NEW JERUSALEMKING JAMES BIBLE
Paul, by the will of God an apostle of Christ Jesus, to God's holy people, faithful in Christ Jesus.1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:
Grace and peace to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.2 Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
Blessed be God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all the spiritual blessingsof heaven in Christ.3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
Thus he chose us in Christ before the world was made to be holy and faultless before him in love,4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
marking us out for himself beforehand, to be adopted sons, through Jesus Christ. Such was hispurpose and good pleasure,5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
to the praise of the glory of his grace, his free gift to us in the Beloved,6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
in whom, through his blood, we gain our freedom, the forgiveness of our sins. Such is the richness ofthe grace7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
which he has showered on us in al wisdom and insight.8 Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;
He has let us know the mystery of his purpose, according to his good pleasure which he determinedbeforehand in Christ,9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:
for him to act upon when the times had run their course: that he would bring everything together underChrist, as head, everything in the heavens and everything on earth.10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:
And it is in him that we have received our heritage, marked out beforehand as we were, under the planof the One who guides al things as he decides by his own wil ,11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
chosen to be, for the praise of his glory, the people who would put their hopes in Christ before hecame.12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
Now you too, in him, have heard the message of the truth and the gospel of your salvation, and havingput your trust in it you have been stamped with the seal of the Holy Spirit of the Promise,13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
who is the pledge of our inheritance, for the freedom of the people whom God has taken for his own,for the praise of his glory.14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
That is why I, having once heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus, and your love for al God's holypeople,15 Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,
have never failed to thank God for you and to remember you in my prayers.16 Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;
May the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, give you a spirit of wisdom and perceptionof what is revealed, to bring you to ful knowledge of him.17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
May he enlighten the eyes of your mind so that you can see what hope his cal holds for you, how richis the glory of the heritage he offers among his holy people,18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
and how extraordinarily great is the power that he has exercised for us believers; this accords with thestrength of his power19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to usward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
at work in Christ, the power which he exercised in raising him from the dead and enthroning him at hisright hand, in heaven,20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
far above every principality, ruling force, power or sovereignty, or any other name that can be named,not only in this age but also in the age to come.21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
He has put al things under his feet, and made him, as he is above all things, the head of the Church;22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
which is his Body, the ful ness of him who is fil ed, al in al .23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
