Romans 12

1 I urge you, then, brothers, remembering the mercies of God, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, dedicated and acceptable to God; that is the kind of worship for you, as sensible people.	1 Io vi scongiuro adunque, o fratelli, per la misericordia di Dio, che presentiate i vostri corpi ostia viva, santa, gradevole a Dio (che è) il razionale vostro culto.
2 Do not model your behaviour on the contemporary world, but let the renewing of your mindstransform you, so that you may discern for yourselves what is the wil of God -- what is good and acceptable andmature.	2 E non vogliate conformarvi a questo secolo, ma riformate voi stessi col rinnovellamento della vostra mente, per ravvisare qual sia la volontà di Dio, buona, gradevole, e perfetta.
3 And through the grace that I have been given, I say this to every one of you: never pride yourself onbeing better than you real y are, but think of yourself dispassionately, recognising that God has given to eachone his measure of faith.	3 Dico adunque per la grazia, che mi è stata data, a quanti son tra di voi: che non siano saggi più di quel, che convenga esser saggi, ma di essere moderatamente saggi, e secondo la misura della fede distribuita da Dio a ciascheduno.
4 Just as each of us has various parts in one body, and the parts do not al have the same function:	4 Imperocché siccome in un sol corpo abbiam molte membra, e non tutte le membra hanno la stessa azione:
5 in the same way, al of us, though there are so many of us, make up one body in Christ, and asdifferent parts we are al joined to one another.	5 Cosi siamo molti un solo corpo in Cristo, e a uno a uno membra gli uni degli altri.
6 Then since the gifts that we have differ according to the grace that was given to each of us: if it is agift of prophecy, we should prophesy as much as our faith tells us;	6 Abbiam però doni diversi secondo la grazia, che ci è stata data; chi la profezia (la usi) secondo la regola della fede;
7 if it is a gift of practical service, let us devote ourselves to serving; if it is teaching, to teaching;	7 Chi il ministero, amministri; chi l'insegnare, insegni;
8 if it is encouraging, to encouraging. When you give, you should give generously from the heart; if youare put in charge, you must be conscientious; if you do works of mercy, let it be because you enjoy doing them.	8 L'ammonitore ammonisca; chi fa altrui parte del suo (la faccia) con semplicità; chi presiede, sia sollecito; chi fa opere di misericordia (le faccia) con ilarità.
9 Let love be without any pretence. Avoid what is evil; stick to what is good.	9 Dilezione non finta. Abborrimento del male, affezione al bene:
10 In brotherly love let your feelings of deep affection for one another come to expression and regardothers as more important than yourself.	10 Amandovi scambievolmente con fraterna carità: prevenendovi gli uni gli altri nel rendervi onore:
11 In the service of the Lord, work not halfheartedly but with conscientiousness and an eager spirit.	11 Per sollecitudine non tardi: fervorosi di spirito: servendo noi al Signore:
12 Be joyful in hope, persevere in hardship; keep praying regularly;	12 Lieti per la speranza: pazienti nella tribolazione: assidui nell'orazione:
13 share with any of God's holy people who are in need; look for opportunities to be hospitable.	13 Entrando a parte de' bisogni dei Santi: praticando ospitalità.
14 Bless your persecutors; never curse them, bless them.	14 Benedite coloro, che vi perseguitano: benedite, e non vogliate maledire.
15 Rejoice with others when they rejoice, and be sad with those in sorrow.	15 Rallegrarsi con chi si rallegra, piangere con chi piange:
16 Give the same consideration to al others alike. Pay no regard to social standing, but meet humblepeople on their own terms. Do not congratulate yourself on your own wisdom.	16 Avendo gli stessi sentimenti l'uno per l'altro: non assettando cose sublimi, ma adattandovi alle cose basse. Non vogliate esser sapienti negli occhi vostri:
17 Never pay back evil with evil, but bear in mind the ideals that all regard with respect.	17 Non rendendo male per male: avendo cura di ben fare non solo negli occhi di Dio, ma anche in quelli di tutti gli uomini.
18 As much as possible, and to the utmost of your ability, be at peace with everyone.	18 Se è possibile, per quanto da voi dipende, avendo pace con tutti gli uomini:
19 Never try to get revenge: leave that, my dear friends, to the Retribution. As scripture says:Vengeance is mine -- I wil pay them back, the Lord promises.	19 Non vendicandovi da voi stessi, o carissimi, ma date luogo all'ira; imperocché sta scritto: A me la vendetta; io farò ragione, dice il Signore.
20 And more: If your enemy is hungry, give him something to eat; if thirsty, something to drink. By this,you wil be heaping red-hot coals on his head.	20 Se pertanto il nemico tuo ha fame,dagli da mangiare: se ha sete, dagli da bere: imperocché così facendo, ragunerai carboni ardenti sopra la sua testa.
21 Do not be mastered by evil, but master evil with good.	21 Non voler esser vinto dal male, ma vinci col bene il male.
