Lettera agli Ebrei 13

BIBBIA CEI 1974	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Perseverate nell'amore fraterno.	1 Continue to love each other like brothers,
2 Non dimenticate l'ospitalità; alcuni, praticandola, hanno accolto degli angeli senza saperlo.	2 and remember always to welcome strangers, for by doing this, some people have entertained angelswithout knowing it.
3 Ricordatevi dei carcerati, come se foste loro compagni di carcere, e di quelli che soffrono, essendo anche voi in un corpo mortale.	3 Keep in mind those who are in prison, as though you were in prison with them; and those who arebeing badly treated, since you too are in the body.
4 Il matrimonio sia rispettato da tutti e il talamo sia senza macchia. I fornicatori e gli adùlteri saranno giudicati da Dio.	4 Marriage must be honoured by al , and marriages must be kept undefiled, because the sexuallyimmoral and adulterers wil come under God's judgement.
5 La vostra condotta sia senza avarizia; accontentatevi di quello che avete, perché Dio stesso ha detto: 'Non ti lascerò e non ti abbandonerò'.	5 Put avarice out of your lives and be content with whatever you have; God himself has said: I shal notfail you or desert you,
6 Così possiamo dire con fiducia: 'Il Signore è il mio aiuto, non temerò. Che mi potrà fare l'uomo?'	6 and so we can say with confidence: With the Lord on my side, I fear nothing: what can human beingsdo to me?
7 Ricordatevi dei vostri capi, i quali vi hanno annunziato la parola di Dio; considerando attentamente l'esito del loro tenore di vita, imitatene la fede.	7 Remember your leaders, who preached the word of God to you, and as you reflect on the outcome oftheir lives, take their faith as your model.
8 Gesù Cristo è lo stesso ieri, oggi e sempre!	8 Jesus Christ is the same today as he was yesterday and as he wil be for ever.
9 Non lasciatevi sviare da dottrine diverse e peregrine, perché è bene che il cuore venga rinsaldato dalla grazia, non da cibi che non hanno mai recato giovamento a coloro che ne usarono.	9 Do not be led astray by al sorts of strange doctrines: it is better to rely on grace for inner strength thanon food, which has done no good to those who concentrate on it.
10 Noi abbiamo un altare del quale non hanno alcun diritto di mangiare quelli che sono al servizio del Tabernacolo.	10 We have our own altar from which those who serve the Tent have no right to eat.
11 Infatti i corpi degli animali, il cui sangue vien portato nel santuario dal sommo sacerdote per i peccati, vengono bruciati fuori dell'accampamento.	11 The bodies of the animals whose blood is taken into the sanctuary by the high priest for the rite ofexpiation are burnt outside the camp,
12 Perciò anche Gesù, per santificare il popolo con il proprio sangue, patì fuori della porta della città.	12 and so Jesus too suffered outside the gate to sanctify the people with his own blood.
13 Usciamo dunque anche noi dall'accampamento e andiamo verso di lui, portando il suo obbrobrio,	13 Let us go to him, then, outside the camp, and bear his humiliation.
14 perché non abbiamo quaggiù una città stabile, ma cerchiamo quella futura.	14 There is no permanent city for us here; we are looking for the one which is yet to be.
15 Per mezzo di lui dunque offriamo continuamente un sacrificio di lode a Dio, cioè il frutto di labbra che confessano il suo nome.	15 Through him, let us offer God an unending sacrifice of praise, the fruit of the lips of those whoacknowledge his name.
16 Non scordatevi della beneficenza e di far parte dei vostri beni agli altri, perché di tali sacrifici il Signore si compiace.	16 Keep doing good works and sharing your resources, for these are the kinds of sacrifice that pleaseGod.
17 Obbedite ai vostri capi e state loro sottomessi, perché essi vegliano su di voi, come chi ha da renderne conto; obbedite, perché facciano questo con gioia e non gemendo: ciò non sarebbe vantaggioso per voi.	17 Obey your leaders and give way to them; they watch over your souls because they must give anaccount of them; make this a joy for them to do, and not a grief -- you yourselves would be the losers.
18 Pregate per noi, poiché crediamo di avere una buona coscienza, desiderando di comportarci bene in tutto.	18 Pray for us; we are sure that our own conscience is clear and we are certainly determined to behavehonourably in everything we do.
19 Con maggiore insistenza poi vi esorto a farlo, perché possa esservi restituito al più presto.	19 I ask you very particularly to pray that I may come back to you all the sooner.
20 Il Dio della pace che ha fatto tornare dai morti il Pastore grande delle pecore, 'in virtù del sangue di un'alleanza eterna', il Signore nostro Gesù,	20 I pray that the God of peace, who brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd ofthe sheep, by the blood that sealed an eternal covenant,
21 vi renda perfetti in ogni bene, perché possiate compiere la sua volontà, operando in voi ciò che a lui è gradito per mezzo di Gesù Cristo, al quale sia gloria nei secoli dei secoli. Amen.	21 may prepare you to do his wil in every kind of good action; effecting in us al whatever is acceptableto himself through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
22 Vi raccomando, fratelli, accogliete questa parola di esortazione; proprio per questo molto brevemente vi ho scritto.	22 I urge you, brothers, to take these words of encouragement kindly; that is why I have written to youbriefly.
23 Sappiate che il nostro fratello Timòteo è stato messo in libertà; se arriva presto, vi vedrò insieme con lui.	23 I want you to know that our brother Timothy has been set free. If he arrives in time, he will be with mewhen I see you.
24 Salutate tutti i vostri capi e tutti i santi. Vi salutano quelli d'Italia. La grazia sia con tutti voi.	24 Greetings to al your leaders and to al God's holy people. God's holy people in Italy send yougreetings.
