SAGRADA BIBLIA	DOUAI-RHEIMS
1 Toda a sabedoria vem do Senhor Deus, ela sempre esteve com ele. Ela existe antes de todos os séculos.	1 All wisdom is from the Lord God, and hath been always with him, and is before all time.
2 Quem pode contar os grãos de areia do mar, as gotas de chuva, os dias do tempo? Quem pode medir a altura do céu, a extensão da terra, a profundidade do abismo?	2 Who hath numbered the sand of the sea, and the drops of rain, and the days of the world? Who hath measured the height of heaven, and the breadth of the earth, and the depth of the abyss?
3 Quem pode penetrar a sabedoria divina, anterior a tudo?	3 Who hath searched out the wisdom of God that goeth before all things?
4 A sabedoria foi criada antes de todas as coisas, a inteligência prudente existe antes dos séculos!	4 Wisdom hath been created before all things, and the understanding of prudence from everlasting.
5 O verbo de Deus nos céus é fonte de sabedoria, seus caminhos são os mandamentos eternos.	5 The word of God on high is the fountain of wisdom, and her ways are everlasting commandments.
6 A quem foi revelada a raiz da sabedoria? Quem pode discernir os seus artifícios?	6 To whom hath the root of wisdom been revealed, and who hath known her wise counsels?
7 A quem foi mostrada e revelada a ciência da sabedoria? Quem pode compreender a multiplicidade de seus caminhos?	7 To whom hath the discipline of wisdom been revealed and made manifest? and who hath understood the multiplicity of her steps?
8 Somente o Altíssimo, criador onipotente, rei poderoso e infinitamente temível, Deus dominador, sentado no seu trono;	8 There is one most high Creator Almighty, and a powerful king, and greatly to be feared, who sitteth upon his throne, and is the God of dominion.
9 foi ele quem a criou no Espírito Santo, quem a viu, numerada e medida;	9 He created her in the Holy Ghost, and saw her, and numbered her, and measured her.
10 ele a espargiu em todas as suas obras, sobre toda a carne, à medida que a repartiu, e deu-a àqueles que a amavam.	10 And he poured her out upon all his works, and upon all flesh according to his gift, and hath given her to them that love him.
11 O temor do Senhor é uma glória, um motivo de glória, uma fonte de alegria, uma coroa de regozijo.	11 The fear of the Lord is honour, and glory, and gladness, and a crown of joy.
12 O temor do Senhor alegra o coração. Ele nos dá alegria, regozijo e longa vida.	12 The fear of the Lord shall delight the heart, and shall give joy, and gladness, and length of days.
13 Quem teme o Senhor sentir-se-á bem no instante derradeiro, no dia da morte será abençoado.	13 With him that feareth the Lord, it shall go well in the latter end, and in the day of his death he shall be blessed.
14 O amor de Deus é uma sabedoria digna de ser honrada.	14 The love of God is honourable wisdom.
15 Aqueles a quem ela se mostra, amam-na logo que a vêem, logo que reconhecem os prodígios que realiza.	15 Ana they to whom she shall shew herself love her by the sight, and by the knowledge of her great works.
16 O temor do Senhor é o início da sabedoria. Ela foi criada com os homens fiéis no seio de sua mãe, ela caminha com as mulheres de escol, vemo-la na companhia dos justos e dos fiéis.	16 The fear of the Lord Is the beginning of wisdom, and was created with the faithful in the womb, it walketh with chosen women, and is known with the just and faithful.
17 O temor ao Senhor é a religião da ciência.	17 The fear of the Lord is the religiousness of knowledge.
18 Essa religião guarda e santifica o coração; ela lhe traz satisfação e alegria.	18 Religiousness shall keep and justify the heart, it shall give joy and gladness.
19 Aquele que teme ao Senhor achar-se-á confortado, no dia da morte será abençoado.	19 It shall go well with him that feareth the Lord, and in the days of his end he shall be blessed.
20 O temor ao Senhor é a plenitude da sabedoria, a plenitude de seus frutos, (para aquele que a possui) 21. ela enche toda a sua casa com os bens que produz, e seus celeiros com seus tesouros.	20 To fear God is the fulness of wisdom, and fulness is from the fruits thereof.
	21 She shall fill all her house with her increase, and the storehouses with her treasures.
22 O temor do Senhor é a coroa da sabedoria: dá uma plenitude de paz e de frutos de salvação.	22 The fear of the Lord is a crown of wisdom, filling up peace and the fruit of salvation:
23 Ele a viu e numerou-a; ora, um e outra são um dom de Deus.	23 And it hath seen, and numbered her: but both are the gifts of God.
24 A sabedoria distribui a ciência e a prudente inteligência; eleva à glória aqueles que a possuem.	24 Wisdom shall distribute knowledge, and understanding of prudence: and exalteth the glory of them that hold her.
25 O temor do Senhor é a raiz da sabedoria, seus ramos são de longa duração.	25 The root of wisdom is to fear the Lord: and the branches thereof are longlived.
26 A inteligência e a religião da ciência se acham nos tesouros da sabedoria, mas a sabedoria é abominada pelos pecadores.	26 In the treasures of wisdom is understanding, and religiousness of knowledge: but to sinners wisdom is an abomination.
27 O temor ao Senhor expulsa o pecado,	27 The fear of the Lord driveth out sin:
28 pois aquele que não tem esse temor não poderá tornar-se justo. A violência de sua paixão causará sua ruína.	28 For he that is without fear, cannot be justified: for the wrath of his high spirits is his ruin.
29 O homem paciente esperará até um determinado tempo, após o qual a alegria lhe será restituída.	29 A patient man shall bear for a time, and afterwards joy shall be restored to him.
30 O homem de bom senso guarda suas palavras; muitos falarão, em voz alta, de sua prudência.	30 A good understanding will hide his words for a time, and the lips of many shall declare his wisdom.
31 O sentido da instrução está encerrado nos celeiros da sabedoria.	31 In the treasures of wisdom is the signification of discipline:
32 Mas o culto de Deus é abominado pelo pecador.	32 But the worship of God is an abomination to a sinner.
33 Meu filho, tu que desejas ardentemente a sabedoria, sê justo e Deus ta concederá.	33 Son, if thou desire wisdom, keep justice, and God will give her to thee.
34 Pois o temor do Senhor é sabedoria e instrução, e o que lhe é agradável	34 For the fear of the Lord is wisdom and discipline: and that which is agreeable to him,
35 é fidelidade e doçura; ele encherá os celeiros daqueles (que as possuem).	35 Is faith, and meekness: and he will fill up his treasures.
36 Não sejas rebelde ao temor do Senhor, não vás a ele com um coração fingido.	36 Be not incredulous to the fear of the Lord: and come not to him with a double heart.
37 Não sejas hipócrita diante dos homens, e que teus lábios não sejam motivo de queda.	37 Be not a hypocrite in the sight of men, and let not thy lips be a stumblingblock to thee.
38 Vela sobre eles para que não caias, e não atraias sobre tua alma a desonra;	38 Watch over them, lest thou fall, and bring dishonour upon thy soul,
39 e para que Deus, revelando teus segredos, não te destrua no meio da assembléia,	39 And God discover thy secrets, and cast thee down in the midst of the congregation.
40 por te teres aproximado do Senhor sorrateiramente, com o coração cheio de astúcia e engano.	40 Because thou camest to the Lord wickedly, and thy heart is full of guile and deceit.
