SAGRADA BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Hino de Etã, ezraíta. Cantarei, eternamente, as bondades do Senhor; minha boca publicará sua fidelidade de geração em geração.	1 [Poem For Ethan the native-born] I shal sing the faithful love of Yahweh for ever, from age to age mylips shall declare your constancy,
2 Com efeito, vós dissestes: A bondade é um edifício eterno. Vossa fidelidade firmastes no céu.	2 for you have said: love is built to last for ever, you have fixed your constancy firm in the heavens.
3 Concluí, dizeis vós, uma aliança com o meu eleito; liguei-me por juramento a Davi, meu servo.	3 'I have made a covenant with my Chosen One, sworn an oath to my servant David:
4 Conservarei tua linhagem para sempre, manterei teu trono em todas as gerações.	4 I have made your dynasty firm for ever, built your throne stable age after age.'Pause
5 Senhor, os céus celebram as vossas maravilhosas obras, e na assembléia dos anjos a vossas fidelidade.	5 The heavens praise your wonders, Yahweh, your constancy in the gathering of your faithful.
6 Quem poderá, nas nuvens, igualar-se a Deus? Quem é semelhante ao Senhor entre os filhos de Deus?	6 Who in the skies can compare with Yahweh? Who among the sons of god can rival him?
7 Terrível é Deus na assembléia dos santos, maior e mais tremendo que todos os que o cercam.	7 God, awesome in the assembly of holy ones, great and dreaded among al who surround him,
8 Quem se compara a vós, Senhor, Deus dos exércitos? Sois forte, Senhor, e cheio de fidelidade.	8 Yahweh, God Sabaoth, who is like you? Mighty Yahweh, your constancy is al round you!
9 Dominais o orgulho do mar, amainais suas ondas revoltas.	9 You control the pride of the ocean, when its waves ride high you calm them.
10 Calcastes Raab e o transportastes; com poderoso braço dispersastes vossos inimigos.	10 You split Rahab in two like a corpse, scattered your enemies with your mighty arm.
11 Vossos são os céus e também a terra, vós que criastes o globo e tudo o que ele contém.	11 Yours are the heavens and yours the earth, the world and al it holds, you founded them;
12 O norte e o sul vós os fizestes; Tabor e Hermon em vosso nome exultam.	12 you created the north and the south, Tabor and Hermon hail your name with joy.
13 Tendes o poder em vosso braço, a firmeza na mão, a autoridade em vossa destra.	13 Yours is a strong arm, mighty your hand, your right hand raised high;
14 A justiça e o direito são o fundamento de vosso trono, a bondade e a fidelidade vos precedem.	14 Saving Justice and Fair Judgement the foundations of your throne, Faithful Love and Constancymarch before you.
15 Feliz o povo que vos sabe louvar: caminha na luz de vossa face, Senhor.	15 How blessed the nation that learns to acclaim you! They will live, Yahweh, in the light of yourpresence.
16 Vosso nome lhe é causa de contínua alegria, pela vossa justiça ele se glorifica,	16 In your name they rejoice al day long, by your saving justice they are raised up.
17 porque sois o esplendor de sua força, e é vosso favor que nos faz erguer a cabeça,	17 You are the flower of their strength, by your favour our strength is triumphant;
18 pois no Senhor está o nosso escudo, e nosso rei no Santo de Israel.	18 for to Yahweh belongs our shield, to the Holy One of Israel our king.
19 Outrora, em visão, falastes aos vossos santos e dissestes-lhes: Impus a coroa a um herói, escolhi meu eleito dentre o povo.	19 Once you spoke in a vision, to your faithful you said: 'I have given strength to a warrior, I have raisedup a man chosen from my people.
20 Encontrei Davi, meu servidor, e o sagrei com a minha santa unção.	20 'I have found David my servant, and anointed him with my holy oil.
21 Assistir-lhe-á sempre a minha mão, e meu braço o fortalecerá.	21 My hand wil always be with him, my arm wil make him strong.
22 Não o há de surpreender o inimigo, nem ousará oprimi-lo o malvado.	22 'No enemy wil be able to outwit him, no wicked man overcome him;
23 Sob seus olhos esmagarei os seus contrários, serão feridos aqueles que o odeiam.	23 I shal crush his enemies before him, strike his opponents dead.
24 Com ele ficarão minha fidelidade e bondade, pelo meu nome crescerá o seu poder.	24 'My constancy and faithful love will be with him, in my name his strength wil be triumphant.
25 Estenderei a sua mão por sobre o mar, e a sua destra acima dos rios.	25 I shal establish his power over the sea, his dominion over the rivers.
