¹ Paul, by the will of God an apostle of Christ Jesus, to God's holy people, faithful in Christ Jesus.	¹ Pablo, apóstol de Cristo Jesús por voluntad de Dios, a los santos, que están en Éfeso, a los fieles en Cristo Jesús:
² Grace and peace to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.	² Gracia y paz a vosotros de parte de Dios, nuestro Padre, y del Señor Jesucristo.
³ Blessed be God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all the spiritual blessingsof heaven in Christ.	³ Bendito sea Dios, Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, \| que nos ha bendecido en Cristo \| con toda clase de bendiciones espirituales en los cielos.
⁴ Thus he chose us in Christ before the world was made to be holy and faultless before him in love,	⁴ Él nos eligió en Cristo antes de la fundación del mundo \| para que fuésemos santos e intachables ante él por el amor.
⁵ marking us out for himself beforehand, to be adopted sons, through Jesus Christ. Such was hispurpose and good pleasure,	⁵ Él nos ha destinado por medio de Jesucristo, \| según el beneplácito de su voluntad, \| a ser sus hijos,
⁶ to the praise of the glory of his grace, his free gift to us in the Beloved,	⁶ para alabanza de la gloria de su gracia, \| que tan generosamente nos ha concedido en el Amado.

⁹ He has let us know the mystery of his purpose, according to his good pleasure which he determinedbeforehand in Christ,	⁹ dándonos a conocer el misterio de su voluntad: el plan que había proyectado
¹⁰ for him to act upon when the times had run their course: that he would bring everything together underChrist, as head, everything in the heavens and everything on earth.	¹⁰ realizar por Cristo, \| en la plenitud de los tiempos: \| recapitular en Cristo todas las cosas del cielo y de la tierra.
¹¹ And it is in him that we have received our heritage, marked out beforehand as we were, under the planof the One who guides al things as he decides by his own wil ,	¹¹ En él hemos heredado también \| los que ya estábamos destinados por decisión \| del que lo hace todo según su voluntad,
¹² chosen to be, for the praise of his glory, the people who would put their hopes in Christ before hecame.	¹² para que seamos alabanza de su gloria \| quienes antes esperábamos en el Mesías.
¹³ Now you too, in him, have heard the message of the truth and the gospel of your salvation, and havingput your trust in it you have been stamped with the seal of the Holy Spirit of the Promise,	¹³ En él también vosotros, \| después de haber escuchado la palabra de la verdad \| —el evangelio de vuestra salvación—, \| creyendo en él \| habéis sido marcados con el sello del Espíritu Santo prometido.
¹⁴ who is the pledge of our inheritance, for the freedom of the people whom God has taken for his own,for the praise of his glory.	¹⁴ Él es la prenda de nuestra herencia, \| mientras llega la redención del pueblo de su propiedad, \| para alabanza de su gloria.
¹⁵ That is why I, having once heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus, and your love for al God's holypeople,	¹⁵ Por eso, habiendo oído hablar de vuestra fe en Cristo y de vuestro amor a todos los santos,
¹⁶ have never failed to thank God for you and to remember you in my prayers.	¹⁶ no ceso de dar gracias por vosotros, recordándoos en mis oraciones,
¹⁷ May the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, give you a spirit of wisdom and perceptionof what is revealed, to bring you to ful knowledge of him.	¹⁷ a fin de que el Dios de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, el Padre de la gloria, os dé espíritu de sabiduría y revelación para conocerlo,
¹⁸ May he enlighten the eyes of your mind so that you can see what hope his cal holds for you, how richis the glory of the heritage he offers among his holy people,	¹⁸ e ilumine los ojos de vuestro corazón para que comprendáis cuál es la esperanza a la que os llama, cuál la riqueza de gloria que da en herencia a los santos,
¹⁹ and how extraordinarily great is the power that he has exercised for us believers; this accords with thestrength of his power	¹⁹ y cuál la extraordinaria grandeza de su poder en favor de nosotros, los creyentes, según la eficacia de su fuerza poderosa,
²⁰ at work in Christ, the power which he exercised in raising him from the dead and enthroning him at hisright hand, in heaven,	²⁰ que desplegó en Cristo, resucitándolo de entre los muertos y sentándolo a su derecha en el cielo,
²¹ far above every principality, ruling force, power or sovereignty, or any other name that can be named,not only in this age but also in the age to come.	²¹ por encima de todo principado, poder, fuerza y dominación, y por encima de todo nombre conocido, no solo en este mundo, sino en el futuro.
²² He has put al things under his feet, and made him, as he is above all things, the head of the Church;	²² Y todo lo puso bajo sus pies, y lo dio a la Iglesia, como Cabeza, sobre todo.
²³ which is his Body, the ful ness of him who is fil ed, al in al .	²³ Ella es su cuerpo, plenitud del que llena todo en todos.
