1 Then six days before the Passover, Jesus went to Bethania, where Lazarus had died, whom Jesus raised up.	1 Six jours avant la Pâque, Jésus vint à Béthanie, où était mort Lazare, qu'Il avait ressuscité.
2 And they made a dinner for him there. And Martha was ministering. And truly, Lazarus was one of those who were sitting at table with him.	2 On Lui fit là un souper; et Marthe servait, et Lazare était un de ceux qui étaient à table avec Lui.
3 And then Mary took twelve ounces of pure spikenard ointment, very precious, and she anointed the feet of Jesus, and she wiped his feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the ointment.	3 Alors Marie prit une livre de parfum de vrai nard, d'un grand prix, et en oignit les pieds de Jésus, et les essuya avec ses cheveux; et la maison fut remplie de l'odeur du parfum.
4 Then one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, who was soon to betray him, said,	4 Un de Ses disciples, Judas Iscariote, qui devait Le trahir, dit:
5 “Why was this ointment not sold for three hundred denarii and given to the needy?”	5 Pourquoi n'a-t-on pas vendu ce parfum trois cents deniers, qu'on aurait donnés aux pauvres?
6 Now he said this, not out of concern for the needy, but because he was a thief and, since he held the purse, he used to carry what was put into it.	6 Il disait cela, non parce qu'il se souciait des pauvres, mais parce qu'il était voleur, et qu'ayant la bourse, il prenait ce qu'on y mettait.
7 But Jesus said: “Permit her, so that she may keep it against the day of my burial.	7 Jésus dit donc: Laissez-la, afin qu'elle réserve ce parfum pour le jour de Ma sépulture.
8 For the poor, you have with you always. But me, you do always not have.”	8 Car vous avez toujours des pauvres avec vous; mais Moi, vous ne M'aurez pas toujours.
9 Now a great multitude of the Jews knew that he was in that place, and so they came, not so much because of Jesus, but so that they might see Lazarus, whom he had raised from the dead.	9 Une grande multitude de Juifs apprirent qu'Il était là, et ils vinrent, non seulement à cause de Jésus, mais aussi pour voir Lazare, qu'Il avait ressuscité d'entre les morts.
10 And the leaders of the priests planned to put Lazarus to death also.	10 Or les princes des prêtres pensèrent à faire mourir aussi Lazare,
11 For many of the Jews, because of him, were going away and were believing in Jesus.	11 parce que beaucoup d'entre les Juifs se retiraient d'eux à cause de lui, et croyaient en Jésus.
12 Then, on the next day, the great crowd that had come to the feast day, when they had heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,	12 Le lendemain, une foule nombreuse, qui était venu pour la fête, ayant appris que Jésus venait à Jérusalem,
13 took branches of palm trees, and they went ahead to meet him. And they were crying out: “Hosanna! Blessed is he who arrives in the name of the Lord, the king of Israel!”	13 prit des branches de palmier, et alla au-devant de Lui, en criant: Hosanna! Béni soit Celui qui vient au nom du Seigneur, le Roi d'Israël!
14 And Jesus found a small donkey, and he sat upon it, just as it is written:	14 Jésus trouva un ânon, et S'assit dessus, ainsi qu'il est écrit:
15 “Do not be afraid, daughter of Zion. Behold, your king arrives, sitting on the colt of a donkey.”	15 Ne crains point, fille de Sion; voici ton Roi, qui vient assis sur le petit d'une ânesse.
16 At first, his disciples did not realize these things. But when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written about him, and that these things happened to him.	16 Les disciples ne comprirent pas d'abord ces choses; mais, après que Jésus eut été glorifié, ils se souvinrent alors qu'elles avaient été écrites à Son sujet, et qu'ils les Lui avaient faites.
17 And so the crowd that had been with him, when he called Lazarus from the tomb and raised him from the dead, offered testimony.	17 La foule qui était avec Lui lorsqu'Il avait appelé Lazare du tombeau, et l'avait ressuscité d'entre les morts, Lui rendait témoignage.
