1 It is for you, then, to preach the behaviour which goes with healthy doctrine.	1 Tu, porém, ensina o que está conforme com a sã doutrina;
2 Older men should be reserved, dignified, moderate, sound in faith and love and perseverance.	2 (ensina) aos velhos que sejam sóbrios, honestos, prudentes, sãos na fé, na caridade, na paciência;
3 Similarly, older women should behave as befits religious people, with no scandal-mongering and noaddiction to wine -- they must be the teachers of right behaviour	3 igualmente às mulheres idosas que tenham um proceder próprio de pessoas santas, que não sejam caluniadoras, não dadas ao vinho, que ensinem o bem,
4 and show younger women how they should love their husbands and love their children,	4 que ensinem as mulheres jovens a amar seus maridos e seus filhos,
5 how they must be sensible and chaste, and how to work in their homes, and be gentle, and obey theirhusbands, so that the message of God is not disgraced.	5 a ser prudentes, castas, cuidadosas da casa, boas, sujeitas a seus maridos, para que se não diga mal da palavra de Deus.
6 Similarly, urge younger men to be moderate in everything that they do,	6 Exorta também os jovens a que sejam regrados.
7 and you yourself set an example of good works, by sincerity and earnestness, when you are teaching,and by a message sound and irreproachable	7 Faze-te a ti mesmo um modelo de boas obras em tudo: na pureza da doutrina, na dignidade,
8 so that any opponent will be at a loss, with no accusation to make against us.	8 na palavra sã, irrepreensível, para que os nossos adversários sejam confundidos, não tendo mal algum a dizer de nós.
9 Slaves must be obedient to their masters in everything, and do what is wanted without argument;	9 (Exorta) os servos a que sejam submissos em tudo a seus senhores, agradando-lhes, não os contradizendo,
10 and there must be no pilfering -- they must show complete honesty at al times, so that they are in everyway a credit to the teaching of God our Saviour.	10 não os defraudando, mas mostrando em tudo inteira fidelidade, para que em tudo honrem a doutrina de Deus nosso Salvador.
11 You see, God's grace has been revealed to save the whole human race;	11 Porquanto a graça de Deus, fonte de salvação para todos os homens, manifestou-se,
12 it has taught us that we should give up everything contrary to true religion and all our worldly passions;we must be self-restrained and live upright and religious lives in this present world,	12 ensinando-nos que, renunciando à impiedade e aos desejos do século, vivamos neste século sóbria, justa e piamente,
13 waiting in hope for the blessing which will come with the appearing of the glory of our great God andSaviour Christ Jesus.	13 aguardando a esperança bem-aventurada e a vinda gloriosa do nosso grande Deus e Salvador, Jesus Cristo,
14 He offered himself for us in order to ransom us from al our faults and to purify a people to be his veryown and eager to do good.	14 que se deu a si mesmo por nós, a fim de nos resgatar de toda a iniquidade e purificar para si um povo que seja seu, zeloso pelas boas obras.
15 This is what you must say, encouraging or arguing with ful authority; no one should despise you.	15 Ensina estas coisas, exorta e repreende com toda a autoridade. Ninguém te despreze.
