1 Paul, by the will of God an apostle of Christ Jesus, to God's holy people, faithful in Christ Jesus.	1 Paolo per volontà di Dio Apostolo di Gesù Cristo, ai santi tutti che sono in Efeso, e fedeli in Cristo Gesù.
2 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.	2 Grazia, e pace a voi da Dio padre nostro, e dal Signor Gesù Cristo.
3 Blessed be God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all the spiritual blessingsof heaven in Christ.	3 Benedetto Dio, e Padre del Signor nostro Gesù Cristo, il quale ci ha benedetti con ogni benedizione spirituale del cielo in Cristo,
4 Thus he chose us in Christ before the world was made to be holy and faultless before him in love,	4 Siccome in lui ci elesse prima della fondazione del mondo, affinchè fossimo santi, ed immacolati nel cospetto di lui per carità.
5 marking us out for himself beforehand, to be adopted sons, through Jesus Christ. Such was hispurpose and good pleasure,	5 Il quale ci predestinò all'adozione de' figliuoli per Gesù Cristo a gloria sua secondo il beneplacito della sua volontà,
6 to the praise of the glory of his grace, his free gift to us in the Beloved,	6 Onde si celebri la gloria della grazia di lui, mediante la quale ci ha renduti accetti nel diletto suo Figlio.
7 in whom, through his blood, we gain our freedom, the forgiveness of our sins. Such is the richness ofthe grace	7 In cui abbiamo la redenzione pel sangue di lui, la remissione de' peccati per la dovizia della sua grazia,
8 which he has showered on us in al wisdom and insight.	8 La quale ha soprabbondato in noi in ogni sapienza, e prudenza:
9 He has let us know the mystery of his purpose, according to his good pleasure which he determinedbeforehand in Christ,	9 Per far noto a noi il mistero della sua volontà, secondo il suo beneplacito, che aveva egli seco stabilito,
10 for him to act upon when the times had run their course: that he would bring everything together underChrist, as head, everything in the heavens and everything on earth.	10 Di riunire nella ordinata pienezza de' tempi in Cristo tutte le cose, e quelle, che sono ne' cieli, e quelle, che sono in terra:
11 And it is in him that we have received our heritage, marked out beforehand as we were, under the planof the One who guides al things as he decides by his own wil ,	11 In lui, nel quale eziandio fummo noi chiamati a sorte, predestinati giusta il decreto di lui, che opera il tutto secondo il consiglio della sua volontà:
12 chosen to be, for the praise of his glory, the people who would put their hopes in Christ before hecame.	12 Affinchè siamo argomento di lode alla gloria di lui noi, che abbiamo i primi sperato in Cristo:
13 Now you too, in him, have heard the message of the truth and the gospel of your salvation, and havingput your trust in it you have been stamped with the seal of the Holy Spirit of the Promise,	13 In cui (avete sperato) anche voi, adita la parola di verità, (il vangelo della vostra salute) al quale avendo anche creduto, avete ricevuto l'impronta dello Spirito di promissione santo,
14 who is the pledge of our inheritance, for the freedom of the people whom God has taken for his own,for the praise of his glory.	14 Il quale è caparra della nostra eredità per la redenzione del popol d'acquisto a lode della gloria di lui.
15 That is why I, having once heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus, and your love for al God's holypeople,	15 Per questo io ho pure udita la fede vostra nel Signor Gesù, e la dilezione verso tutti i santi,
16 have never failed to thank God for you and to remember you in my prayers.	16 Non cesso di render grazie per voi, facendo di voi memoria nelle mie orazioni:
17 May the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, give you a spirit of wisdom and perceptionof what is revealed, to bring you to ful knowledge of him.	17 Affinchè il Dio del Signor nostro Gesù Cristo, il padre della gloria dia a voi lo spirito di sapienza, e di rivelazione pel conoscimento di lui;
18 May he enlighten the eyes of your mind so that you can see what hope his cal holds for you, how richis the glory of the heritage he offers among his holy people,	18 Illuminati gli occhi del vostro cuore, affinchè sappiate, quale sia la speranza della vocazione di lui, e quali le ricchezze della gloria dell'eredità di lui per li santi,
19 and how extraordinarily great is the power that he has exercised for us believers; this accords with thestrength of his power	19 E quale sia la sopreminente grandezza della virtù di lui in noi, che crediamo secondo l'operazione della potente virtù di lui,
20 at work in Christ, the power which he exercised in raising him from the dead and enthroning him at hisright hand, in heaven,	20 Dispiegata efficacemente in Cristo risuscitandolo da morte, e collocandolo alla sua destra ne' cieli,
21 far above every principality, ruling force, power or sovereignty, or any other name that can be named,not only in this age but also in the age to come.	21 Al di sopra di ogni principato, e potestà, e virtù, e dominazione, e sopra qualunque nome, che sia nominato non solo in questo secolo, ma anche nel futuro.
22 He has put al things under his feet, and made him, as he is above all things, the head of the Church;	22 E le cose tutte pose sotto i piedi di lui: e lui constituì capo sopra tutta la Chiesa,
23 which is his Body, the ful ness of him who is fil ed, al in al .	23 La quale è il corpo di lui, ed di complemento di lui, il quale tutto in tutti si compie.
