Exodus 35

VULGATA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Igitur congregata omni turba filiorum Israël, dixit ad eos : Hæc sunt quæ jussit Dominus fieri.	1 Moses assembled the whole community of Israelites and said, 'These are the things Yahweh hasordered to be done:
2 Sex diebus facietis opus : septimus dies erit vobis sanctus, sabbatum, et requies Domini : qui fecerit opus in eo, occidetur.	2 Work must be done for six days, but the seventh must be a holy day for you, a day of complete rest, inhonour of Yahweh. Anyone who does any work on that day wil be put to death.
3 Non succendetis ignem in omnibus habitaculis vestris per diem sabbati.	3 You will not light a fire on the Sabbath day in any of your homes.'
4 Et ait Moyses ad omnem catervam filiorum Israël : Iste est sermo quem præcepit Dominus, dicens :	4 Moses spoke to the whole community of Israelites. 'This', he said, 'is what Yahweh has ordered:
5 Separate apud vos primitias Domino. Omnis voluntarius et prono animo offerat eas Domino : aurum et argentum, et æs,	5 Set aside a contribution for Yahweh out of your possessions. Everyone whose heart prompts him to doso should bring a contribution for Yahweh: gold, silver and bronze;
6 hyacinthum et purpuram, coccumque bis tinctum, et byssum, pilos caprarum,	6 materials dyed violet-purple, red-purple and crimson, finely woven linen, goats' hair,
7 pellesque arietum rubricatas, et janthinas, ligna setim,	7 rams' skins dyed red, fine leather, acacia wood,
8 et oleum ad luminaria concinnanda, et ut conficiatur unguentum, et thymiama suavissimum,	8 oil for the light, spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense;
9 lapides onychinos, et gemmas ad ornatum superhumeralis et rationalis.	9 cornelian and other stones to be set in the ephod and breastplate.
10 Quisque vestrum sapiens est, veniat, et faciat quod Dominus imperavit :	10 And al those of you who have the skil must come and make everything that Yahweh has ordered:
11 tabernaculum scilicet, et tectum ejus, atque operimentum, annulos, et tabulata cum vectibus, paxillos, et bases :	11 the Dwel ing, its tent and its covering, its clasps and its frames, its crossbars, its pillars and itssockets;
12 arcam et vectes, propitiatorium, et velum, quod ante illud oppanditur :	12 the ark, its shafts and al its accessories, the mercy-seat and the screening curtain;
13 mensam cum vectibus et vasis, et propositionis panibus :	13 the table, its shafts and al its accessories, and the loaves of permanent offering;
14 candelabrum ad luminaria sustentanda, vasa illius et lucernas, et oleum ad nutrimenta ignium :	14 the lamp-stand for the light, its accessories, its lamps, and the oil for the light;
15 altare thymiamatis, et vectes, et oleum unctionis et thymiama ex aromatibus : tentorium ad ostium tabernaculi :	15 the altar of incense and its shafts, the anointing oil, the fragrant incense, and the screen for theentrance, for the entrance of the tent;
16 altare holocausti, et craticulam ejus æneam cum vectibus et vasis suis : labrum et basim ejus :	16 the altar of burnt offerings and its bronze grating, its shafts, and all its accessories; the basin and itsstand;
17 cortinas atrii cum columnis et basibus, tentorium in foribus vestibuli,	17 the curtaining for the court, its poles, its sockets, and the screen for the entrance to the court;
18 paxillos tabernaculi et atrii cum funiculis suis :	18 the pegs for the Dwel ing and the pegs for the court, and their cords;
19 vestimenta, quorum usus est in ministerio sanctuarii, vestes Aaron pontificis ac filiorum ejus, ut sacerdotio fungantur mihi.	19 the liturgical vestments for service in the sanctuary -- the sacred vestments for Aaron the priest, andthe vestments for his sons, for their priestly functions.'
