Proverbs 12

1 Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.	1 - Chi ama la disciplina, ama la scienza; ma chi odia gli ammonimenti è uno scemo.
2 A good man obtaineth favour of the LORD: but a man of wicked devices will he condemn.	2 Chi è buono, otterrà favori dal Signore, e chi confida nei suoi artifizi, opra da empio.
3 A man shall not be established by wickedness: but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.	3 L'uomo non acquisterà fermezza coll'iniquità; ma la radice dei giusti non sarà mai smossa.
4 A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.	4 La donna diligente è la corona del marito; e carie nelle ossa quella che fa azioni indegne.
5 The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.	5 I pensieri dei giusti sono l'equità; e i consigli dei tristi sono frodolenti.
6 The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood: but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.	6 Le parole degli empi insidiano al sangue altrui; la bocca dei buoni li libererà.
7 The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand.	7 Lascia che voltino gli empi, e non saranno più; ma la casa dei giusti resterà salva.
8 A man shall be commended according to his wisdom: but he that is of a perverse heart shall be despised.	8 Dalla sua dottrina si conoscerà l'uomo, e chi è vano e scemo sarà esposto al disprezzo.
9 He that is despised, and hath a servant, is better than he that honoureth himself, and lacketh bread.	9 È meglio un povero che basta a sè, di un borioso che manca di pane.
10 A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.	10 Il giusto ha cura della vita delle sue bestiole, ma le viscere degli empi sono crudeli.
11 He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that followeth vain persons is void of understanding.	11 Chi lavora la sua terra, si sazierà di pane; chi segue l'ozio è più che stolto. Chi prende gusto nei trattenimenti dei bevitori di vinolascerà il disonore nei suoi castelli.
12 The wicked desireth the net of evil men: but the root of the righteous yieldeth fruit.	12 Il desiderio dell'empio è che si rafforzino i peggiori; ma la radice del giusto germoglierà.
13 The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of trouble.	13 Pei peccati delle labbra il malvagio va incontro alla rovina; ma il giusto scamperà dall'angustia.
14 A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompence of a man's hands shall be rendered unto him.	14 Ciascuno si sazierà dei beni, frutto della sua bocca e secondo la mercede delle sue mani sarà retribuito.
15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.	15 La via dello stolto è diritta ai suoi occhi, ma chi è saggio dà retta ai consigli.
16 A fool's wrath is presently known: but a prudent man covereth shame.	16 L'insensato fa conoscere tosto la sua collera, ma chi dissimula un affronto è avveduto.
17 He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit.	17 Chi dice quello che sa, dà indizio di giustizia, ma chi mentisce è testimonio frodolento.
18 There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health.	18 C'è chi promette e gli ripunge come spada nella sua coscienza, ma la lingua dei saggi è una medicina.
19 The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment.	19 Il labbro veritiero sarà costante in perpetuo, ma chi è testimonio avventato acconcia la lingua alla menzogna.
20 Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellers of peace is joy.	20 Nel cuore dei macchinatori di malvagità c'è l'inganno e a quelli che fanno accordi di pace tien dietro l'allegrezza.
21 There shall no evil happen to the just: but the wicked shall be filled with mischief.	21 Non contristerà il giusto qualunque cosa l'incolga, mentre i tristi saranno sempre pieni di guai.
22 Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight.	22 Le labbra menzognere sono in abominio presso Dio, e quelli che operano con lealtà hanno la sua simpatia.
23 A prudent man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness.	23 L'uomo accorto cela la sua scienza, e il cuor degli stolti pubblica la sua follia.
24 The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.	24 La mano dei laboriosi signoreggerà, e la pigra pagherà tributo.
25 Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.	25 La tristezza nel cuore dell'uomo l'abbatterà, e da una buona parola sarà rallegrato.
26 The righteous is more excellent than his neighbour: but the way of the wicked seduceth them.	26 Chi non cura il suo danno in pro dell'amico è giusto, ma il cammino dei tristi fa loro perdere i passi.
27 The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious.	27 Il fraudolento non troverà guadagno, e una sostanza frutto dell'uomo vale tant'oro.
28 In the way of righteousness is life; and in the pathway thereof there is no death.	28 Sul sentiero della giustizia c'è la vita, e la strada obliqua conduce alla morte.
