Psalms 85

1 LORD, thou hast been favourable unto thy land: thou hast brought back the captivity of Jacob.	1 'Al maestro del coro. Dei figli di Core.' Salmo.
2 Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people, thou hast covered all their sin. Selah.	2 Signore, sei stato buono con la tua terra, hai ricondotto i deportati di Giacobbe.
3 Thou hast taken away all thy wrath: thou hast turned thyself from the fierceness of thine anger.	3 Hai perdonato l'iniquità del tuo popolo, hai cancellato tutti i suoi peccati.
4 Turn us, O God of our salvation, and cause thine anger toward us to cease.	4 Hai deposto tutto il tuo sdegno e messo fine alla tua grande ira.
5 Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? wilt thou draw out thine anger to all generations?	5 Rialzaci, Dio nostra salvezza, e placa il tuo sdegno verso di noi.
6 Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?	6 Forse per sempre sarai adirato con noi, di età in età estenderai il tuo sdegno?
7 Shew us thy mercy, O LORD, and grant us thy salvation.	7 Non tornerai tu forse a darci vita, perché in te gioisca il tuo popolo?
8 I will hear what God the LORD will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly.	8 Mostraci, Signore, la tua misericordia e donaci la tua salvezza.
9 Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land.	9 Ascolterò che cosa dice Dio, il Signore: egli annunzia la pace per il suo popolo, per i suoi fedeli, per chi ritorna a lui con tutto il cuore.
10 Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.	10 La sua salvezza è vicina a chi lo teme e la sua gloria abiterà la nostra terra.
11 Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven.	11 Misericordia e verità s'incontreranno, giustizia e pace si baceranno.
12 Yea, the LORD shall give that which is good; and our land shall yield her increase.	12 La verità germoglierà dalla terra e la giustizia si affaccerà dal cielo.
13 Righteousness shall go before him; and shall set us in the way of his steps.	13 Quando il Signore elargirà il suo bene, la nostra terra darà il suo frutto.
	14 Davanti a lui camminerà la giustizia e sulla via dei suoi passi la salvezza.
