Romans 12

1 I urge you, then, brothers, remembering the mercies of God, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, dedicated and acceptable to God; that is the kind of worship for you, as sensible people.	1 Vi esorto dunque, fratelli, per la misericordia di Dio, a offrire i vostri corpi come sacrificio vivente, santo e gradito a Dio; è questo il vostro culto spirituale.
2 Do not model your behaviour on the contemporary world, but let the renewing of your mindstransform you, so that you may discern for yourselves what is the wil of God -- what is good and acceptable andmature.	2 Non conformatevi a questo mondo, ma lasciatevi trasformare rinnovando il vostro modo di pensare, per poter discernere la volontà di Dio, ciò che è buono, a lui gradito e perfetto.
3 And through the grace that I have been given, I say this to every one of you: never pride yourself onbeing better than you real y are, but think of yourself dispassionately, recognising that God has given to eachone his measure of faith.	3 Per la grazia che mi è stata data, io dico a ciascuno di voi: non valutatevi più di quanto conviene, ma valutatevi in modo saggio e giusto, ciascuno secondo la misura di fede che Dio gli ha dato.
4 Just as each of us has various parts in one body, and the parts do not al have the same function:	4 Poiché, come in un solo corpo abbiamo molte membra e queste membra non hanno tutte la medesima funzione,
5 in the same way, al of us, though there are so many of us, make up one body in Christ, and asdifferent parts we are al joined to one another.	5 così anche noi, pur essendo molti, siamo un solo corpo in Cristo e, ciascuno per la sua parte, siamo membra gli uni degli altri.
6 Then since the gifts that we have differ according to the grace that was given to each of us: if it is agift of prophecy, we should prophesy as much as our faith tells us;	6 Abbiamo doni diversi secondo la grazia data a ciascuno di noi: chi ha il dono della profezia la eserciti secondo ciò che detta la fede;
7 if it is a gift of practical service, let us devote ourselves to serving; if it is teaching, to teaching;	7 chi ha un ministero attenda al ministero; chi insegna si dedichi all’insegnamento;
8 if it is encouraging, to encouraging. When you give, you should give generously from the heart; if youare put in charge, you must be conscientious; if you do works of mercy, let it be because you enjoy doing them.	8 chi esorta si dedichi all’esortazione. Chi dona, lo faccia con semplicità; chi presiede, presieda con diligenza; chi fa opere di misericordia, le compia con gioia.
9 Let love be without any pretence. Avoid what is evil; stick to what is good.	9 La carità non sia ipocrita: detestate il male, attaccatevi al bene;
10 In brotherly love let your feelings of deep affection for one another come to expression and regardothers as more important than yourself.	10 amatevi gli uni gli altri con affetto fraterno, gareggiate nello stimarvi a vicenda.
11 In the service of the Lord, work not halfheartedly but with conscientiousness and an eager spirit.	11 Non siate pigri nel fare il bene, siate invece ferventi nello spirito; servite il Signore.
12 Be joyful in hope, persevere in hardship; keep praying regularly;	12 Siate lieti nella speranza, costanti nella tribolazione, perseveranti nella preghiera.
13 share with any of God's holy people who are in need; look for opportunities to be hospitable.	13 Condividete le necessità dei santi; siate premurosi nell’ospitalità.
14 Bless your persecutors; never curse them, bless them.	14 Benedite coloro che vi perseguitano, benedite e non maledite.
15 Rejoice with others when they rejoice, and be sad with those in sorrow.	15 Rallegratevi con quelli che sono nella gioia; piangete con quelli che sono nel pianto.
16 Give the same consideration to al others alike. Pay no regard to social standing, but meet humblepeople on their own terms. Do not congratulate yourself on your own wisdom.	16 Abbiate i medesimi sentimenti gli uni verso gli altri; non nutrite desideri di grandezza; volgetevi piuttosto a ciò che è umile. Non stimatevi sapienti da voi stessi.
17 Never pay back evil with evil, but bear in mind the ideals that all regard with respect.	17 Non rendete a nessuno male per male. Cercate di compiere il bene davanti a tutti gli uomini.
18 As much as possible, and to the utmost of your ability, be at peace with everyone.	18 Se possibile, per quanto dipende da voi, vivete in pace con tutti.
19 Never try to get revenge: leave that, my dear friends, to the Retribution. As scripture says:Vengeance is mine -- I wil pay them back, the Lord promises.	19 Non fatevi giustizia da voi stessi, carissimi, ma lasciate fare all’ira divina. Sta scritto infatti: Spetta a me fare giustizia, io darò a ciascuno il suo, dice il Signore.
20 And more: If your enemy is hungry, give him something to eat; if thirsty, something to drink. By this,you wil be heaping red-hot coals on his head.	20 Al contrario, se il tuo nemico ha fame, dagli da mangiare; se ha sete, dagli da bere: facendo questo, infatti, accumulerai carboni ardenti sopra il suo capo.
21 Do not be mastered by evil, but master evil with good.	21 Non lasciarti vincere dal male, ma vinci il male con il bene.
