SMITH VAN DYKE	NEW JERUSALEM
1 وهذه مواليد بني نوح. سام وحام ويافث. وولد لهم بنون بعد الطوفان.	1 These are the descendants of Noah's sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth, to whom sons were born afterthe flood:
2 بنو يافث جومر وماجوج وماداي وياوان وتوبال وماشك وتيراس.	2 Japheth's sons: Gomer, Magog, the Medes, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, Tiras.
3 وبنو جومر اشكناز وريفاث وتوجرمة.	3 Gomer's sons: Ashkenaz, Riphath, Togarmah.
4 وبنو ياوان أليشة وترشيش وكتّيم ودودانيم.	4 Javan's sons: Elishah, Tarshish, the Kittim, the Dananites.
5 من هؤلاء تفرقت جزائر الامم باراضيهم كل انسان كلسانه حسب قبائلهم باممهم	5 From these came the dispersal to the islands of the nations. These were Japheth's sons, in theirrespective countries, each with its own language, by clan and nation.
6 وبنو حام كوش ومصرايم وفوط وكنعان.	6 Ham's sons: Cush, Mizraim, Put, Canaan.
7 وبنو كوش سبا وحويلة وسبتة ورعمة وسبتكا. وبنو رعمة شبا وددان.	7 Cush's sons: Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, Sabteca. Raamah's sons: Sheba, Dedan.
8 وكوش ولد نمرود الذي ابتدأ يكون جبارا في الارض.	8 Cush fathered Nimrod who was the first potentate on earth.
9 الذي كان جبار صيد امام الرب. لذلك يقال كنمرود جبار صيد امام الرب.	9 He was a mighty hunter in the eyes of Yahweh, hence the saying, 'Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter in theeyes of Yahweh'.
10 وكان ابتداء مملكته بابل وآرك واكّد وكلنة في ارض شنعار.	10 The mainstays of his empire were Babel, Erech and Accad, all of them in the land of Shinar.
11 من تلك الارض خرج اشور وبنى نينوى ورحوبوث عير وكالح	11 From this country came Asshur, and he built Nineveh, Rehoboth-Ir, Calah,
12 ورسن بين نينوى وكالح. هي المدينة الكبيرة.	12 and Resen between Nineveh and Calah (this being the capital).
13 ومصرايم ولد لوديم وعناميم ولهابيم ونفتوحيم	13 Mizraim fathered the people of Lud, of Anam, Lehab, Naphtuh,
14 وفتروسيم وكسلوحيم. الذين خرج منهم فلشتيم وكفتوريم.	14 Pathros, Casluh and Caphtor, from which the Philistines came.
15 وكنعان ولد صيدون بكره وحثّا	15 Canaan fathered Sidon, his first-born, then Heth,
16 واليبوسي والاموري والجرجاشيّ	16 and the Jebusites, the Amorites, Girgashites,
17 والحّويّ والعرقيّ والسّينيّ	17 Hivites, Arkites, Sinites,
18 والأرواديّ والصّماريّ والحماثيّ. وبعد ذلك تفرقت قبائل الكنعاني.	18 Arvadites, Zemarites and Hamathites. Later, the Canaanite clans spread out.
19 وكانت تخوم الكنعاني من صيدون حينما تجيء نحو جرار الى غزّة وحينما تجيء نحو سدوم وعمورة وأدمة وصبوييم الى لاشع.	19 The Canaanite frontier stretched from Sidon al the way to Gerar near Gaza, and al the way toSodom, Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboi m near Lesha.
20 هؤلاء بنو حام حسب قبائلهم كالسنتهم باراضيهم واممهم	20 These were Ham's sons, by clans and languages, by countries and nations.
21 وسام ابو كل بني عابر اخو يافث الكبير ولد له ايضا بنون.	21 Shem too fathered sons, being ancestor of all the sons of Eber and Japheth's elder brother.
22 بنو سام عيلام واشور وارفكشاد ولود وارام.	22 Shem's sons: Elam, Asshur, Arpachshad, Lud, Aram.
23 وبنو ارام عوص وحول وجاثر وماش.	23 Aram's sons: Uz, Hul, Gether and Mash.
24 وارفكشاد ولد شالح وشالح ولد عابر.	24 Arpachshad fathered Shelah, and Shelah fathered Eber.
25 ولعابر ولد ابنان . ‎اسم الواحد فالج لان في ايامه قسمت الارض. واسم اخيه يقطان.	25 To Eber were born two sons: the first was cal ed Peleg, because it was in his time that the earth wasdivided, and his brother was called Joktan.
26 ويقطان ولد ألموداد وشالف وحضرموت ويارح	26 Joktan fathered Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah,
27 وهدورام واوزال ودقلة	27 Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah,
28 وعوبال وأبيمايل وشبا	28 Obal, Abima-El, Sheba,
29 وأوفير وحويلة ويوباب. جميع هؤلاء بنو يقطان.	29 Ophir, Havilah, Jobab; al these were sons of Joktan.
30 وكان مسكنهم من ميشا حينما تجيء نحو سفار جبل المشرق.	30 They occupied a stretch of country from Mesha all the way to Sephar, the eastern mountain range.
31 هؤلاء بنو سام حسب قبائلهم كالسنتهم باراضيهم حسب اممهم	31 These were Shem's sons, by clans and languages, by countries and nations.
32 هؤلاء قبائل بني نوح حسب مواليدهم باممهم. ومن هؤلاء تفرقت الامم في الارض بعد الطوفان	32 Such were the clans of Noah's descendants, listed by descent and nation. From them, other nationsbranched out on earth after the flood.
