Ephesians 1

1 Paul, by the will of God an apostle of Christ Jesus, to God's holy people, faithful in Christ Jesus.	1 - Paolo, apostolo di Cristo Gesù per volontà di Dio, ai Santi che sono in Efeso e ai fedeli in Gesù Cristo;
2 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.	2 grazia a voi e pace da Dio Padre nostro e dal Signore Gesù Cristo.
3 Blessed be God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all the spiritual blessingsof heaven in Christ.	3 Benedetto Iddio e Padre del Signor nostro Gesù Cristo, il quale ci ha benedetti con ogni benedizione spirituale, celeste, in Cristo,
4 Thus he chose us in Christ before the world was made to be holy and faultless before him in love,	4 in quanto ci ha eletti in Lui, prima della fondazione del mondo, a esser santi e irreprensibili nel suo cospetto, per amore
5 marking us out for himself beforehand, to be adopted sons, through Jesus Christ. Such was hispurpose and good pleasure,	5 avendoci predestinati a esser figli suoi adottivi per mezzo di Gesù Cristo, secondo la benignità del suo volere,
6 to the praise of the glory of his grace, his free gift to us in the Beloved,	6 sì che ciò torni a lode della gloriosa manifestazione della grazia sua, di cui ci fece dono nel suo diletto Figliuolo.
7 in whom, through his blood, we gain our freedom, the forgiveness of our sins. Such is the richness ofthe grace	7 In Lui noi abbiamo la redenzione per mezzo del suo sangue, la remissione dei peccati secondo la ricchezza della sua grazia,
8 which he has showered on us in al wisdom and insight.	8 di cui fu largo a noi in ogni sapienza e prudenza,
9 He has let us know the mystery of his purpose, according to his good pleasure which he determinedbeforehand in Christ,	9 facendoci conoscere il mistero della sua volontà secondo la benignità sua, volontà che Egli aveva in sè prestabilita,
10 for him to act upon when the times had run their course: that he would bring everything together underChrist, as head, everything in the heavens and everything on earth.	10 per tradurla in atto nella pienezza dei tempi; e [il mistero consiste in questo]: cioè nell'instaurare tutte le cose in Cristo, sia le cose celesti sia le terrestri. In Cristo
11 And it is in him that we have received our heritage, marked out beforehand as we were, under the planof the One who guides al things as he decides by his own wil ,	11 nel quale siamo anche stati fatti eredi noi, predestinati a ciò secondo il proposito di Chi tutto agisce secondo il consiglio della propria volontà,
12 chosen to be, for the praise of his glory, the people who would put their hopes in Christ before hecame.	12 sì che noi riusciamo a lode della sua gloria; noi che fin da prima abbiamo sperato in Cristo;
13 Now you too, in him, have heard the message of the truth and the gospel of your salvation, and havingput your trust in it you have been stamped with the seal of the Holy Spirit of the Promise,	13 nel quale anche voi, udita la parola della verità, (la buona novella della salvezza nostra), avete riposto fede, e avete ricevuto l'impronta dello Spirito Santo della promessa,
14 who is the pledge of our inheritance, for the freedom of the people whom God has taken for his own,for the praise of his glory.	14 il quale è caparra della nostra eredità per la redenzione delle genti che egli fece sue a lode della sua gloria.
15 That is why I, having once heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus, and your love for al God's holypeople,	15 Per questo ancor io, sentendo la fede vostra nel Signore Gesù e l'amore che portate a tutti i santi,
16 have never failed to thank God for you and to remember you in my prayers.	16 non cesso dal ringraziare per voi, facendo di voi menzione nelle mie preghiere,
17 May the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, give you a spirit of wisdom and perceptionof what is revealed, to bring you to ful knowledge of him.	17 affinchè il Dio del Signor nostro Gesù Cristo, il Padre della gloria, vi dia Spirito di sapienza e di rivelazione, nella piena conoscenza di lui,
18 May he enlighten the eyes of your mind so that you can see what hope his cal holds for you, how richis the glory of the heritage he offers among his holy people,	18 e siano illuminati gli occhi del vostro cuore, affinchè sappiate qual è la speranza a che v'ha chiamati, quanto sia ricca la gloria della sua eredità fra i santi,
19 and how extraordinarily great is the power that he has exercised for us believers; this accords with thestrength of his power	19 e quanto immensamente grande la sua potenza su di noi credenti; per l'efficacia della sua potente forza;
20 at work in Christ, the power which he exercised in raising him from the dead and enthroning him at hisright hand, in heaven,	20 la quale egli esercitò in Cristo, risuscitandolo dai morti, e facendolo sedere alla sua destra nei cieli,
21 far above every principality, ruling force, power or sovereignty, or any other name that can be named,not only in this age but also in the age to come.	21 al di sopra d'ogni Principato e Podestà, Virtù e Dominazione e al di sopra di ogni titolo che si possa dare non solo nell'età presente ma anche nella futura.
22 He has put al things under his feet, and made him, as he is above all things, the head of the Church;	22 E tutto pose sotto i suoi piedi, e Lui costituì capo supremo alla Chiesa,
23 which is his Body, the ful ness of him who is fil ed, al in al .	23 che è il corpo di Lui, il complemento di Colui che tutto completa in tutti.
