Romans 12

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 I urge you, then, brothers, remembering the mercies of God, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, dedicated and acceptable to God; that is the kind of worship for you, as sensible people.	1 Os exhorto, pues, hermanos, por la misericordia de Dios, que ofrezcáis vuestros cuerpos como una víctima viva, santa, agradable a Dios: tal será vuestro culto espiritual.
2 Do not model your behaviour on the contemporary world, but let the renewing of your mindstransform you, so that you may discern for yourselves what is the wil of God -- what is good and acceptable andmature.	2 Y no os acomodéis al mundo presente, antes bien transformaos mediante la renovación de vuestra mente, de forma que podáis distinguir cuál es la voluntad de Dios: lo bueno, lo agradable, lo perfecto.
3 And through the grace that I have been given, I say this to every one of you: never pride yourself onbeing better than you real y are, but think of yourself dispassionately, recognising that God has given to eachone his measure of faith.	3 En virtud de la gracia que me fue dada, os digo a todos y a cada uno de vosotros: No os estiméis en más de lo que conviene; tened más bien una sobria estima según la medida de la fe que otorgó Dios a cada cual.
4 Just as each of us has various parts in one body, and the parts do not al have the same function:	4 Pues, así como nuestro cuerpo, en su unidad, posee muchos miembros, y no desempeñan todos los miembros la misma función,
5 in the same way, al of us, though there are so many of us, make up one body in Christ, and asdifferent parts we are al joined to one another.	5 así también nosotros, siendo muchos, no formamos más que un solo cuerpo en Cristo, siendo cada uno por su parte los unos miembros de los otros.
6 Then since the gifts that we have differ according to the grace that was given to each of us: if it is agift of prophecy, we should prophesy as much as our faith tells us;	6 Pero teniendo dones diferentes, según la gracia que nos ha sido dada, si es el don de profecía, ejerzámoslo en la medida de nuestra fe;
7 if it is a gift of practical service, let us devote ourselves to serving; if it is teaching, to teaching;	7 si es el ministerio, en el ministerio; la enseñanza, enseñando;
8 if it is encouraging, to encouraging. When you give, you should give generously from the heart; if youare put in charge, you must be conscientious; if you do works of mercy, let it be because you enjoy doing them.	8 la exhortación, exhortando. El que da, con sencillez; el que preside, con solicitud; el que ejerce la misericordia, con jovialidad.
9 Let love be without any pretence. Avoid what is evil; stick to what is good.	9 Vuestra caridad sea sin fingimiento; detestando el mal, adhiriéndoos al bien;
10 In brotherly love let your feelings of deep affection for one another come to expression and regardothers as more important than yourself.	10 amándoos cordialmente los unos a los otros; estimando en más cada uno a los otros;
11 In the service of the Lord, work not halfheartedly but with conscientiousness and an eager spirit.	11 con un celo sin negligencia; con esp1ritu fervoroso; sirviendo al Señor;
12 Be joyful in hope, persevere in hardship; keep praying regularly;	12 con la alegría de la esperanza; constantes en la tribulación; perseverantes en la oración;
13 share with any of God's holy people who are in need; look for opportunities to be hospitable.	13 compartiendo las necesitades de los santos; practicando la hospitalidad.
14 Bless your persecutors; never curse them, bless them.	14 Bendecid a los que os persiguen, no maldigáis.
15 Rejoice with others when they rejoice, and be sad with those in sorrow.	15 Alegraos con los que se alegran; llorad con los que lloran.
16 Give the same consideration to al others alike. Pay no regard to social standing, but meet humblepeople on their own terms. Do not congratulate yourself on your own wisdom.	16 Tened un mismo sentir los unos para con los otros; sin complaceros en la altivez; atraídos más bien por lo humilde; no os complazcáis en vuestra propia sabiduria.
17 Never pay back evil with evil, but bear in mind the ideals that all regard with respect.	17 Sin devolver a nadie mal por mal; procurando el bien ante todos los hobres:
18 As much as possible, and to the utmost of your ability, be at peace with everyone.	18 en lo posible, y en cuanto de vosotros dependa, en paz con todos los hombres;
19 Never try to get revenge: leave that, my dear friends, to the Retribution. As scripture says:Vengeance is mine -- I wil pay them back, the Lord promises.	19 no tomando la justicia por cuenta vuestra, queridos míos, dejad lugar a la Cólera, pues dice la Escritura: Mía es la venganza: yo daré el pago merecido, dice el Señor.
20 And more: If your enemy is hungry, give him something to eat; if thirsty, something to drink. By this,you wil be heaping red-hot coals on his head.	20 Antes al contrario: si tu enemigo tiene hambre, dale de comer; y si tiene sed, dale de beber; haciéndolo así, amontonarás ascuas sobre su cabeza.
21 Do not be mastered by evil, but master evil with good.	21 No te dejes vencer por el mal; antes bien, vence al mal con el bien.
