1 (Per la fine. Per quelli che saranno cangiati. Di David).	1 For the leader. A psalm of David; a song.
2 Salvami, o Dio, perchè l'acque mi sono arrivate fino all'anima.	2 God will arise for battle; the enemy will be scattered; those who hate God will flee.
3 Affondo in una voragine di fango, e non ho dove appoggiarmi. Son precipitato nel profondo del mare, e la tempesta m'ha sommerso.	3 The wind will disperse them like smoke; as wax is melted by fire, so the wicked will perish before God.
4 Sono stanco di gridare; mi s'è arrochita la gola; gli occhi miei si sono stancati nell'attesa del mio Dio.	4 Then the just will be glad; they will rejoice before God; they will celebrate with great joy.
5 Si son moltiplicati oltre i capelli del mio capo quei che mi odiano a torto, son divenuti forti i miei nemici che mi perseguitano ingiustamente, e ho dovuto pagare quello che non avevo preso.	5 Sing to God, praise the divine name; exalt the rider of the clouds. Rejoice before this God whose name is the LORD.
6 O Dio, tu conosci la mia follia, i miei peccati non ti son nascosti.	6 Father of the fatherless, defender of widows-- this is the God whose abode is holy,
7 Non abbiano da arrossire per causa mia coloro che sperano in te, o Signore, o Signore degli eserciti. Nè sian confusi per mia cagione quelli che cercano te, o Dio d'Israele.	7 Who gives a home to the forsaken, who leads prisoners out to prosperity, while rebels live in the desert.
8 Perchè per amor tuo sopporto l'obbrobrio, e la confusione ricopre la mia faccia.	8 God, when you went forth before your people, when you marched through the desert, Selah
9 Son divenuto straniero per i miei fratelli e forestiero per i figli di mia madre.	9 The earth quaked, the heavens shook, before God, the One of Sinai, before God, the God of Israel.
10 Perchè lo zelo della tua casa m'ha divorato, gl'insulti dei tuoi oltraggiatori son ricaduti sopra di me.	10 You claimed a land as your own, O God;
11 Ho trasfigurata col digiuno la mia persona e ciò mi si voltò in vitupero.	11 your people settled there. There you poured abundant rains, God, graciously given to the poor in their need.
12 Mi son vestito di cilicio e son diventato la loro favola:	12 All you people so numerous,
13 Parlan contro di me quelli che stan seduti alla porta, contro di me cantan canzoni quelli che bevono il vino.	13 b) Every household will share the booty,
14 Ma io la rivolgo a te la mia preghiera, o Signore, sia tempo di grazia, o Dio. Esaudiscimi secondo la grandezza della tua misericordia, per la fedeltà che hai nel dar la salvezza.	14 c) its wings covered with yellow gold."
15 Tirami su dal fango, chè non vi rimanga confìtto, liberami da coloro che mi odiano e dalle acque profonde.	15 When the Almighty routed the kings there, the spoils were scattered like snow on Zalmon.
16 Non mi sommerga l'acqua tempestosa, non mi ingoi la voragine, nè il pozzo chiuda sopra di me la sua bocca.	16 You high mountains of Bashan, you rugged mountains of Bashan,
17 Esaudiscimi, o Signore, chè benigna è la tua misericordia, per la tua immensa pietà, rivolgi a me lo sguardo.	17 You rugged mountains, why look with envy at the mountain where God has chosen to dwell, where the LORD resides forever?
18 Non nasconder la tua faccia al tuo servo: son nell'angoscia, t'affretta ad esaudirmi.	18 God's chariots were myriad, thousands upon thousands; from Sinai the Lord entered the holy place.
19 Avvicinati all'anima mia e liberala: a motivo dei miei nemici, salvami.	19 You went up to its lofty height; you took captives, received slaves as tribute. No rebels can live in the presence of God.
20 Ben conosci il mio obbrobrio, la mia confusione, la mia ignominia,	20 Blessed be the Lord day by day, God, our salvation, who carries us. Selah
21 Sotto gli occhi ti stanno i miei avversari. Il mio cuore aspettò obbrobri e miserie. Aspettai chi avesse di me compassione e non ci fu, chi mi consolasse e non lo trovai.	21 Our God is a God who saves; escape from death is in the LORD God's hands.
22 Mi diedero per cibo del fiele, e nella mia sete mi abbeveraron coll'aceto.	22 God will crush the skulls of the enemy, the hairy heads of those who walk in sin.
23 La loro mensa diventi per essi un laccio, e giusta punizione e pietra d'inciampo.	23 The Lord has said: "Even from Bashan I will fetch them, fetch them even from the depths of the sea.
24 Si oscurino i loro occhi e più non veggano, incurva sempre più le loro spalle.	24 You will wash your feet in your enemy's blood; the tongues of your dogs will lap it up."
25 Scarica sopra di loro la tua ira, e il furore dell'ira tua li attanagli.	25 Your procession comes into view, O God, your procession into the holy place, my God and king.
26 La loro casa sia deserta, non vi sia chi abiti sotto le loro tende.	26 The singers go first, the harpists follow; in their midst girls sound the timbrels.
27 Perchè han perseguitato quello che avevi percosso ed hanno aggravato il dolore delle mie piaghe.	27 In your choirs, bless God; bless the LORD, you from Israel's assemblies.
28 Lasciali aggiungere peccato a peccato, chè non entrino nella tua giustizia.	28 In the lead is Benjamin, few in number; there the princes of Judah, a large throng, the princes of Zebulun, the princes of Naphtali, too.
29 Sian cancellati dal libro dei viventi e non siano scritti tra i giusti.	29 Summon again, O God, your power, the divine power you once showed for us.
30 Io son misero e dolente: il tuo soccorso, o Dio, m'ha sostenuto.	30 Show it from your temple on behalf of Jerusalem, that kings may bring you tribute.
31 Celebrerò col canto il nome di Dio, e lo esalterò con inni di lode.	31 Roar at the wild beast of the reeds, the herd of mighty bulls, the lords of nations; scatter the nations that delight in war.
32 E ciò piacerà a Dio più d'un giovenco giovanissimo che butti fuori le corna e l'unghie.	32 Exact rich tribute from lower Egypt, from upper Egypt, gold and silver; make Ethiopia extend its hands to God.
33 Mirate, o poveri, rallegratevi, cercato Dio, e l'anima vostra sarà salva.	33 You kingdoms of the earth, sing to God; chant the praises of the Lord, Selah
34 Poichè il Signore ha esauditi i poveri, e non ha lasciati da parte i suoi prigionieri.	34 Who rides the heights of the ancient heavens, whose voice is thunder, mighty thunder.
35 Lo lodino il cielo e la terra, il mare e tutto ciò che in essi si muove.	35 Confess the power of God, whose majesty protects Israel, whose power is in the sky.
36 Perchè Dio salverà. Sionne, e farà ricostruire le città di Giuda. Essi vi abiteranno e l'avranno in eredità.	36 Awesome is God in his holy place, the God of Israel, who gives power and strength to his people. Blessed be God!
37 E i discendenti dei servi di lui ne avranno il possesso e coloro che amano il nome di lui vi abiteranno.
