Proverbs 12

1 Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.	1 Chi ama la disciplina ama la scienza; chi odia la correzione è un insensato.
2 A good man obtaineth favour of the LORD: but a man of wicked devices will he condemn.	2 L'uomo dabbene otterrà la grazia dal Signore, ma chi confida nei suoi pensieri agisce da empio.
3 A man shall not be established by wickedness: but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.	3 L'uomo non si renderà forte coll'empietà, e sarà immobile la radice dei giusti.
4 A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.	4 La donna diligente è una corona per suo marito, ma è una carie nelle ossa di lui quella che fa azioni vergognose.
5 The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.	5 I pensieri dei giusti son giustizia, e i consigli degli empi son frode.
6 The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood: but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.	6 Le parole degli empi insidiano la vita; la bocca dei giusti porterà loro salvezza.
7 The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand.	7 Rivolta gli empi e non saranno; ma resterà la casa dei giusti.
8 A man shall be commended according to his wisdom: but he that is of a perverse heart shall be despised.	8 Dalla sua dottrina si fa conoscere l'uomo, ma chi è vano e senza cuore sarà esposto agli spregi.
9 He that is despised, and hath a servant, is better than he that honoureth himself, and lacketh bread.	9 E' meglio un povero che basta a se stesso, di un borioso che manca di pane.
10 A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.	10 Il giusto ha cura della vita delle sue bestie, ma le viscere degli empi sono crudeli.
11 He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that followeth vain persons is void of understanding.	11 Chi lavora la sua terra avrà pane in abbondanza, chi cerca di stare in ozio è stoltissimo. Colui che ama stare dove si beve lascia il disonore nella sua casa.
12 The wicked desireth the net of evil men: but the root of the righteous yieldeth fruit.	12 Il desiderio degli empi è l'appoggio dei peggiori, ma prospererà la radice dei giusti.
13 The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of trouble.	13 Per i peccati della lingua la rovina s'avvicina al malvagio, ma il giusto fuggirà dalle angustie.
14 A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompence of a man's hands shall be rendered unto him.	14 Col frutto della sua bocca ciascuno sarà colmo di beni, ed avrà mercede secondo l'opera delle sue mani.
15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.	15 La via dello stolto è buona agli occhi di lui, ma chi è saggio dà retta ai consigli.
16 A fool's wrath is presently known: but a prudent man covereth shame.	16 Lo stolto fa subito conoscere il suo sdegno, ma chi dissimula l'ingiuria è scaltro.
17 He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit.	17 Chi parla di ciò che conosce, dà segni di giustizia, ma chi mentisce è un testimonio fraudolento.
18 There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health.	18 C'è chi promette e poi è punto dalla coscienza come da spada, ma la lingua dei sapienti risana.
19 The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment.	19 Il labbro veritiero non muta in eterno, ma è testimonio d'un momento chi imbastisce linguaggio di menzogna.
20 Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellers of peace is joy.	20 Nel cuore di chi macchina il male cova la frode, la gioia segue coloro che dànno consigli di pace.
21 There shall no evil happen to the just: but the wicked shall be filled with mischief.	21 Non sarà contristato il giusto, qualunque cosa gli accada, ma gli empi saran pieni di guai.
22 Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight.	22 Sono in abominio davanti a Dio le labbra bugiarde, e gli piacciono quelli che agiscono con sincerità.
23 A prudent man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness.	23 L'uomo accorto cela il suo sapere, ma il cuore degli stolti strombazza la sua scempiaggine.
24 The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.	24 La mano dei forti dominerà, la pigra sarà sottomessa ai tributi.
25 Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.	25 La tristezza del cuore umilierà l'uomo, lo rallegreranno le buone parole.
26 The righteous is more excellent than his neighbour: but the way of the wicked seduceth them.	26 Chi non guarda al danno per amor dell'amico è giusto, dalla loro via saran tratti in inganno gli empi.
27 The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious.	27 Il fraudolento non troverà guadagno, la sostanza dell'uomo sarà a prezzo d'oro.
28 In the way of righteousness is life; and in the pathway thereof there is no death.	28 Nel sentiero della giustizia c'è la vita, ma la via sbagliata conduce alla morte.
