| 1 El espíritu me elevó y me condujo al pórtico oriental de la Casa de Yahveh, el que mira a oriente. Y he aquí que a la entrada del pórtico había veinticinco hombres, entre los cuales vi a Yazanías, hijo de Azzur, y a Pelatías, hijo de Benaías, jefes del pueblo. | 1 The Spirit lifted me up, and brought me to the east gate of the house of the LORD, which faces east. And behold, at the door of the gateway there were twenty-five men; and I saw among them Ja-azaniah the son of Azzur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the people. |
| 2 El me dijo: «Hijo de hombre, éstos son los hombres que maquinan el mal, que dan malos consejos en esta ciudad. | 2 And he said to me, "Son of man, these are the men who devise iniquity and who give wicked counsel in this city; |
| 3 Dicen: “¡No es para pronto el construir casas! Ella es la olla y nosotros somos la carne.” | 3 who say, 'The time is not near to build houses; this city is the caldron, and we are the flesh.' |
| 4 Por eso, profetiza contra ellos, profetiza, hijo de hombre». | 4 Therefore prophesy against them, prophesy, O son of man." |
| 5 El espíritu de Yahveh irrumpió en mí y me dijo: «Di: Así dice Yahveh: Eso es lo que habéis dicho, casa de Israel, conozco bien vuestra insolencia. | 5 And the Spirit of the LORD fell upon me, and he said to me, "Say, Thus says the LORD: So you think, O house of Israel; for I know the things that come into your mind. |
| 6 Habéis multiplicado vuestras víctimas en esta ciudad; habéis llenado de víctimas sus calles. | 6 You have multiplied your slain in this city, and have filled its streets with the slain. |
| 7 Por eso, así dice el Señor Yahveh: Las víctimas que habéis tirado en medio de ella son la carne, y ella es la olla; pero yo os haré salir de ella. | 7 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Your slain whom you have laid in the midst of it, they are the flesh, and this city is the caldron; but you shall be brought forth out of the midst of it. |
| 8 Teméis la espada, pues yo traeré espada contra vosotros, oráculo del Señor Yahveh. | 8 You have feared the sword; and I will bring the sword upon you, says the Lord GOD. |
| 9 Os sacaré de la ciudad, os entregaré en mano de extranjeros, y haré justicia de vosotros. | 9 And I will bring you forth out of the midst of it, and give you into the hands of foreigners, and execute judgments upon you. |
| 10 A espada caeréis; en el término de Israel os juzgaré yo, y sabréis que yo soy Yahveh. | 10 You shall fall by the sword; I will judge you at the border of Israel; and you shall know that I am the LORD. |
| 11 Esta ciudad no será olla para vosotros, ni vosotros seréis carne en medio de ella; dentro del término de Israel os juzgaré yo. | 11 This city shall not be your caldron, nor shall you be the flesh in the midst of it; I will judge you at the border of Israel; |
| 12 Y sabréis que yo soy Yahveh cuyos preceptos no habéis seguido y cuyas normas no habéis guardado - por el contrario habíes obrado según las normas de las naciones que os circundan». | 12 and you shall know that I am the LORD; for you have not walked in my statutes, nor executed my ordinances, but have acted according to the ordinances of the nations that are round about you." |
| 13 En esto, mientras yo estaba profetizando, Pelatías, hijo de Benaías, murió. Yo caí rostro en tierra y grité con voz fuerte: «¡Ah, Señor Yahveh!, ¿vas a aniquilar al resto de Israel?» | 13 And it came to pass, while I was prophesying, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then I fell down upon my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, "Ah Lord GOD! wilt thou make a full end of the remnant of Israel?" |
| 14 Entonces me fue dirigida la palabra de Yahveh en estos términos: | 14 And the word of the LORD came to me: |
| 15 «Hijo de hombre; de cada uno de tus hermanos, de tus parientes y de toda la casa de Israel, dicen los habitantes de Jerusalén: Seguid lejos de Yahveh; a nosotros se nos ha dado esta tierra en posesión. | 15 "Son of man, your brethren, even your brethren, your fellow exiles, the whole house of Israel, all of them, are those of whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said, 'They have gone far from the LORD; to us this land is given for a possession.' |
| 16 Por eso, di: Así dice el Señor Yahveh: Sí, yo los he alejado entre las naciones, y los he dispersado por los países, pero yo he sido un santuario para ellos, por poco tiempo, en los países adonde han ido. | 16 Therefore say, 'Thus says the Lord GOD: Though I removed them far off among the nations, and though I scattered them among the countries, yet I have been a sanctuary to them for a while in the countries where they have gone.' |
| 17 Por eso, di: Así dice el Señor Yahveh: Yo os recogeré de en medio de los pueblos, os congregaré de los países en los que habéis sido dispersados, y os daré la tierra de Israel. | 17 Therefore say, 'Thus says the Lord GOD: I will gather you from the peoples, and assemble you out of the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.' |
| 18 Vendrán y quitarán de ella todos sus monstruos y abominaciones; | 18 And when they come there, they will remove from it all its detestable things and all its abominations. |
| 19 yo les daré un solo corazón y pondré en ellos un espíritu nuevo: quitaré de su carne el corazón de piedra y les daré un corazón de carne, | 19 And I will give them one heart, and put a new spirit within them; I will take the stony heart out of their flesh and give them a heart of flesh, |
| 20 para que caminen según mis preceptos, observen mis normas y las pongan en práctica, y así sean mi pueblo y yo sea su Dios. | 20 that they may walk in my statutes and keep my ordinances and obey them; and they shall be my people, and I will be their God. |
| 21 En cuanto a aquellos cuyo corazón va en pos de sus monstruos y abominaciones, yo haré recaer su conducta sobre su cabeza, oráculo del Señor Yahveh». | 21 But as for those whose heart goes after their detestable things and their abominations, I will requite their deeds upon their own heads, says the Lord GOD." |
| 22 Los querubines desplegaron sus alas y las ruedas les siguieron, mientras la gloria del Dios de Israel estaba encima de ellos. | 22 Then the cherubim lifted up their wings, with the wheels beside them; and the glory of the God of Israel was over them. |
| 23 La gloria de Yahveh se elevó de en medio de la ciudad y se detuvo sobre el monte que está al oriente de la ciudad. | 23 And the glory of the LORD went up from the midst of the city, and stood upon the mountain which is on the east side of the city. |
| 24 El espíritu me elevó y me llevó a Caldea, donde los desterrados, en visión, en el espíritu de Dios; y la visión que había contemplado se retiró de mí. | 24 And the Spirit lifted me up and brought me in the vision by the Spirit of God into Chaldea, to the exiles. Then the vision that I had seen went up from me. |
| 25 Yo conté a los desterrados todo lo que Yahveh me había dado a ver. | 25 And I told the exiles all the things that the LORD had showed me. |
