1 Anch'io, o fratelli, quando sono venuto tra voi, non mi sono presentato ad annunziarvi la testimonianza di Dio con sublimità di parola o di sapienza.	1 Now when I came to you, brothers, I did not come with any brilliance of oratory or wise argument toannounce to you the mystery of God.
2 Io ritenni infatti di non sapere altro in mezzo a voi se non Gesù Cristo, e questi crocifisso.	2 I was resolved that the only knowledge I would have while I was with you was knowledge of Jesus, andof him as the crucified Christ.
3 Io venni in mezzo a voi in debolezza e con molto timore e trepidazione;	3 I came among you in weakness, in fear and great trembling
4 e la mia parola e il mio messaggio non si basarono su discorsi persuasivi di sapienza, ma sulla manifestazione dello Spirito e della sua potenza,	4 and what I spoke and proclaimed was not meant to convince by philosophical argument, but todemonstrate the convincing power of the Spirit,
5 perché la vostra fede non fosse fondata sulla sapienza umana, ma sulla potenza di Dio.	5 so that your faith should depend not on human wisdom but on the power of God.
6 Tra i perfetti parliamo, sì, di sapienza, ma di una sapienza che non è di questo mondo, né dei dominatori di questo mondo che vengono ridotti al nulla;	6 But stil , to those who have reached maturity, we do talk of a wisdom, not, it is true, a philosophy of thisage or of the rulers of this age, who will not last long now.
7 parliamo di una sapienza divina, misteriosa, che è rimasta nascosta, e che Dio ha preordinato prima dei secoli per la nostra gloria.	7 It is of the mysterious wisdom of God that we talk, the wisdom that was hidden, which God predestinedto be for our glory before the ages began.
8 Nessuno dei dominatori di questo mondo ha potuto conoscerla; se l'avessero conosciuta, non avrebbero crocifisso il Signore della gloria.	8 None of the rulers of the age recognised it; for if they had recognised it, they would not have crucifiedthe Lord of glory;
9 Sta scritto infatti: 'Quelle cose che occhio non vide, né orecchio udì, né mai entrarono in cuore di uomo, queste ha preparato Dio per coloro che lo amano'.	9 but it is as scripture says: What no eye has seen and no ear has heard, what the mind of man cannotvisualise; al that God has prepared for those who love him;
10 Ma a noi Dio le ha rivelate per mezzo dello Spirito; lo Spirito infatti scruta ogni cosa, anche le profondità di Dio.	10 to us, though, God has given revelation through the Spirit, for the Spirit explores the depths ofeverything, even the depths of God.
11 Chi conosce i segreti dell'uomo se non lo spirito dell'uomo che è in lui? Così anche i segreti di Dio nessuno li ha mai potuti conoscere se non lo Spirito di Dio.	11 After al , is there anyone who knows the qualities of anyone except his own spirit, within him; and inthe same way, nobody knows the qualities of God except the Spirit of God.
12 Ora, noi non abbiamo ricevuto lo spirito del mondo, ma lo Spirito di Dio per conoscere tutto ciò che Dio ci ha donato.	12 Now, the Spirit we have received is not the spirit of the world but God's own Spirit, so that we mayunderstand the lavish gifts God has given us.
13 Di queste cose noi parliamo, non con un linguaggio suggerito dalla sapienza umana, ma insegnato dallo Spirito, esprimendo cose spirituali in termini spirituali.	13 And these are what we speak of, not in the terms learnt from human philosophy, but in terms learntfrom the Spirit, fitting spiritual language to spiritual things.
14 L'uomo naturale però non comprende le cose dello Spirito di Dio; esse sono follia per lui, e non è capace di intenderle, perché se ne può giudicare solo per mezzo dello Spirito.	14 The natural person has no room for the gifts of God's Spirit; to him they are folly; he cannot recognisethem, because their value can be assessed only in the Spirit.
15 L'uomo spirituale invece giudica ogni cosa, senza poter essere giudicato da nessuno.	15 The spiritual person, on the other hand, can assess the value of everything, and that person's valuecannot be assessed by anybody else.
16 'Chi infatti ha conosciuto il pensiero del Signore in modo da poterlo dirigere'? Ora, noi abbiamo il pensiero di Cristo.	16 For: who has ever known the mind of the Lord? Who has ever been his adviser? But we are thosewho have the mind of Christ.
