1 You may be quite sure that in the last days there will be some difficult times.	1 Or sappi tu questo, che negli ultimi giorni sorverranno dei tempi pericolosi:
2 People wil be self-centred and avaricious, boastful, arrogant and rude; disobedient to their parents,ungrateful, irreligious;	2 Imperocché vi saranno degli nemici amanti di loro stessi, avari, vani, superbi, maldicenti, disubbidienti a' genitori, ingrati, scellerati,
3 heartless and intractable; they wil be slanderers, profligates, savages and enemies of everything that isgood;	3 Senza amore, senza pace, calunniatori, incontinenti, crudeli, senza benignità,
4 they wil be treacherous and reckless and demented by pride, preferring their own pleasure to God.	4 Traditori, protervi, gonfi, ed amanti de' piaceri più, che di Dio:
5 They wil keep up the outward appearance of religion but wil have rejected the inner power of it. Keepaway from people like that.	5 Ed aventi l'apparenza della pietà della quale però hanno rigettata da se la sostanza. Fuggì anche costoro:
6 Of the same kind, too, are those men who insinuate themselves into families in order to get influenceover sil y women who are obsessed with their sins and follow one craze after another,	6 Imperocché di questi sono coloro, i quali si intrudono per le case, e schiave si menano delle donnicciuole cariche di peccati, mosse da varie passioni:
7 always seeking learning, but unable ever to come to knowledge of the truth.	7 Le quali sempre imparando, non arrivano mai alla scienza della verità.
8 Just as Jannes and Jambres defied Moses, so these men defy the truth, their minds corrupt and theirfaith spurious.	8 Ma nella stessa guisa, che Gianne e Mambre resisterono a Mosé: così anche questi resistono alla verità, uomini di guasta mente, reprobi riguardo alla fede,
9 But they will not be able to go on much longer: their fol y, like that of the other two, must become obviousto everybody.	9 Ma non anderanno più avanti: conciossiachè si farà manifesta a tutti la loro stoltezza, come fu già di quelli.
10 You, though, have followed my teaching, my way of life, my aims, my faith, my patience and my love,my perseverance	10 Ma tu hai seguito d'appresso la mia dottrina, la mia maniera di vivere, le intenzioni, la fede, la longanimità, la scarità, la pazienza,
11 and the persecutions and sufferings that came to me in places like Antioch, Iconium and Lystra -- althe persecutions I have endured; and the Lord has rescued me from every one of them.	11 Le persecuzioni, i patimenti: quali mi avvennero in Antiochia, in Iconio ed in Listri: le quali persecuzioni io ho sostenute, e da tutte mi ha liberato il Signore.
12 But anybody who tries to live in devotion to Christ is certain to be persecuted;	12 E tutti que', che vorranno piamente vivere in Cristo Gesù, patiranno persecuzione.
13 while these wicked impostors wil go from bad to worse, deceiving others, and themselves deceived.	13 Ma i mali uomini, e i seduttori anderanno di male in peggio; ingannati ed ingannatori.
14 You must keep to what you have been taught and know to be true; remember who your teachers were,	14 Ma tu attienti a quello, che hai apparato, ed a quello, che ti è stato affidato: sapendo, da chi tu abbi imparato:
15 and how, ever since you were a child, you have known the holy scriptures -from these you can learnthe wisdom that leads to salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.	15 E che dalla fanciullezza apprendesti le sagre lettere, le quali possono istruirti a salute, mediante la fede, che è in Cristo Gesù.
16 Al scripture is inspired by God and useful for refuting error, for guiding people's lives and teachingthem to be upright.	16 Tutta la scrittura divinamente ispirata è utile ad insegnare, ad redarguire, a correggere, a formare alla giustizia:
17 This is how someone who is dedicated to God becomes ful y equipped and ready for any good work.	17 Affinchè perfetto sia l'uomo di Dio, disposto ad ogni opera buona.
