1 It is for you, then, to preach the behaviour which goes with healthy doctrine.	1 Tu però insegna quello che è conforme alla sana dottrina.
2 Older men should be reserved, dignified, moderate, sound in faith and love and perseverance.	2 Gli uomini anziani siano sobri, dignitosi, saggi, saldi nella fede, nella carità e nella pazienza.
3 Similarly, older women should behave as befits religious people, with no scandal-mongering and noaddiction to wine -- they must be the teachers of right behaviour	3 Anche le donne anziane abbiano un comportamento santo: non siano maldicenti né schiave del vino; sappiano piuttosto insegnare il bene,
4 and show younger women how they should love their husbands and love their children,	4 per formare le giovani all’amore del marito e dei figli,
5 how they must be sensible and chaste, and how to work in their homes, and be gentle, and obey theirhusbands, so that the message of God is not disgraced.	5 a essere prudenti, caste, dedite alla famiglia, buone, sottomesse ai propri mariti, perché la parola di Dio non venga screditata.
6 Similarly, urge younger men to be moderate in everything that they do,	6 Esorta ancora i più giovani a essere prudenti,
7 and you yourself set an example of good works, by sincerity and earnestness, when you are teaching,and by a message sound and irreproachable	7 offrendo te stesso come esempio di opere buone: integrità nella dottrina, dignità,
8 so that any opponent will be at a loss, with no accusation to make against us.	8 linguaggio sano e irreprensibile, perché il nostro avversario resti svergognato, non avendo nulla di male da dire contro di noi.
9 Slaves must be obedient to their masters in everything, and do what is wanted without argument;	9 Esorta gli schiavi a essere sottomessi ai loro padroni in tutto; li accontentino e non li contraddicano,
10 and there must be no pilfering -- they must show complete honesty at al times, so that they are in everyway a credit to the teaching of God our Saviour.	10 non rubino, ma dimostrino fedeltà assoluta, per fare onore in tutto alla dottrina di Dio, nostro salvatore.
11 You see, God's grace has been revealed to save the whole human race;	11 È apparsa infatti la grazia di Dio, che porta salvezza a tutti gli uomini
12 it has taught us that we should give up everything contrary to true religion and all our worldly passions;we must be self-restrained and live upright and religious lives in this present world,	12 e ci insegna a rinnegare l’empietà e i desideri mondani e a vivere in questo mondo con sobrietà, con giustizia e con pietà,
13 waiting in hope for the blessing which will come with the appearing of the glory of our great God andSaviour Christ Jesus.	13 nell’attesa della beata speranza e della manifestazione della gloria del nostro grande Dio e salvatore Gesù Cristo.
14 He offered himself for us in order to ransom us from al our faults and to purify a people to be his veryown and eager to do good.	14 Egli ha dato se stesso per noi, per riscattarci da ogni iniquità e formare per sé un popolo puro che gli appartenga, pieno di zelo per le opere buone.
15 This is what you must say, encouraging or arguing with ful authority; no one should despise you.	15 Questo devi insegnare, raccomandare e rimproverare con tutta autorità. Nessuno ti disprezzi!
