Psalms 91

1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.	1 Salmo, ovver cantico pel giorno di sabato. Buona cosa ell'è il dar gloria al Signore, e cantar inni al tuo nome, o Altissimo:
2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.	2 Per celebrare al mattino la tua misericordia, e la tua verità nella notte;
3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.	3 Cantando sopra il saltero a dieci corde, e sopra la cetra.
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.	4 Perocché tu mi hai letificato, o Signore, colle cose fatte da te, e nelle opere delle tue mani io esulto.
5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;	5 Quanto sono magnifiche, o Signore, le opere tue grandemente profondi sono i tuoi consiglj.
6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.	6 L'uomo insensato non gli intenderà, e lo stolto non capirà tali cose.
7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.	7 Allorché i peccatori saran venuti su come l'erba, ed avran fatta la loro comparsa tutti quelli, che operano l'iniquità,
8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.	8 Ei periranno per tutti i secoli: ma tu, o Signore, tu sei eternamente l'Altissimo.
9 Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;	9 Imperocché ecco che i nemici tuoi, o Signore, ecco che i nemici tuoi, periranno, e saranno spersi tutti quelli, che operano l'iniquità.
10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.	10 E la mia forza sarà esaltata, come quella dell'unicorno, e la mia vecchiezza per la copiosa misericordia.
11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.	11 E il mio occhio guarderà con disprezzo i miei nemici, e le mie orecchie udiranno novella intorno a coloro, che si levan su, e malignano contro di me.
12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.	12 Fiorirà il giunto come la palma: si innalzerà qual cedro del Libano.
13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.	13 Allorché son piantati nella casa del Signore, fioriranno nell'atrio della casa del nostro Dio.
14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.	14 Ringioveniranno di nuovo in pingue vecchiezza, e saranno ben forti per annunziare,
15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.	15 Come il Signore Dio nostro è giusto, e non è in lui la minima iniquità.
16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