20 Egressaque omnis multitudo filiorum Israël de conspectu Moysi,	20 The whole community of Israelites then withdrew from Moses' presence.
21 obtulerunt mente promptissima atque devota primitias Domino, ad faciendum opus tabernaculi testimonii. Quidquid ad cultum et ad vestes sanctas necessarium erat,	21 And al those whose heart stirred them and al those whose spirit prompted them brought acontribution for Yahweh, for the work on the Tent of Meeting, for its general service and for the sacredvestments.
22 viri cum mulieribus præbuerunt, armillas et inaures, annulos et dextralia : omne vas aureum in donaria Domini separatum est.	22 Men and women, they came, al those whose heart prompted them, bringing brooches, rings,bracelets, necklaces, golden objects of every kind -- all those who had vowed gold to Yahweh,
23 Si quis habebat hyacinthum, et purpuram, coccumque bis tinctum, byssum et pilos caprarum, pelles arietum rubricatas, et janthinas,	23 while al those who happened to own violet-purple, red-purple or crimson materials, finely wovenlinen, goats' hair, rams' skins dyed red, or fine leather, brought that.
24 argenti, ærisque metalla, obtulerunt Domino, lignaque setim in varios usus.	24 Al those offering a contribution of silver or bronze brought their contribution for Yahweh and al whohappened to own acacia wood, suitable for any of the work to be done, brought that.
25 Sed et mulieres doctæ, quæ neverant, dederunt hyacinthum, purpuram, et vermiculum, ac byssum,	25 Al the skil ed women set their hands to spinning, and brought what they had spun: violet-purple, red-purple or crimson materials, and fine linen,
26 et pilos caprarum, sponte propria cuncta tribuentes.	26 while al those women whose heart stirred them by virtue of their skil , spun goats' hair.
27 Principes vero obtulerunt lapides onychinos, et gemmas ad superhumerale et rationale,	27 The leaders brought cornelians and other stones to be set in the ephod and breastplate,
28 aromataque et oleum ad luminaria concinnanda, et ad præparandum unguentum, ac thymiama odoris suavissimi componendum.	28 and the spices and oil for the light, for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense.
29 Omnes viri et mulieres mente devota obtulerunt donaria, ut fierent opera, quæ jusserat Dominus per manum Moysi. Cuncti filii Israël voluntaria Domino dedicaverunt.	29 Al those Israelites, men and women, whose heart prompted them to contribute to the entire work thatYahweh had ordered through Moses to be done, brought a contribution to Yahweh.
30 Dixitque Moyses ad filios Israël : Ecce, vocavit Dominus ex nomine Beseleel filium Uri, filii Hur de tribu Juda,	30 Moses then said to the Israelites, 'Look, Yahweh has singled out Bezalel son of Uri, son of Hur, of thetribe of Judah,
31 implevitque eum spiritu Dei, sapientia et intelligentia, et scientia et omni doctrina,	31 and has filled him with the spirit of God in wisdom, knowledge and skil in every kind of craft:
32 ad excogitandum, et faciendum opus in auro, et argento, et ære,	32 in designing and carrying out work in gold and silver and bronze,
33 sculpendisque lapidibus, et opere carpentario, quidquid fabre adinveniri potest,	33 in cutting stones to be set, in wood carving and in executing every kind of work.
34 dedit in corde ejus : Ooliab quoque filium Achisamech de tribu Dan :	34 And on him and on Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, he has bestowed the gift ofteaching,
35 ambos erudivit sapientia, ut faciant opera abietarii, polymitarii, ac plumarii, de hyacintho ac purpura, coccoque bis tincto, et bysso, et texant omnia, ac nova quæque reperiant.	35 and filled them with the skill to carry out every kind of work, that of the engraver, that of theembroiderer, that of the needleworker in violet-purple, red-purple and crimson materials and fine linen, that of theweaver, and indeed that of every kind of craftsman and designer.'
