Ephesians 1

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 Paul, by the will of God an apostle of Christ Jesus, to God's holy people, faithful in Christ Jesus.	1 Paolo, apostolo di Cristo Gesù per volontà di Dio, ai santi e fedeli in Cristo Gesù.
2 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.	2 Grazia e pace a voi da Dio, nostro Padre, e dal Signore Gesù Cristo.
3 Blessed be God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all the spiritual blessingsof heaven in Christ.	3 Benedetto Dio e Padre del Signore nostro Gesù Cristo, il quale nei cieli ci ha colmati di ogni sorta di benedizione spirituale in Cristo.
4 Thus he chose us in Christ before the world was made to be holy and faultless before him in love,	4 Egli ci elesse in lui prima della creazione del mondo, perché fossimo santi e irreprensibili davanti a lui nell'amore,
5 marking us out for himself beforehand, to be adopted sons, through Jesus Christ. Such was hispurpose and good pleasure,	5 predestinandoci ad essere suoi figli adottivi, tramite Gesù Cristo, secondo il benevolo disegno della sua volontà,
6 to the praise of the glory of his grace, his free gift to us in the Beloved,	6 a lode dello splendore della sua grazia, con la quale ci ha gratificati nel Diletto.
7 in whom, through his blood, we gain our freedom, the forgiveness of our sins. Such is the richness ofthe grace	7 In lui, mediante il suo sangue, otteniamo la redenzione, il perdono dei peccati, secondo la ricchezza della sua grazia,
8 which he has showered on us in al wisdom and insight.	8 che si è generosamente riversata in noi con ogni sorta di sapienza e intelligenza.
9 He has let us know the mystery of his purpose, according to his good pleasure which he determinedbeforehand in Christ,	9 Egli ci ha manifestato il mistero della sua volontà secondo il suo benevolo disegno che aveva in lui formato,
10 for him to act upon when the times had run their course: that he would bring everything together underChrist, as head, everything in the heavens and everything on earth.	10 per realizzarlo nella pienezza dei tempi: accentrare nel Cristo tutti gli esseri, quelli celesti e quelli terrestri.
11 And it is in him that we have received our heritage, marked out beforehand as we were, under the planof the One who guides al things as he decides by his own wil ,	11 In lui poi siamo stati scelti, essendo stati predestinati secondo il disegno di colui che tutto compie in conformità del suo volere,
12 chosen to be, for the praise of his glory, the people who would put their hopes in Christ before hecame.	12 per essere noi, i primi che hanno sperato in Cristo, a lode della sua gloria.
13 Now you too, in him, have heard the message of the truth and the gospel of your salvation, and havingput your trust in it you have been stamped with the seal of the Holy Spirit of the Promise,	13 In lui anche voi, dopo avere udita la parola della verità, il vangelo della vostra salvezza, e aver anche creduto, siete stati segnati con lo Spirito Santo che fu promesso;
14 who is the pledge of our inheritance, for the freedom of the people whom God has taken for his own,for the praise of his glory.	14 questi è l'anticipo della nostra eredità, per il riscatto della sua proprietà, a lode della sua gloria.
15 That is why I, having once heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus, and your love for al God's holypeople,	15 Per questo anch'io, avendo udito parlare della vostra fede nel Signore Gesù e del vostro amore per tutti i santi,
16 have never failed to thank God for you and to remember you in my prayers.	16 non cesso di ringraziare per voi ricordandovi nelle mie preghiere,
17 May the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, give you a spirit of wisdom and perceptionof what is revealed, to bring you to ful knowledge of him.	17 affinché il Dio del Signore nostro Gesù Cristo, il Padre della gloria, vi doni uno spirito di sapienza e di rivelazione per meglio conoscerlo;
18 May he enlighten the eyes of your mind so that you can see what hope his cal holds for you, how richis the glory of the heritage he offers among his holy people,	18 illumini gli occhi della mente, perché possiate comprendere quale è la speranza della sua chiamata, quale la ricchezza della sua gloriosa eredità tra i santi,
19 and how extraordinarily great is the power that he has exercised for us believers; this accords with thestrength of his power	19 e quale la straordinaria grandezza della potenza verso di noi che crediamo, come attesta l'efficacia della sua forza irresistibile,
20 at work in Christ, the power which he exercised in raising him from the dead and enthroning him at hisright hand, in heaven,	20 che dispiegò nel Cristo risuscitandolo dai morti e insediandolo alla sua destra nella sommità dei cieli,
21 far above every principality, ruling force, power or sovereignty, or any other name that can be named,not only in this age but also in the age to come.	21 al di sopra di ogni principio, autorità, potenza, signoria e di ogni altro nome che viene nominato non solo in questo secolo, ma anche in quello avvenire.
22 He has put al things under his feet, and made him, as he is above all things, the head of the Church;	22 Ha posto tutto sotto i suoi piedi e lo ha costituito, al di sopra di tutto, capo della chiesa,
23 which is his Body, the ful ness of him who is fil ed, al in al .	23 che è il corpo, la pienezza di lui che tutto, sotto ogni aspetto, riempie.