26 Ele me invocará: Vós sois meu Pai, vós sois meu Deus e meu rochedo protetor.	26 'He wil cry to me, "You are my father, my God, the rock of my salvation!"
27 Por isso eu o constituirei meu primogênito, o mais excelso dentre todos os reis da terra.	27 So I shal make him my first-born, the highest of earthly kings.
28 Assegurado lhe estará o favor eterno, e indissolúvel será meu pacto com ele.	28 'I shal maintain my faithful love for him always, my covenant with him wil stay firm.
29 Dar-lhe-ei uma perpétua descendência, seu trono terá a duração dos céus.	29 I have established his dynasty for ever, his throne to be as lasting as the heavens.
30 Se, porém, seus filhos abandonarem minha lei, se não observarem os meus preceitos,	30 'Should his descendants desert my law, and not keep to my rulings,
31 se violarem as minhas prescrições e não obedecerem às minhas ordens,	31 should they violate my statutes, and not observe my commandments,
32 eu punirei com vara a sua transgressão, e a sua falta castigarei com açoite.	32 'then I shal punish their offences with the rod, their guilt with the whip,
33 Mas não lhe retirarei o meu favor e não trairei minha promessa.	33 but I shal never withdraw from him my faithful love, I shal not belie my constancy.
34 não violarei minha aliança, não mudarei minha palavra dada.	34 'I shal not violate my covenant, I shal not withdraw the word once spoken.
35 Jurei uma vez por todas pela minha santidade: a Davi não faltarei jamais.	35 I have sworn by my holiness, once and for al , never will I break faith with David.
36 Sua posteridade permanecerá eternamente, e seu trono, como o sol, subsistirá diante de mim,	36 'His dynasty shal endure for ever, his throne like the sun before me,
37 como a lua que existirá sem fim, e o arco-íris, fiel testemunha nos céus.	37 as the moon is established for ever, a faithful witness in the skies.'Pause
38 E, contudo, vós o repelistes e rejeitastes, gravemente vos irritastes contra aquele que vos é consagrado.	38 Yet you yourself -- you have spurned and rejected, and have vented your wrath on your anointed,
39 Rompestes a aliança feita com o vosso servidor, lançastes por terra sua coroa,	39 you have repudiated the covenant with your servant, dishonoured his crown in the dust.
40 derrubastes todos os seus muros, arruinastes as suas fortalezas.	40 You have pierced al his defences, and laid his strongholds in ruins,
41 Saquearam-no todos os transeuntes, e o escarneceram os seus vizinhos.	41 everyone passing by plunders him, he has become the butt of his neighbours.
42 A mão de seus inimigos exaltastes, de gozo enchestes todos os seus contrários.	42 You have raised high the right hand of his opponents, have made al his enemies happy;
43 Embotastes o fio de sua espada, não o sustentastes na batalha.	43 you have snapped off his sword on a rock, and failed to support him in battle.
44 Fizestes terminar seu esplendor, por terra derrubastes o seu trono.	44 You have stripped him of his splendid sceptre, and toppled his throne to the ground.
45 Abreviastes a sua adolescência, e de ignomínia o cobristes.	45 You have aged him before his time, enveloped him in shame.Pause
46 Até quando, Senhor? Até quando continuareis escondido? Até quando estará acesa a vossa cólera?	46 How long, Yahweh, will you remain hidden? For ever? Is your anger to go on smouldering like a fire?
47 Lembrai-vos como é curta a nossa vida, quão efêmeros os homens que criastes.	47 Remember me; how long have I left? For what pointless end did you create al the children of Adam?
48 Qual é o vivo que se livra da morte, ou pode subtrair a sua alma ao poder da morada dos mortos?	48 Who can live and never see death? Who can save himself from the clutches of Sheol?Pause
49 Vossas bondades de outrora, ó Senhor, onde estão? E os juramentos que a Davi fizestes de fidelidade?	49 Lord, what of those pledges of your faithful love? You made an oath to David by your constancy.
50 Considerai, Senhor, a vergonha imposta aos vossos servidores. Levo em meu seio ultrajes das nações pagãs,	50 Do not forget the insults to your servant; I take to heart the taunts of the nations,
51 insultos de vossos inimigos, Senhor, injúrias que lançam até nos passos daquele que vos é consagrado.	51 which your enemies have level ed, Yahweh, have level ed at the footsteps of your anointed!
52 Bendito seja o Senhor eternamente! Amém! Amém!	52 Blessed be Yahweh for ever. Amen, Amen.
