1 You may be quite sure that in the last days there will be some difficult times.	1 Sappi poi questo, che negli ultimi giorni sopravverranno tipi dice
2 People wil be self-centred and avaricious, boastful, arrogant and rude; disobedient to their parents,ungrateful, irreligious;	2 Infatti gli uomiri saranno pieni d’amor proprio, amanti del danaro, millantatori, orgogliosi, diffamatori, ribelli ai genitori, ingrati, empi,
3 heartless and intractable; they wil be slanderers, profligates, savages and enemies of everything that isgood;	3 senza cuore e seriza pietà, calunniatori, incontinenti, spietati, senz’amore per il bene,
4 they wil be treacherous and reckless and demented by pride, preferring their own pleasure to God.	4 delatori, temerari, gonfi, amanti del piacere più che amanti di Dio,
5 They wil keep up the outward appearance of religion but wil have rejected the inner power of it. Keepaway from people like that.	5 simulanti una pietà la cui vera forza disprezzano. Anche da costoro allontanati!
6 Of the same kind, too, are those men who insinuate themselves into families in order to get influenceover sil y women who are obsessed with their sins and follow one craze after another,	6 Ce n’è di costoro che si insinuano nelle case e circuiscono donnette sotto il peso dei peccati, agitate da ogni sorta di passioni,
7 always seeking learning, but unable ever to come to knowledge of the truth.	7 sempre intente ad istruirsi, ma incapaci di giungere alfine alla perfetta conoscenza della verità.
8 Just as Jannes and Jambres defied Moses, so these men defy the truth, their minds corrupt and theirfaith spurious.	8 Allo stesso modo che Jannes e Jambres si opposero a Mosè; così anche costoro si oppongono alla verità, uomini dallo spirito corrotto, riprovati in materia di fede.
9 But they will not be able to go on much longer: their fol y, like that of the other two, must become obviousto everybody.	9 Ma non progrediranno oltre, poiché la loro follia sarà palese a tutti, come lo fu quella di coloro.
10 You, though, have followed my teaching, my way of life, my aims, my faith, my patience and my love,my perseverance	10 Tu invece tenesti dietro al mio insegnamento, alla mia condotta, ai propositi miei, alla mia fede, alla longanimità, carità, pazienza mia,
11 and the persecutions and sufferings that came to me in places like Antioch, Iconium and Lystra -- althe persecutions I have endured; and the Lord has rescued me from every one of them.	11 alle persecuzioni, alle sofferenze, quali mi toccarono ad Antiochia, a Iconio, a Listri. Quali persecuzioni non ho dovuto sopportare! Eppure da tutte mi liberò il Signore.
12 But anybody who tries to live in devotion to Christ is certain to be persecuted;	12 E tutti quelli che vogliono vivere piamente in Cristo Gesù saranno perseguitati.
13 while these wicked impostors wil go from bad to worse, deceiving others, and themselves deceived.	13 Ma anche gli uomini malvagi e impostori andranno di male in peggio, seduttori e sedotti.
14 You must keep to what you have been taught and know to be true; remember who your teachers were,	14 Ma tu persevera in ciò che imparasti e con tanta convinzione accettasti, perché ben sapevi da chi lo riprendevi
15 and how, ever since you were a child, you have known the holy scriptures -from these you can learnthe wisdom that leads to salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.	15 e perché fin da bambino conosci le Sacre Lettere, quelle che son capaci di renderti saggio per la salvezza, mediante la fede nel Cristo Gesù.
16 Al scripture is inspired by God and useful for refuting error, for guiding people's lives and teachingthem to be upright.	16 Ogni Scrittura, ispirata da Dio, è anche utile per l’insegnamento, per la confutazione, per la correzione, per l’educazione alla giustizia,
17 This is how someone who is dedicated to God becomes ful y equipped and ready for any good work.	17 affinché l’uomo di Dio sia ben fatto, attrezzato per ogni opera buona.
