Psalms 66

1 Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands:	1 Pour la fin, cantique, psaume de la résurrection. Poussez vers Dieu des cris de joie, ô terre entière;
2 Sing forth the honour of his name: make his praise glorious.	2 chantez un hymne à Son Nom; * rendez glorieuse Sa louange.
3 Say unto God, How terrible art thou in thy works! through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee.	3 Dites à Dieu: Que Vos oeuvres sont terribles, Seigneur! * A cause de la grandeur de Votre puissance, Vos ennemis Vous adressent des hommages menteurs.
4 All the earth shall worship thee, and shall sing unto thee; they shall sing to thy name. Selah.	4 Que la terre Vous adore et chante en Votre honneur, * qu'elle dise un hymne à Votre nom.
5 Come and see the works of God: he is terrible in his doing toward the children of men.	5 Venez et voyez les oeuvres de Dieu; * Il est terrible dans Ses desseins sur les enfants des hommes.
6 He turned the sea into dry land: they went through the flood on foot: there did we rejoice in him.	6 Il a changé la mer en une terre sèche; ils ont passé le fleuve à pied, * c'est là que nous nous réjouirons en Lui.
7 He ruleth by his power for ever; his eyes behold the nations: let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah.	7 Il règne à jamais par Sa puissance, Ses yeux contemplent les nations; * que ceux-là qui l'irritent ne s'élèvent point en eux-mêmes.
8 O bless our God, ye people, and make the voice of his praise to be heard:	8 Nations, bénissez notre Dieu, * et faites entendre les accents de Sa louange.
9 Which holdeth our soul in life, and suffereth not our feet to be moved.	9 C'est Lui qui a conservé la vie à mon âme, * et qui n'a point permis que mes pieds soient ébranlés.
10 For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried.	10 Car Vous nous avez éprouvés, ô Dieu; * Vous nous avez fait passer par le feu, comme on y fait passer l'argent.
11 Thou broughtest us into the net; thou laidst affliction upon our loins.	11 Vous nous avez fait tomber dans le piège; Vous avez chargé nos épaules de tribulations; *
12 Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.	12 Vous avez mis des hommes sur nos têtes. Nous avons passé par le feu et par l'eau; * et Vous nous en avez tirés pour nous mettre en un lieu de rafraîchissement.
13 I will go into thy house with burnt offerings: I will pay thee my vows,	13 J'entrerai dans Votre maison avec des holocaustes; * je m'acquitterai envers Vous de mes voeux
14 Which my lips have uttered, and my mouth hath spoken, when I was in trouble.	14 que mes lèvres ont proférés, et que ma bouche a prononcés * pendant ma tribulation.
15 I will offer unto thee burnt sacrifices of fatlings, with the incense of rams; I will offer bullocks with goats. Selah.	15 Je Vous offrirai de gras holocaustes, avec la fumée des béliers; * je Vous offrirai des boeufs avec des boucs.
16 Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul.	16 Venez, entendez, vous tous qui craignez Dieu, * et je vous raconterai tout ce qu'Il a fait à mon âme.
17 I cried unto him with my mouth, and he was extolled with my tongue.	17 Ma bouche a crié vers Lui, * et ma langue L'a exalté.
18 If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:	18 Si j'avais vu l'iniquité dans mon coeur, * le Seigneur ne m'aurait pas exaucé.
19 But verily God hath heard me; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer.	19 C'est pourquoi Dieu m'a exaucé, * et a été attentif à la voix de ma supplication.
20 Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me.	20 Béni soit Dieu, * qui n'a pas rejeté ma prière, ni éloigné de moi Sa miséricorde.