18 Because of this, too, the crowd went out to meet him. For they heard that he had accomplished this sign.	18 C'est pour cela aussi que la foule vint au-devant de Lui, parce qu'ils avaient appris qu'Il avait fait ce miracle.
19 Therefore, the Pharisees said among themselves: “Do you see that we are accomplishing nothing? Behold, the entire world has gone after him.”	19 Les pharisiens dirent donc entre eux: Voyez-vous que nous ne gagnons rien? voilà que tout le monde va après Lui.
20 Now there were certain Gentiles among those who went up so that they might worship on the feast day.	20 Or il y avait là quelques Gentils, de ceux qui étaient montés pour adorer au jour de la fête.
21 Therefore, these approached Philip, who was from Bethsaida of Galilee, and they petitioned him, saying: “Sir, we want to see Jesus.”	21 Ils s'approchèrent de Philippe, qui était de Bethsaïde en Galilée; et ils le priaient, en disant: Seigneur, nous voulons voir Jésus.
22 Philip went and told Andrew. Next, Andrew and Philip told Jesus.	22 Philippe vint, et le dit à André; puis André et Philippe le dirent à Jésus.
23 But Jesus answered them by saying: “The hour arrives when the Son of man shall be glorified.	23 Jésus leur répondit: L'heure est venue où le Fils de l'homme doit être glorifié.
24 Amen, amen, I say to you, unless the grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies,	24 En vérité, en vérité, Je vous le dis, si le grain de froment qui tombe en terre ne meurt pas,
25 it remains alone. But if it dies, it yields much fruit. Whoever loves his life, will lose it. And whoever hates his life in this world, preserves it unto eternal life.	25 il demeure seul; mais, s'il meurt, il porte beaucoup de fruit. Celui qui aime sa vie, la perdra, et celui qui hait sa vie dans ce monde, la conserve pour la vie éternelle.
26 If anyone serves me, let him follow me. And where I am, there too my minister shall be. If anyone has served me, my Father will honor him.	26 Si quelqu'un Me sert, qu'il Me suive; et là où Je suis, Mon serviteur sera aussi. Si quelqu'un Me sert, Mon Père l'honorera.
27 Now my soul is troubled. And what should I say? Father, save me from this hour? But it is for this reason that I came to this hour.	27 Maintenant Mon âme est troublée. Et que dirai-Je? Père, délivrez-Moi de cette heure. Mais c'est pour cela que Je suis arrivé à cette heure.
28 Father, glorify your name!” And then a voice came from heaven, “I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again.”	28 Père, glorifiez Votre nom. Alors vint une voix du Ciel: Je l'ai glorifié, et Je le glorifierai encore.
29 Therefore, the crowd, which was standing near and had heard it, said that it was like thunder. Others were saying, “An Angel was speaking with him.”	29 La foule qui était présente, et qui avait entendu, disait que c'était un coup de tonnerre. D'autres disaient: C'est un Ange qui Lui a parlé.
30 Jesus responded and said: “This voice came, not for my sake, but for your sakes.	30 Jésus répondit, et dit: Ce n'est pas pour Moi que cette voix est venue, mais pour vous.
31 Now is the judgment of the world. Now will the prince of this world be cast out.	31 C'est maintenant le jugement du monde; c'est maintenant que le prince de ce monde va être jeté dehors.
32 And when I have been lifted up from the earth, I will draw all things to myself.”	32 Et Moi, quand J'aurai été élevé de terre, J'attirerai tout à Moi.
33 (Now he said this, signifying what kind of death he would die.)	33 Il disait cela, pour marquer de quelle mort Il devait mourir.
34 The crowd answered him: “We have heard, from the law, that the Christ remains forever. And so how can you say, ‘The Son of man must be lifted up?’ Who is this Son of man?”	34 La foule Lui répondit: Nous avons appris de la loi que le Christ demeure éternellement; comment donc dites-Vous: Il faut que le Fils de l'homme soit élevé? Quel est ce Fils de l'homme?
