BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Esta es la descendencia de los hijos de Noé, Sem, Cam y Jafet, a quienes les nacieron hijos después del diluvio:	1 These are the descendants of Noah's sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth, to whom sons were born afterthe flood:
2 Hijos de Jafet: Gomer, Magog, los medos, Yaván, Túbal, Mések y Tirás.	2 Japheth's sons: Gomer, Magog, the Medes, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, Tiras.
3 Hijos de Gomer: Askanaz, Rifat, Togarmá.	3 Gomer's sons: Ashkenaz, Riphath, Togarmah.
4 Hijos de Yaván: Elisá, Tarsis, los Kittim y los Dodanim.	4 Javan's sons: Elishah, Tarshish, the Kittim, the Dananites.
5 A partir de éstos se poblaron las islas de las gentes. Estos fueron los hijos de Jafet por sus territorios y lenguas, por sus linajes y naciones respectivas.	5 From these came the dispersal to the islands of the nations. These were Japheth's sons, in theirrespective countries, each with its own language, by clan and nation.
6 Hijos de Cam: Kus, Misráyim, Put y Canaán.	6 Ham's sons: Cush, Mizraim, Put, Canaan.
7 Hijos de Kus: Seba, Javilá, Sabtá, Ramá y Sabteká. Hijos de Ramá: Seba y Dedán.	7 Cush's sons: Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, Sabteca. Raamah's sons: Sheba, Dedan.
8 Kus engendró a Nemrod, que fue el primero que se hizo prepotente en la tierra.	8 Cush fathered Nimrod who was the first potentate on earth.
9 Fue un bravo cazador delante de Yahveh, por lo cual se suele decir: «Bravo cazador delante de Yahveh, como Nemrod.»	9 He was a mighty hunter in the eyes of Yahweh, hence the saying, 'Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter in theeyes of Yahweh'.
10 Los comienzos de su reino fueron Babel, Erek y Acad, ciudades todas ellas en tierra de Senaar.	10 The mainstays of his empire were Babel, Erech and Accad, all of them in the land of Shinar.
11 De aquella tierra procedía Asur, que edificó Nínive, Rejobot Ir, Kálaj	11 From this country came Asshur, and he built Nineveh, Rehoboth-Ir, Calah,
12 y Resen, entre Nínive y Kálaj (aquella es la Gran Ciudad).	12 and Resen between Nineveh and Calah (this being the capital).
13 Misráyim engendró a los luditas, anamitas, lehabitas y naftujitas,	13 Mizraim fathered the people of Lud, of Anam, Lehab, Naphtuh,
14 a los de Patrós, de Kasluj y de Kaftor, de donde salieron los filisteos.	14 Pathros, Casluh and Caphtor, from which the Philistines came.
15 Canaán engendró a Sidón, su primogénito, y a Het,	15 Canaan fathered Sidon, his first-born, then Heth,
16 al jebuseo, al amorreo, al guirgasita,	16 and the Jebusites, the Amorites, Girgashites,
17 al jivita, al arqueo, al sineo,	17 Hivites, Arkites, Sinites,
18 al arvadeo, al semareo y al jamateo. Más tarde se propagaron las estirpes cananeas.	18 Arvadites, Zemarites and Hamathites. Later, the Canaanite clans spread out.
19 La frontera de los cananeos iba desde Sidón, en dirección de Guerar, hasta Gaza; y en dirección de Sodoma, Gomorra, Admá y Seboyim, hasta Lesa.	19 The Canaanite frontier stretched from Sidon al the way to Gerar near Gaza, and al the way toSodom, Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboi m near Lesha.
20 Estos fueron los hijos de Cam, según sus linajes y lenguas, por sus territorios y naciones respectivas.	20 These were Ham's sons, by clans and languages, by countries and nations.
21 También le nacieron hijos a Sem, padre de todos los hijos de Héber y hermano mayor de Jafet.	21 Shem too fathered sons, being ancestor of all the sons of Eber and Japheth's elder brother.
22 Hijos de Sem: Elam, Asur, Aparksad, Lud y Aram.	22 Shem's sons: Elam, Asshur, Arpachshad, Lud, Aram.
23 Hijos de Aram: Us, Jul, Guéter y Mas.	23 Aram's sons: Uz, Hul, Gether and Mash.
24 Arpaksad engendró a Sélaj y Sélaj engendró a Héber.	24 Arpachshad fathered Shelah, and Shelah fathered Eber.
25 A Héber le nacieron dos hijos: el nombre de uno fue Péleg, porque en sus días fue divida la tierra. Su hermano se llamaba Yoqtán.	25 To Eber were born two sons: the first was cal ed Peleg, because it was in his time that the earth wasdivided, and his brother was called Joktan.
26 Yoqtán engendró a Almodad, a Selef, a Jasarmávet, a Yéraj,	26 Joktan fathered Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah,
27 a Hadoram, a Uzal, a Diclá,	27 Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah,
28 a Obal, a Abimael, a Sebá,	28 Obal, Abima-El, Sheba,
29 a Ofir, a Javilá y a Yobab. Todos fueron hijos de Yoqtán.	29 Ophir, Havilah, Jobab; al these were sons of Joktan.
30 Su asiento se extendió desde Mesá, en dirección a Sefar, al monte del oriente.	30 They occupied a stretch of country from Mesha all the way to Sephar, the eastern mountain range.
31 Estos fueron los hijos de Sem, según sus linajes y lenguas, por sus territorios y naciones respectivas.	31 These were Shem's sons, by clans and languages, by countries and nations.
32 Hasta aquí los linajes de los hijos de Noé, según su origen y sus naciones. Y a partir de ellos se dispersaron los pueblos por la tierra después del diluvio.	32 Such were the clans of Noah's descendants, listed by descent and nation. From them, other nationsbranched out on earth after the flood.
