Psalms 85

1 LORD, thou hast been favourable unto thy land: thou hast brought back the captivity of Jacob.	1 Al maestro di coro. Dei figli di Core. Salmo.
2 Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people, thou hast covered all their sin. Selah.	2 Sei stato benevolo, o Signore, con la tua terra, hai restaurato le sorti di Giacobbe.
3 Thou hast taken away all thy wrath: thou hast turned thyself from the fierceness of thine anger.	3 Hai perdonato l'iniquità del tuo popolo, hai cancellato ogni loro peccato.
4 Turn us, O God of our salvation, and cause thine anger toward us to cease.	4 Hai contenuto tutto il tuo sdegno, ti sei ritratto dalla tua ira furente.
5 Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? wilt thou draw out thine anger to all generations?	5 Rialzaci, o Dio, nostra salvezza; placa il tuo sdegno che hai contro di noi.
6 Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?	6 Forse in eterno starai in collera con noi? Di generazione in generazione si protrarrà la tua ira?
7 Shew us thy mercy, O LORD, and grant us thy salvation.	7 Non vorrai forse ridarci la vita, sì che il tuo popolo si rallegri in te?
8 I will hear what God the LORD will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly.	8 Mostraci, o Signore, la tua misericordia e donaci la tua salvezza.
9 Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land.	9 Voglio ascoltare ciò che dice Dio; il Signore, di certo, parla di pace per il suo popolo e per i suoi fedeli, per quelli che a lui tornano con tutto il loro cuore.
10 Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.	10 Certamente vicina è la salvezza a chi lo teme; la sua gloria dimorerà di nuovo nella nostra terra.
11 Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven.	11 Misericordia e fedeltà si sono abbracciate, giustizia e pace si sono baciate.
12 Yea, the LORD shall give that which is good; and our land shall yield her increase.	12 Germoglierà dalla terra la fedeltà e la giustizia si affaccerà dal cielo.
13 Righteousness shall go before him; and shall set us in the way of his steps.	13 Infatti il Signore concederà ogni bene e la nostra terra darà il suo frutto.
	14 La giustizia cammina davanti a lui, la rettitudine sulla via dei suoi passi.
