1 It is for you, then, to preach the behaviour which goes with healthy doctrine.	1 - Ma tu discorri le cose che si convengono alla sana dottrina.
2 Older men should be reserved, dignified, moderate, sound in faith and love and perseverance.	2 Che i vecchi sian sobrii, degni di rispetto, saggi, sani nella fede, nell'amore, nella costanza;
3 Similarly, older women should behave as befits religious people, with no scandal-mongering and noaddiction to wine -- they must be the teachers of right behaviour	3 e le donne d'età parimente si mantengano in un contegno di decorosa santità, non siano maldicenti, non schiave del molto vino, maestre di bene,
4 and show younger women how they should love their husbands and love their children,	4 acciocchè rendan savie le giovani, sì da amare i mariti loro, amanti dei figli,
5 how they must be sensible and chaste, and how to work in their homes, and be gentle, and obey theirhusbands, so that the message of God is not disgraced.	5 sagge, caste, lavoratrici in casa, buone, soggette ai proprii mariti, affinchè della parola di Dio non si dica male.
6 Similarly, urge younger men to be moderate in everything that they do,	6 Del pari esorta i giovani a esser savii in tutto,
7 and you yourself set an example of good works, by sincerity and earnestness, when you are teaching,and by a message sound and irreproachable	7 mostrando te stesso modello di opere buone, e nell'insegnare mostra purità, gravità,
8 so that any opponent will be at a loss, with no accusation to make against us.	8 parola sana e incensurabile, acciocchè chi ci sta contro abbia rispetto, non avendo nulla di male da dire di noi.
9 Slaves must be obedient to their masters in everything, and do what is wanted without argument;	9 Gli schiavi siano soggetti ai loro padroni in tutto, compiacenti, non abbiano lo spirito di contraddire,
10 and there must be no pilfering -- they must show complete honesty at al times, so that they are in everyway a credit to the teaching of God our Saviour.	10 di mettere da parte a vantaggio proprio, ma mostrino in tutto la loro buona fede, in modo da far onore in ogni cosa alla dottrina del nostro Salvatore Dio.
11 You see, God's grace has been revealed to save the whole human race;	11 Poichè la grazia di Dio s'è mostrata salvatrice per tutti gli uomini
12 it has taught us that we should give up everything contrary to true religion and all our worldly passions;we must be self-restrained and live upright and religious lives in this present world,	12 ammaestrandoci, affinchè rinnegando l'empietà e le cupidigie mondane, saggiamente e giustamente e piamente viviamo nella presente vita,
13 waiting in hope for the blessing which will come with the appearing of the glory of our great God andSaviour Christ Jesus.	13 attendendo quella beata speranza che è l'apparizione gloriosa del gran Dio e Salvatore nostro Gesù Cristo;
14 He offered himself for us in order to ransom us from al our faults and to purify a people to be his veryown and eager to do good.	14 il quale ha dato se stesso per noi affine di riscattarci da ogni iniquità e purificare per sè un popolo di sua proprietà, zelatore di opere buone.
15 This is what you must say, encouraging or arguing with ful authority; no one should despise you.	15 Tali cose insegna ed esorta, e riprendi con tutta l'autorità. Che nessuno ti disprezzi.
