1 It is for you, then, to preach the behaviour which goes with healthy doctrine.	1 Ma tu insegna conformemente alla sana dottrina:
2 Older men should be reserved, dignified, moderate, sound in faith and love and perseverance.	2 Che i vecchi siano sobrj, pudichi, prudenti, sani nella fede, nella carità, nella pazienza:
3 Similarly, older women should behave as befits religious people, with no scandal-mongering and noaddiction to wine -- they must be the teachers of right behaviour	3 Similmente le donne di età in un contegno santo, non portate a dir male, non dedite al molto vino, maestre del ben fare:
4 and show younger women how they should love their husbands and love their children,	4 Affinchè alle più giovani insegnino ad esser morigerate, ad amare i loro mariti, a tener conto de' lor figliuoli,
5 how they must be sensible and chaste, and how to work in their homes, and be gentle, and obey theirhusbands, so that the message of God is not disgraced.	5 Ad esser prudenti, caste, sobrie, attente alla cura della casa, buone, soggette a' loro mariti, affinchè non si dica male della parola di Dio:
6 Similarly, urge younger men to be moderate in everything that they do,	6 I giovani parimente esortali alla temperanza.
7 and you yourself set an example of good works, by sincerity and earnestness, when you are teaching,and by a message sound and irreproachable	7 In tutte le cose fa' vedere te stesso modello del ben fare, nella dottrina, nella purità de' costumi, nella gravità,
8 so that any opponent will be at a loss, with no accusation to make against us.	8 Il discorrere sano, irreprensibile talmente che chi ci sta di contro, abbia rossore, non avendo nulla, onde dir male di noi:
9 Slaves must be obedient to their masters in everything, and do what is wanted without argument;	9 Che i servi siano soggetti ai loro padroni, in lutto facciano a modo (di essi) non istiano a tu per tu,
10 and there must be no pilfering -- they must show complete honesty at al times, so that they are in everyway a credit to the teaching of God our Saviour.	10 Non rubino, ma in ogni cosa dimostrino perfetta fedeltà: talmente che in tutto facciano onore alla dottrina del salvatore nostro Dio.
11 You see, God's grace has been revealed to save the whole human race;	11 Imperocché apparve la grazia di Dio salvatore nostro a tatti gli uomini,
12 it has taught us that we should give up everything contrary to true religion and all our worldly passions;we must be self-restrained and live upright and religious lives in this present world,	12 Insegnando a noi, che rinnegata l'empietà, e i desideri del secolo, con temperanza, con giustizia, e con pietà viviamo in questo secolo,
13 waiting in hope for the blessing which will come with the appearing of the glory of our great God andSaviour Christ Jesus.	13 In espettazione di quella beata speranza, e di quella apparizione della gloria del grande Dio, e salvatore nostro Gesù Cristo:
14 He offered himself for us in order to ransom us from al our faults and to purify a people to be his veryown and eager to do good.	14 Il quale diede se stesso per noi, affine di riscattarci da ogni iniquità, e per purificarsi un popolo accettevole, zelatore delle buone opere.
15 This is what you must say, encouraging or arguing with ful authority; no one should despise you.	15 Cosi ragiona, ed esorta, e riprendi con ogni autorità. Nissuno faccia poco conto di te.
