Psalms 85

1 LORD, thou hast been favourable unto thy land: thou hast brought back the captivity of Jacob.	1 Al maestro del coro. Dei figli di Core. Salmo.
2 Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people, thou hast covered all their sin. Selah.	2 Sei stato buono, Signore, con la tua terra,hai ristabilito la sorte di Giacobbe.
3 Thou hast taken away all thy wrath: thou hast turned thyself from the fierceness of thine anger.	3 Hai perdonato la colpa del tuo popolo,hai coperto ogni loro peccato.
4 Turn us, O God of our salvation, and cause thine anger toward us to cease.	4 Hai posto fine a tutta la tua collera,ti sei distolto dalla tua ira ardente.
5 Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? wilt thou draw out thine anger to all generations?	5 Ritorna a noi, Dio nostra salvezza,e placa il tuo sdegno verso di noi.
6 Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?	6 Forse per sempre sarai adirato con noi,di generazione in generazione riverserai la tua ira?
7 Shew us thy mercy, O LORD, and grant us thy salvation.	7 Non tornerai tu a ridarci la vita,perché in te gioisca il tuo popolo?
8 I will hear what God the LORD will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly.	8 Mostraci, Signore, la tua misericordiae donaci la tua salvezza.
9 Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land.	9 Ascolterò che cosa dice Dio, il Signore:egli annuncia la paceper il suo popolo, per i suoi fedeli,per chi ritorna a lui con fiducia.
10 Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.	10 Sì, la sua salvezza è vicina a chi lo teme,perché la sua gloria abiti la nostra terra.
11 Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven.	11 Amore e verità s’incontreranno,giustizia e pace si baceranno.
12 Yea, the LORD shall give that which is good; and our land shall yield her increase.	12 Verità germoglierà dalla terrae giustizia si affaccerà dal cielo.
13 Righteousness shall go before him; and shall set us in the way of his steps.	13 Certo, il Signore donerà il suo benee la nostra terra darà il suo frutto;
	14 giustizia camminerà davanti a lui:i suoi passi tracceranno il cammino.
