Titus 2

NEW JERUSALEM	SAGRADA BIBLIA
1 It is for you, then, to preach the behaviour which goes with healthy doctrine.	1 O teu ensinamento, porém, seja conforme à sã doutrina.
2 Older men should be reserved, dignified, moderate, sound in faith and love and perseverance.	2 Os mais velhos sejam sóbrios, graves, prudentes, fortes na fé, na caridade, na paciência.
3 Similarly, older women should behave as befits religious people, with no scandal-mongering and noaddiction to wine -- they must be the teachers of right behaviour	3 Assim também as mulheres de mais idade mostrem no seu exterior uma compostura santa, não sejam maldizentes nem intemperantes, mas mestras de bons conselhos.
4 and show younger women how they should love their husbands and love their children,	4 Que saibam ensinar as jovens a amarem seus maridos, a quererem bem seus filhos,
5 how they must be sensible and chaste, and how to work in their homes, and be gentle, and obey theirhusbands, so that the message of God is not disgraced.	5 a serem prudentes, castas, cuidadosas da casa, bondosas, submissas a seus maridos, para que a palavra de Deus não seja desacreditada.
6 Similarly, urge younger men to be moderate in everything that they do,	6 Exorta igualmente os moços a serem morigerados,
7 and you yourself set an example of good works, by sincerity and earnestness, when you are teaching,and by a message sound and irreproachable	7 e mostra-te em tudo modelo de bom comportamento: pela integridade na doutrina, gravidade,
8 so that any opponent will be at a loss, with no accusation to make against us.	8 linguagem sã e irrepreensível, para que o adversário seja confundido, não tendo a dizer de nós mal algum.
9 Slaves must be obedient to their masters in everything, and do what is wanted without argument;	9 Exorta os servos a que sejam submissos a seus senhores e atentos em agradar-lhes. Em lugar de reclamar deles
10 and there must be no pilfering -- they must show complete honesty at al times, so that they are in everyway a credit to the teaching of God our Saviour.	10 e defraudá-los, procurem em tudo testemunhar-lhes incondicional fidelidade, para que por todos seja respeitada a doutrina de Deus, nosso Salvador.
11 You see, God's grace has been revealed to save the whole human race;	11 Manifestou-se, com efeito, a graça de Deus, fonte de salvação para todos os homens.
12 it has taught us that we should give up everything contrary to true religion and all our worldly passions;we must be self-restrained and live upright and religious lives in this present world,	12 Veio para nos ensinar a renunciar à impiedade e às paixões mundanas e a viver neste mundo com toda sobriedade, justiça e piedade,
13 waiting in hope for the blessing which will come with the appearing of the glory of our great God andSaviour Christ Jesus.	13 na expectativa da nossa esperança feliz, a aparição gloriosa de nosso grande Deus e Salvador, Jesus Cristo,
14 He offered himself for us in order to ransom us from al our faults and to purify a people to be his veryown and eager to do good.	14 que se entregou por nós, a fim de nos resgatar de toda a iniqüidade, nos purificar e nos constituir seu povo de predileção, zeloso na prática do bem.
15 This is what you must say, encouraging or arguing with ful authority; no one should despise you.	15 Eis o que deves ensinar, pregar e defender com toda a autoridade. E que ninguém te menospreze!