35 Therefore, Jesus said to them: “For a brief time, the Light is among you. Walk while you have the Light, so that the darkness may not overtake you. But whoever walks in darkness does not know where is he going.	35 Jésus leur dit: La lumière est encore pour un peu de temps parmi vous. Marchez pendant que vous avez la lumière, de peur que les ténèbres ne vous surprennent. Celui qui marche dans les ténèbres ne sait où il va.
36 While you have the Light, believe in the Light, so that you may be sons of the Light.” Jesus spoke these things, and then he went away and hid himself from them.	36 Pendant que vous avez la lumière, croyez en la lumière, afin que vous soyez des enfants de lumière. Jésus dit ces choses, puis Il S'en alla, et Se cacha d'eux.
37 And although he had done such great signs in their presence, they did not believe in him,	37 Quoiqu'Il eût fait tant de miracles devant eux, ils ne croyaient point en Lui,
38 so that the word of the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled, which says: “Lord, who has believed in our hearing? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?”	38 afin que s'accomplît la parole du prophète Isaïe, qui a dit: Seigneur, qui a cru à ce que nous faisons entendre? et à qui le Bras du Seigneur a-t-Il été révélé?
39 Because of this, they were not able to believe, for Isaiah said again:	39 C'est pour cela qu'ils ne pouvaient croire, car Isaîe a dit encore:
40 “He has blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart, so that they may not see with their eyes, and understand with their heart, and be converted: and then I would heal them.”	40 Il a aveuglé leurs yeux, et il a endurci leur coeur, de peur qu'ils ne voient de leurs yeux, et qu'ils ne comprennent de leur coeur, et qu'ils ne se convertissent, et que Je ne les guérisse.
41 These things Isaiah said, when he saw his glory and was speaking about him.	41 Isaïe a dit cela lorsqu'il a vu Sa gloire, et qu'il a parlé de Lui.
42 Yet truly, many of the leaders also believed in him. But because of the Pharisees, they did not confess him, so that they would not be cast out of the synagogue.	42 Cependant, même parmi les chefs, beaucoup crurent en Lui; mais, à cause des pharisiens, ils ne Le confessaient pas, pour n'être pas chassés de la synagogue.
43 For they loved the glory of men more than the glory of God.	43 Car ils ont aimé la gloire des hommes plus que la gloire de Dieu.
44 But Jesus cried out and said: “Whoever believes in me, does not believe in me, but in him who sent me.	44 Or Jésus S'écria, et dit: Celui qui croit en Moi, ne croit pas en Moi, mais en Celui qui M'a envoyé.
45 And whoever sees me, sees him who sent me.	45 Et celui qui Me voit, voit Celui qui M'a envoyé.
46 I have arrived as a light to the world, so that all who believe in me might not remain in darkness.	46 Je suis venu comme une lumière dans le monde, afin que quiconque croit en Moi ne demeure point dans les ténèbres.
47 And if anyone has heard my words and not kept them, I do not judge him. For I did not come so that I may judge the world, but so that I may save the world.	47 Et si quelqu'un entend Mes paroles, et ne les garde pas, ce n'est pas Moi qui le juge; car Je ne suis pas venu pour juger le monde, mais pour sauver le monde.
48 Whoever despises me and does not accept my words has one who judges him. The word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him on the last day.	48 Celui qui Me méprise, et qui ne reçoit pas Mes paroles, a son juge: la parole même que J'ai annoncée le jugera au dernier jour.
49 For I am not speaking from myself, but from the Father who sent me. He gave a commandment to me as to what I should say and how I should speak.	49 Car Je n'ai point parlé de Moi-même; mais le Père qui M'a envoyé M'a Lui-même prescrit ce que Je dois dire, et comment Je dois parler.
50 And I know that his commandment is eternal life. Therefore, the things that I speak, just as the Father has said to me, so also do I speak.”	50 Et Je sais que Son commandement est la vie éternelle. C'est pourquoi, les choses que Je dis, Je les dis comme le Père Me les a dites.
