Ephesians 1

1 Paul, by the will of God an apostle of Christ Jesus, to God's holy people, faithful in Christ Jesus.	1 Paolo, apostolo di Gesù Cristo per volontà di Dio, ai santi che sono in Efeso e fedeli in Cristo Gesù:
2 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.	2 grazia a voi e pace da Dio Padre nostro e dal Signore Gesù Cristo.
3 Blessed be God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all the spiritual blessingsof heaven in Christ.	3 Benedetto Iddio e Padre del Signor nostro Gesù Cristo, il quale ci ha benedetti con ogni sorta di benedizione spirituale, nelle regioni celesti, in Cristo.
4 Thus he chose us in Christ before the world was made to be holy and faultless before him in love,	4 Così egli ci ha prescelti in lui, prima della fondazione del mondo, a essergli santi e senza macchia al cospetto suo,
5 marking us out for himself beforehand, to be adopted sons, through Jesus Christ. Such was hispurpose and good pleasure,	5 avendoci, nel suo amore, predestinati a essere figli adottivi, per Gesù Cristo, secondo il beneplacito della sua volontà,
6 to the praise of the glory of his grace, his free gift to us in the Beloved,	6 affinché fosse magnificata la gloria della grazia sua, della quale ci ha favoriti nel Diletto.
7 in whom, through his blood, we gain our freedom, the forgiveness of our sins. Such is the richness ofthe grace	7 In lui noi abbiamo la redenzione, per il suo sangue, la remissione delle colpe, a misura della ricchezza della grazia sua

11 And it is in him that we have received our heritage, marked out beforehand as we were, under the planof the One who guides al things as he decides by his own wil ,	11 In lui ancora siamo stati costituiti eredi, predestinati, secondo il disegno di colui che opera ogni cosa conforme al consiglio della sua volontà,
12 chosen to be, for the praise of his glory, the people who would put their hopes in Christ before hecame.	12 a essere, per la lode della sua gloria coloro che per primi hanno sperato nel Cristo.
13 Now you too, in him, have heard the message of the truth and the gospel of your salvation, and havingput your trust in it you have been stamped with the seal of the Holy Spirit of the Promise,	13 In lui anche voi, avendo ascoltata la parola della verità, l’evangelo della vostra salvezza, e in lui ancora avendo creduto, siete stati segnati col suggello dello Spirito Santo promesso;
14 who is the pledge of our inheritance, for the freedom of the people whom God has taken for his own,for the praise of his glory.	14 il quale è il pegno della nostra eredità, per la salvezza di coloro che sono stati acquisiti, a lode della gloria di lui.
15 That is why I, having once heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus, and your love for al God's holypeople,	15 Perciò anch'io, avendo udito della fede vostra nel Signore Gesù e della carità verso tutti i santi,
16 have never failed to thank God for you and to remember you in my prayers.	16 non cesso di rendere grazie per voi, facendo di voi memoria nelle mie preghiere,
17 May the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, give you a spirit of wisdom and perceptionof what is revealed, to bring you to ful knowledge of him.	17 affinché il Dio del Signore nostro Gesù Cristo, il padre della gloria, dia a voi spirito di sapienza e di rivelazione per ben conoscerlo.
18 May he enlighten the eyes of your mind so that you can see what hope his cal holds for you, how richis the glory of the heritage he offers among his holy people,	18 Voglia lui illuminare gli occhi della vostra intelligenza, affinché possiate conoscere a quale speranza vi ha egli chiamati, quale ricchezza di gloria vi riserva la sua eredità tra i santi,
19 and how extraordinarily great is the power that he has exercised for us believers; this accords with thestrength of his power	19 e quale sia la grandezza sovrabbondante della sua potenza a favore di noi che crediamo, come l’attesta la forza sovrana
20 at work in Christ, the power which he exercised in raising him from the dead and enthroning him at hisright hand, in heaven,	20 che egli dispiegò in Cristo, risuscitandolo dai morti e facendole sedere alla sua destra nelle regioni celesti:
21 far above every principality, ruling force, power or sovereignty, or any other name that can be named,not only in this age but also in the age to come.	21 sopra ogni principato e potestà e potenza e dominazione e ogni altro titolo che potrebbe essere nominato non solo nel secolo presente ma anche nel futuro.
22 He has put al things under his feet, and made him, as he is above all things, the head of the Church;	22 E tutto egli ha sottomesso ai piedi di lui, e lo ha posto al di sopra di tutto, quale capo della Chiesa,
23 which is his Body, the ful ness of him who is fil ed, al in al .	23 che è il suo corpo, la pienezza di lui che riempie tutti sotto ogni aspetto.
