Proverbs 14

1 Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.	1 La sabiduría edifica una casa, pero la necedad la destruye con sus propias manos.
2 He that walketh in his uprightness feareth the LORD: but he that is perverse in his ways despiseth him.	2 El que camina con rectitud teme al Señor, el que va por caminos tortuosos lo desprecia.
3 In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride: but the lips of the wise shall preserve them.	3 De la boca del necio brota el orgullo, los labios de los sabios son su defensa.
4 Where no oxen are, the crib is clean: but much increase is by the strength of the ox.	4 Donde no hay bueyes, el establo está limpio, pero la fuerza de un toro da mucha ganancia.
5 A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies.	5 Un testigo veraz no engaña, pero el testigo falso profiere mentiras.
6 A scorner seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not: but knowledge is easy unto him that understandeth.	6 El insolente busca sabiduría y no la encuentra, pero la ciencia es fácil para el inteligente.
7 Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge.	7 Aléjate de la presencia de un necio: no hallarás ciencia en sus labios.
8 The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit.	8 La sabiduría del prudente es saber discernir su camino, la insensatez de los necios es puro engaño.
9 Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour.	9 El necio se burla de los sacrificios expiatorios, pero entre los hombres rectos se encuentra el favor de Dios.
10 The heart knoweth his own bitterness; and a stranger doth not intermeddle with his joy.	10 El corazón conoce su propia amargura y ningún extraño se asocia a su alegría.
11 The house of the wicked shall be overthrown: but the tabernacle of the upright shall flourish.	11 La casa de los malvados será destruida, pero la carpa de los rectos florecerá.
12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.	12 Hay caminos que parecen rectos, pero al final son caminos de muerte.
13 Even in laughter the heart is sorrowful; and the end of that mirth is heaviness.	13 También entre risas, sufre el corazón, y al fin la alegría termina en pesar.
14 The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man shall be satisfied from himself.	14 El descarriado se sacia con los frutos de su conducta, y el hombre de bien con sus acciones.
15 The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going.	15 El incauto cree todo lo que le dicen, pero el prudente vigila sus pasos.
16 A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident.	16 El sabio teme el mal y se aparta de él, el necio es temerario y se siente seguro.
17 He that is soon angry dealeth foolishly: and a man of wicked devices is hated.	17 El iracundo comete locuras, el hombre reflexivo sabe aguantar.
18 The simple inherit folly: but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.	18 La herencia de los incautos es la necedad, la corona de los prudentes es la ciencia.
19 The evil bow before the good; and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.	19 Los malos se doblegarán ante los buenos, y los malvados, a las puertas del justo.
20 The poor is hated even of his own neighbour: but the rich hath many friends.	20 El pobre resulta odioso aun para su vecino, pero el rico tiene muchos amigos.
21 He that despiseth his neighbour sinneth: but he that hath mercy on the poor, happy is he.	21 El que desprecia a su prójimo peca, pero ¡feliz el que se apiada de los humildes!
22 Do they not err that devise evil? but mercy and truth shall be to them that devise good.	22 ¿No viven extraviados los que traman el mal? Pero hay amor y fidelidad para los que se dedican al bien.
23 In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.	23 Toda fatiga trae algún provecho, pero la charlatanería sólo aporta indigencia.
24 The crown of the wise is their riches: but the foolishness of fools is folly.	24 La corona de los sabios es la prudencia, la diadema de los necios, la insensatez.
25 A true witness delivereth souls: but a deceitful witness speaketh lies.	25 Un testigo veraz salva las vidas, el que profiere mentiras es un impostor.
26 In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.	26 El temor del Señor es un refugio seguro, que sirve de defensa para los hijos.
27 The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.	27 El temor del Señor es fuente de vida, que aparta de los lazos de la muerte.
28 In the multitude of people is the king's honour: but in the want of people is the destruction of the prince.	28 Un pueblo numeroso es la gloria del rey, la falta de súbditos es la ruina del soberano.
29 He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.	29 El que tarda en enojarse muestra gran inteligencia, el iracundo pone de manifiesto su necedad.
30 A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.	30 Un corazón apacible es la vida del cuerpo, pero la envidia corroe los huesos.
31 He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker: but he that honoureth him hath mercy on the poor.	31 El que oprime al débil ultraja a su Creador, el que se apiada del indigente, lo honra.
32 The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: but the righteous hath hope in his death.	32 El malvado es arrasado por su propia malicia, el justo encuentra un refugio en su integridad.
33 Wisdom resteth in the heart of him that hath understanding: but that which is in the midst of fools is made known.	33 En el corazón inteligente reposa la sabiduría, pero entre los necios no se la conoce.
34 Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.	34 La justicia exalta a una nación, pero el pecado es la vergüenza de los pueblos.
35 The king's favour is toward a wise servant: but his wrath is against him that causeth shame.	35 El favor del rey es para el servidor prudente y su furor, para el desvergonzado.
