Psalms 85

KING JAMES BIBLE	JERUSALEM
1 LORD, thou hast been favourable unto thy land: thou hast brought back the captivity of Jacob.	1 Du maître de chant. Des fils de Coré.Psaume.
2 Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people, thou hast covered all their sin. Selah.	2 Ta complaisance, Yahvé, est pour ta terre, tu fais revenir les captifs de Jacob;
3 Thou hast taken away all thy wrath: thou hast turned thyself from the fierceness of thine anger.	3 tu lèves les torts de ton peuple, tu couvres toute sa faute;
4 Turn us, O God of our salvation, and cause thine anger toward us to cease.	4 tu retires tout ton emportement, tu reviens de l'ardeur de ta colère.
5 Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? wilt thou draw out thine anger to all generations?	5 Fais-nous revenir, Dieu de notre salut, apaise ton ressentiment contre nous!
6 Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?	6 Seras-tu pour toujours irrité contre nous, garderas-tu ta colère d'âge en âge?
7 Shew us thy mercy, O LORD, and grant us thy salvation.	7 Ne reviendras-tu pas nous vivifier, et ton peuple en toi se réjouira?
8 I will hear what God the LORD will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly.	8 Fais-nous voir, Yahvé, ton amour, que nous soit donné ton salut!
9 Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land.	9 J'écoute. Que dit Dieu? Ce que dit Yahvé, c'est la paix pour son peuple et ses amis, pourvu qu'ils nereviennent à leur folie.
10 Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.	10 Proche est son salut pour qui le craint, et la Gloire habitera notre terre.
11 Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven.	11 Amour et Vérité se rencontrent, Justice et Paix s'embrassent;
12 Yea, the LORD shall give that which is good; and our land shall yield her increase.	12 Vérité germera de la terre, et des cieux se penchera la Justice;
13 Righteousness shall go before him; and shall set us in the way of his steps.	13 Yahvé lui-même donnera le bonheur et notre terre donnera son fruit;
	14 Justice marchera devant lui et de ses pas tracera un chemin.
