1 Voici la descendance des fils de Noé: Sem, Kam et Japhet, lesquels engendrèrent des fils après le déluge.	1 These are the descendants of Noah's sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth, to whom sons were born afterthe flood:
2 Fils de Japhet: Gomer, Magog, les Mèdes, Yavan, Toubal, Méchek, Tiras.	2 Japheth's sons: Gomer, Magog, the Medes, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, Tiras.
3 Fils de Gomer: Achkénaz, Riphat, Togorma.	3 Gomer's sons: Ashkenaz, Riphath, Togarmah.
4 Fils de Yavan: Élicha, Tarsis, Kittim, les Dananéens.	4 Javan's sons: Elishah, Tarshish, the Kittim, the Dananites.
5 C’est à partir d’eux que se fit la dispersion dans les îles lointaines. Ce sont là les fils de Japhet d’après leurs pays, selon leurs langues, leurs clans et leurs nations.	5 From these came the dispersal to the islands of the nations. These were Japheth's sons, in theirrespective countries, each with its own language, by clan and nation.
6 Fils de Kam: Kouch, Misraïm, Pout, Canaan.	6 Ham's sons: Cush, Mizraim, Put, Canaan.
7 Fils de Kouch: Séba, Havila, Sabta, Rama, Sabtéka. Fils de Rama: Chéba, Dédan.	7 Cush's sons: Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, Sabteca. Raamah's sons: Sheba, Dedan.
8 Kouch engendra Nemrod qui fut le premier héros sur la terre.	8 Cush fathered Nimrod who was the first potentate on earth.
9 C’était un vaillant chasseur devant Yahvé. C’est pour cela que l’on dit: “Vaillant chasseur devant Yahvé comme Nemrod.”	9 He was a mighty hunter in the eyes of Yahweh, hence the saying, 'Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter in theeyes of Yahweh'.
10 Ceux qui soutenaient son empire étaient: Babel, Érek, et Akkad. Toutes ces villes sont au pays de Chinéar.	10 The mainstays of his empire were Babel, Erech and Accad, all of them in the land of Shinar.
11 De ce pays sortit Assur, c’est lui qui construisit Ninive, Réhobot-Ir, Kala	11 From this country came Asshur, and he built Nineveh, Rehoboth-Ir, Calah,
12 et Résèn entre Ninive et Kala (c’est une grande ville).	12 and Resen between Nineveh and Calah (this being the capital).
13 Misraïm engendra les gens de Loud, d’Anam, de Léhab, de Naftou,	13 Mizraim fathered the people of Lud, of Anam, Lehab, Naphtuh,
14 de Patros, de Kaslou et de Kaftor, d’où sont sortis les Philistins.	14 Pathros, Casluh and Caphtor, from which the Philistines came.
15 Canaan engendra Sidon qui fut son premier-né, puis Heth,	15 Canaan fathered Sidon, his first-born, then Heth,
16 et le Jébusite, l’Amorite, le Guirgachite,	16 and the Jebusites, the Amorites, Girgashites,
17 le Hivvite, l’Arkite, le Sinite,	17 Hivites, Arkites, Sinites,
18 l’Arvadite, le Sémarite, le Hamatite. Ensuite les clans Cananéens se dispersèrent.	18 Arvadites, Zemarites and Hamathites. Later, the Canaanite clans spread out.
19 La frontière des Cananéens partait de Sidon vers Guérar jusqu’à Gaza, et vers Sodome, Gomorrhe, Adma et Séboyim jusqu’à Lécha.	19 The Canaanite frontier stretched from Sidon al the way to Gerar near Gaza, and al the way toSodom, Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboi m near Lesha.
20 Ce sont là les fils de Kam, selon leurs clans et leurs langues, leurs pays et leurs nations.	20 These were Ham's sons, by clans and languages, by countries and nations.
21 Sem eut également une descendance. Il est l’ancêtre de tous les fils de Éber et le frère aîné de Japhet.	21 Shem too fathered sons, being ancestor of all the sons of Eber and Japheth's elder brother.
22 Fils de Sem: Élam, Assur, Arpakchad, Loud, Aram.	22 Shem's sons: Elam, Asshur, Arpachshad, Lud, Aram.
23 Fils d’Aram: Ous, Houl, Guéter et Mach.	23 Aram's sons: Uz, Hul, Gether and Mash.
24 Arpakchad engendra Chéla et Chéla engendra Éber.	24 Arpachshad fathered Shelah, and Shelah fathered Eber.
25 Éber eut deux fils. Le premier s’appelait Péleg, c’est en son temps que la terre fut divisée. Son frère s’appelait Yoktan.	25 To Eber were born two sons: the first was cal ed Peleg, because it was in his time that the earth wasdivided, and his brother was called Joktan.
26 Yoktan engendra Almodad, Chélef, Assarmavet, Yéra,	26 Joktan fathered Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah,
27 Adoram, Ouzal, Dikla,	27 Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah,
28 Obal, Abimaël, Chéba,	28 Obal, Abima-El, Sheba,
29 Ofir, Havila, Yobab. Ce sont là tous les fils de Yoktan.	29 Ophir, Havilah, Jobab; al these were sons of Joktan.
30 Ils habitaient à partir de Mécha en allant vers Séfar, la montagne de l’Orient.	30 They occupied a stretch of country from Mesha all the way to Sephar, the eastern mountain range.
31 Ce sont les fils de Sem selon leurs clans et leurs langues, leurs pays et leurs nations.	31 These were Shem's sons, by clans and languages, by countries and nations.
32 Voilà les descendants de Noé selon leurs lignées et leurs nations. C’est à partir d’eux que les peuples se dispersèrent sur la terre après le déluge.	32 Such were the clans of Noah's descendants, listed by descent and nation. From them, other nationsbranched out on earth after the flood.
