NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 You may be quite sure that in the last days there will be some difficult times.	1 Sappi poi che negli ultimi giorni sopravverranno tempi difficili.
2 People wil be self-centred and avaricious, boastful, arrogant and rude; disobedient to their parents,ungrateful, irreligious;	2 Gli uomini, infatti, saranno egoisti, amanti del denaro, vanagloriosi, arroganti, bestemmiatori, disobbedienti ai genitori, ingrati, empi,
3 heartless and intractable; they wil be slanderers, profligates, savages and enemies of everything that isgood;	3 senz'amore, sleali, calunniatori, intemperanti, spietati, nemici del bene,
4 they wil be treacherous and reckless and demented by pride, preferring their own pleasure to God.	4 traditori, protervi, accecati dall'orgoglio, amanti del piacere più che di Dio;
5 They wil keep up the outward appearance of religion but wil have rejected the inner power of it. Keepaway from people like that.	5 gente che ha l'apparenza della pietà, ma ne rinnega la forza. Questi pure cerca di evitare.
6 Of the same kind, too, are those men who insinuate themselves into families in order to get influenceover sil y women who are obsessed with their sins and follow one craze after another,	6 Di costoro, infatti, fanno parte certuni che s'introducono nelle case ed accalappiano donnicciole, cariche di peccati, sballottate da voglie di ogni sorta,
7 always seeking learning, but unable ever to come to knowledge of the truth.	7 le quali stanno sempre lì ad imparare, senza mai poter arrivare alla conoscenza perfetta della verità.
8 Just as Jannes and Jambres defied Moses, so these men defy the truth, their minds corrupt and theirfaith spurious.	8 Allo stesso modo che Iannes e Iambres si opposero a Mosè, anche questi si oppongono alla verità, da uomini corrotti di mente quali sono, riprovati circa la fede.
9 But they will not be able to go on much longer: their fol y, like that of the other two, must become obviousto everybody.	9 Costoro però non andranno molto avanti, dato che la loro stoltezza si farà palese a tutti, come lo fu anche la stoltezza di quelli.
10 You, though, have followed my teaching, my way of life, my aims, my faith, my patience and my love,my perseverance	10 Tu però hai seguito da vicino il mio insegnamento, la mia condotta, i miei disegni, la mia fede, la longanimità, la carità, la pazienza,
11 and the persecutions and sufferings that came to me in places like Antioch, Iconium and Lystra -- althe persecutions I have endured; and the Lord has rescued me from every one of them.	11 le persecuzioni e i patimenti, come quelli che mi capitarono ad Antiochia, a Iconio e a Listra. Quali persecuzioni non ho sofferto! Eppure da tutte mi ha liberato il Signore.
12 But anybody who tries to live in devotion to Christ is certain to be persecuted;	12 Anche tutti coloro che vogliono vivere pienamente in Cristo Gesù, saranno perseguitati.
13 while these wicked impostors wil go from bad to worse, deceiving others, and themselves deceived.	13 I malvagi invece e gl'impostori faranno sempre maggiori progressi nel male, ingannando gli altri e venendo ingannati a loro volta.
14 You must keep to what you have been taught and know to be true; remember who your teachers were,	14 Tu però rimani fedele alle cose che hai imparato e delle quali hai acquistato la certezza, ben sapendo da quali persone le hai imparate
15 and how, ever since you were a child, you have known the holy scriptures -from these you can learnthe wisdom that leads to salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.	15 e che fin da bambino conosci le sacre Lettere: esse possono procurarti la sapienza che conduce alla salvezza per mezzo della fede in Cristo Gesù.
16 Al scripture is inspired by God and useful for refuting error, for guiding people's lives and teachingthem to be upright.	16 Ogni Scrittura, infatti, è ispirata da Dio e utile a insegnare, a riprendere, a correggere, a educare nella giustizia,
17 This is how someone who is dedicated to God becomes ful y equipped and ready for any good work.	17 affinché l'uomo di Dio sia ben formato, perfettamente attrezzato per ogni opera buona.
