Titus 2

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 It is for you, then, to preach the behaviour which goes with healthy doctrine.	1 En cuanto a ti, debes enseñar todo lo que es conforme a la sana doctrina.
2 Older men should be reserved, dignified, moderate, sound in faith and love and perseverance.	2 Que los ancianos sean sobrios, dignos, moderados, íntegros en la fe, en el amor y en la constancia.
3 Similarly, older women should behave as befits religious people, with no scandal-mongering and noaddiction to wine -- they must be the teachers of right behaviour	3 Que las mujeres de edad se comporten como corresponde a personas santas. No deben ser murmuradoras, ni entregarse a la bebida. Que por medio de buenos consejos,
4 and show younger women how they should love their husbands and love their children,	4 enseñen a las jóvenes a amar a su marido y a sus hijos,
5 how they must be sensible and chaste, and how to work in their homes, and be gentle, and obey theirhusbands, so that the message of God is not disgraced.	5 a ser modestas, castas, mujeres de su casa, buenas y respetuosas con su marido. Así la Palabra de Dios no será objeto de blasfemia.
6 Similarly, urge younger men to be moderate in everything that they do,	6 Exhorta también a los jóvenes a ser moderados en todo,
7 and you yourself set an example of good works, by sincerity and earnestness, when you are teaching,and by a message sound and irreproachable	7 dándoles tú mismo ejemplo de buena conducta, en lo que se refiere a la pureza de doctrina, a la dignidad,
8 so that any opponent will be at a loss, with no accusation to make against us.	8 a la enseñanza correcta e inobjetable. De esa manera, el adversario quedará confundido, porque no tendrá nada que reprocharnos.
9 Slaves must be obedient to their masters in everything, and do what is wanted without argument;	9 Que los esclavos obedezcan en todo a sus dueños y procuren agradarlos, tratando de no contradecirlos. Que no los defrauden,
10 and there must be no pilfering -- they must show complete honesty at al times, so that they are in everyway a credit to the teaching of God our Saviour.	10 sino que les demuestren absoluta fidelidad, para hacer honor en todo a la doctrina de Dios, nuestro Salvador.
11 You see, God's grace has been revealed to save the whole human race;	11 Porque la gracia de Dios, que es fuente de salvación para todos los hombres, se ha manifestado.
12 it has taught us that we should give up everything contrary to true religion and all our worldly passions;we must be self-restrained and live upright and religious lives in this present world,	12 Ella nos enseña a rechazar la impiedad y las concupiscencias del mundo, para vivir en la vida presente con sobriedad, justicia y piedad,
13 waiting in hope for the blessing which will come with the appearing of the glory of our great God andSaviour Christ Jesus.	13 mientras aguardamos la feliz esperanza y la Manifestación de la gloria de nuestro gran Dios y Salvador, Cristo Jesús.
14 He offered himself for us in order to ransom us from al our faults and to purify a people to be his veryown and eager to do good.	14 El se entregó por nosotros, a fin de librarnos de toda iniquidad, purificarnos y crear para sí un Pueblo elegido y lleno en la práctica del bien.
15 This is what you must say, encouraging or arguing with ful authority; no one should despise you.	15 Así debes hablar, exhortar y reprender con toda autoridad. No des ocasión a que nadie te desprecie.
