Proverbs 12

1 Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.	1 Chi ama la disciplina, ama la scienza, ma chi odia il rimprovero è uno stupido.
2 A good man obtaineth favour of the LORD: but a man of wicked devices will he condemn.	2 Un buono si attira la compiacenza del Signore, ma l'uomo astuto Dio lo condanna.
3 A man shall not be established by wickedness: but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.	3 Non si consolida un uomo con l'empietà, ma la radice dei giusti non sarà mai smossa.
4 A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.	4 Una buona moglie è la corona di suo marito, ma come carie nell'ossa è la disonorata.
5 The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.	5 I pensieri dei giusti sono equità, ma le trame degli empi sono inganno.
6 The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood: but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.	6 Le parole degli empi sono insidie mortali, ma la bocca degli uomini retti li libera.
7 The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand.	7 Gli empi precipitano e non tornano più, la casa dei retti rimane per sempre.
8 A man shall be commended according to his wisdom: but he that is of a perverse heart shall be despised.	8 Per la propria prudenza uno viene lodato, l'uomo perverso invece è disprezzato.
9 He that is despised, and hath a servant, is better than he that honoureth himself, and lacketh bread.	9 Val più un uomo da poco che ha solo un servo, di un uomo onorato, ma privo di pane.
10 A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.	10 Il giusto conosce ognuno dei suoi animali, ma le viscere degli empi sono crudeli.
11 He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that followeth vain persons is void of understanding.	11 Chi lavora il suo suolo si sazia di pane, ma chi va dietro a chimere è privo di senno.
12 The wicked desireth the net of evil men: but the root of the righteous yieldeth fruit.	12 L'empio brama la rete dei cattivi, ma la radice dei giusti produce.
13 The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of trouble.	13 Nel peccato delle labbra è preso il malvagio, il giusto invece sfugge al loro morso.
14 A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompence of a man's hands shall be rendered unto him.	14 Dal frutto della bocca l'uomo si sazia di beni e il frutto delle sue mani gli appartiene.
15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.	15 La via dell'empio è retta ai suoi occhi, ma chi ascolta il consiglio è saggio.
16 A fool's wrath is presently known: but a prudent man covereth shame.	16 Lo stolto subito fa vedere il suo dispetto, ma il sapiente nasconde l'oltraggio.
17 He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit.	17 Chi ama la verità annunzia la giustizia, ma testimonianza dei bugiardi è la falsità.
18 There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health.	18 C'è chi parla come a colpi di spada, ma la lingua dei saggi guarisce.
19 The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment.	19 Una lingua verace rimane in eterno, una lingua bugiarda solo un batter d'occhio.
20 Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellers of peace is joy.	20 Delusione nel cuore di chi trama il male, gioia per chi consiglia la pace.
21 There shall no evil happen to the just: but the wicked shall be filled with mischief.	21 Non giunge al giusto alcun malanno, gli empi invece son pieni di mali.
22 Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight.	22 Il Signore detesta una lingua bugiarda, di chi fa la verità invece si compiace.
23 A prudent man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness.	23 L'uomo prudente nasconde la scienza, ma il cuore degli empi proclama stoltezza.
24 The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.	24 La mano dell'uomo solerte sarà sopra tutti, ma l'uomo indolente diventerà schiavo.
25 Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.	25 Basta un affanno del cuore e l'uomo ha la febbre, ma una buona parola lo riempie di gioia.
26 The righteous is more excellent than his neighbour: but the way of the wicked seduceth them.	26 Trova il suo pascolo il giusto, ma la via degli empi li svia.
27 The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious.	27 Non arrostisce l'indolenza la sua preda, ma è ricchezza dell'uomo una preziosa diligenza.
28 In the way of righteousness is life; and in the pathway thereof there is no death.	28 Sul sentiero della giustizia, la vita, la sua strada non va mai alla morte.
