Psalms 66

1 Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands:	1 [Dem Chorleiter. Ein Lied. Ein Psalm.] Jubelt Gott, alle Länder!
2 Sing forth the honour of his name: make his praise glorious.	2 Singt vom Ruhm seines Namens, entbietet ihm ehrenden Lobgesang!
3 Say unto God, How terrible art thou in thy works! through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee.	3 Sprecht zu Gott: "Wie ehrfurchtgebietend sind deine Werke! Ob deiner gewaltigen Macht huldigen dir deine Feinde.
4 All the earth shall worship thee, and shall sing unto thee; they shall sing to thy name. Selah.	4 Alle Welt neige sich vor dir, singe dir, besinge deinen Namen!" [Zwischenspiel]
5 Come and see the works of God: he is terrible in his doing toward the children of men.	5 Kommt und schaut das Wirken Gottes! Schauervoll ist sein Walten über den Menschen.
6 He turned the sea into dry land: they went through the flood on foot: there did we rejoice in him.	6 Er verwandelt das Meer in trockenes Land, zu Fuß durchschritt man den Strom. So wollen wir seiner uns freuen!
7 He ruleth by his power for ever; his eyes behold the nations: let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah.	7 Ewig herrscht er in seiner Kraft, seine Augen achten auf die Völker, die Widerspenstigen können sich nicht erheben. [Zwischenspiel]
8 O bless our God, ye people, and make the voice of his praise to be heard:	8 Preist, ihr Völker, unsern Gott! Laßt laut sein Lob erschallen!
9 Which holdeth our soul in life, and suffereth not our feet to be moved.	9 Er hat uns am Leben erhalten, hat unseren Fuß nicht zum Wanken gebracht.
10 For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried.	10 Ja, du hast uns geprüft, o Gott, geläutert, wie man das Silber läutert.
11 Thou broughtest us into the net; thou laidst affliction upon our loins.	11 Du ließest uns ins Netz geraten, legtest Fesseln um unsere Hüften.
12 Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.	12 Menschen ließest du uns über die Köpfe fahren; wir mußten durch Feuer und Wasser gehen; doch du führtest uns hinaus in die Freiheit.
13 I will go into thy house with burnt offerings: I will pay thee my vows,	13 So komme ich mit Brandopfern in dein Haus und will dir meine Gelübde erfüllen,
14 Which my lips have uttered, and my mouth hath spoken, when I was in trouble.	14 wozu meine Lippen sich aufgetan, und die mein Mund in der Not versprochen.
15 I will offer unto thee burnt sacrifices of fatlings, with the incense of rams; I will offer bullocks with goats. Selah.	15 Mastschafe bringe ich dir zum Brandopfer dar samt dem Opferduft von Widdern. Rinder und Böcke entrichte ich. [Zwischenspiel]
16 Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul.	16 Kommt und vernehmt, ihr Gottesfürchtigen alle, ich will erzählen, wie er an mir getan!
17 I cried unto him with my mouth, and he was extolled with my tongue.	17 Mit meinem Munde rief ich zu ihm, und Lobpreis war auf meiner Zunge.
18 If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:	18 Hätte ich Unrecht entdeckt in meinem Herzen, so hätte der Herr kein Gehör verliehen.
19 But verily God hath heard me; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer.	19 Doch wahrlich, Gott hat gehört, geachtet auf mein lautes Gebet.
20 Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me.	20 Gepriesen sei Gott, der mein Gebet nicht verwarf und seine Gnade mir nicht versagte!
