Romans 12

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA TINTORI
1 I urge you, then, brothers, remembering the mercies of God, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, dedicated and acceptable to God; that is the kind of worship for you, as sensible people.	1 Io vi esorto dunque, o fratelli, per la misericordia di Dio, ad offrire i vostri corpi in sacrifizio vivente, santo, gradito a Dio, il ragionevole vostro culto.
2 Do not model your behaviour on the contemporary world, but let the renewing of your mindstransform you, so that you may discern for yourselves what is the wil of God -- what is good and acceptable andmature.	2 E non vogliate conformarvi al presente secolo; ma riformate voi stessi col rinnovamento del vostro spirito, per distinguere quale sia la volontà di Dio, buona, gradita e perfetta.
3 And through the grace that I have been given, I say this to every one of you: never pride yourself onbeing better than you real y are, but think of yourself dispassionately, recognising that God has given to eachone his measure of faith.	3 In virtù della grazia che m'è stata data, io dico a ciascuno di voi di non voler sapere più del necessario, ma tanto che basti, secondo la misura di fede che Dio ha distribuito a ciascuno.
4 Just as each of us has various parts in one body, and the parts do not al have the same function:	4 Infatti, come in un sol corpo noi abbiamo molte membra, e non tutte le membra hanno la medesima funzione,
5 in the same way, al of us, though there are so many of us, make up one body in Christ, and asdifferent parts we are al joined to one another.	5 così noi, sebben molti, formiamo un unico corpo in Cristo e individualmente siamo uno membro dell'altro.
6 Then since the gifts that we have differ according to the grace that was given to each of us: if it is agift of prophecy, we should prophesy as much as our faith tells us;	6 Avendo noi dei doni differenti secondo la grazia che ci è stata donata, chi ha la profezia (l'eserciti) secondo la regola della fede;
7 if it is a gift of practical service, let us devote ourselves to serving; if it is teaching, to teaching;	7 chi il ministero, amministri; chi l'insegnamento, insegni;
8 if it is encouraging, to encouraging. When you give, you should give generously from the heart; if youare put in charge, you must be conscientious; if you do works of mercy, let it be because you enjoy doing them.	8 chi ha l'esortazione, esorti; chi distribuisce (lo faccia) con semplicità; chi presiede, con sollecitudine; chi fa opere di misericordia, con ilarità.
9 Let love be without any pretence. Avoid what is evil; stick to what is good.	9 La vostra carità non sia fìnta. Odiate il male; affezionatevi al bene.
10 In brotherly love let your feelings of deep affection for one another come to expression and regardothers as more important than yourself.	10 Amatevi scambievolmente con amore fraterno, prevenendovi gli uni gli altri nel rendervi onore.
11 In the service of the Lord, work not halfheartedly but with conscientiousness and an eager spirit.	11 Non pigri nello zelo, ferventi nello spirito, servite al Signore.
12 Be joyful in hope, persevere in hardship; keep praying regularly;	12 Siate allegri per la speranza, pazienti nella tribolazione, assidui nella preghiera.
13 share with any of God's holy people who are in need; look for opportunities to be hospitable.	13 Provvedete ai bisogni dei santi; praticate l'ospitalità.
14 Bless your persecutors; never curse them, bless them.	14 Benedite quelli che vi perseguitano: benedite e non vogliate maledire.
15 Rejoice with others when they rejoice, and be sad with those in sorrow.	15 Rallegratevi con chi gioisce; piangete con chi piange,
16 Give the same consideration to al others alike. Pay no regard to social standing, but meet humblepeople on their own terms. Do not congratulate yourself on your own wisdom.	16 avendo gli stessi sentimenti l'uno per l'altro. Non aspirate alle cose alte, ma adattatevi alle umili, e non vi stimate saggi da voi stessi.
17 Never pay back evil with evil, but bear in mind the ideals that all regard with respect.	17 Non rendete ad alcuno male per male, e cercate di fare il bene non soltanto davanti a Dio, ma amche davanti a tutti gli uomini.
18 As much as possible, and to the utmost of your ability, be at peace with everyone.	18 Se è possibile, per quanto è da voi, vivete in pace con tutti.
19 Never try to get revenge: leave that, my dear friends, to the Retribution. As scripture says:Vengeance is mine -- I wil pay them back, the Lord promises.	19 Non vi vendicate da voi stessi, o carissimi, ma lasciate fare all'ira (divina); perchè sta scritto: A me la vendetta; io farò giustizia, dice il Signore.
20 And more: If your enemy is hungry, give him something to eat; if thirsty, something to drink. By this,you wil be heaping red-hot coals on his head.	20 Se pertanto il tuo nemico ha fame, dagli da mangiare; se ha sete, dagli da bere; e tu, così facendo, ammasserai carboni ardenti sopra la sua testa.
21 Do not be mastered by evil, but master evil with good.	21 Non ti lasciar vincere dal male ma vinci col bene il male.
