Romans 12

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA RICCIOTTI
1 I urge you, then, brothers, remembering the mercies of God, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, dedicated and acceptable to God; that is the kind of worship for you, as sensible people.	1 - Vi esorto dunque, o fratelli, per la misericordia di Dio, a offrire i vostri corpi come ostia vivente santa, gradevole a Dio, ciò che è il vostro culto ragionevole;
2 Do not model your behaviour on the contemporary world, but let the renewing of your mindstransform you, so that you may discern for yourselves what is the wil of God -- what is good and acceptable andmature.	2 e non conformatevi al secolo presente, ma trasformatevi col rinnovamento del vostro spirito, affinchè possiate ravvisare qual è la volontà di Dio, ciò che è bene e gradevole e perfetto.
3 And through the grace that I have been given, I say this to every one of you: never pride yourself onbeing better than you real y are, but think of yourself dispassionately, recognising that God has given to eachone his measure of faith.	3 Perchè, per la grazia che a me è stata data, dico a ciascuno che è tra voi, di non voler farsi saggio al di là del giusto limite, ma presuma solo di sè sino al grado della prudente saviezza, secondo che a ciascuno Dio distribuì la misura della fede.
4 Just as each of us has various parts in one body, and the parts do not al have the same function:	4 Poichè come in unico corpo abbiamo varie membra, e le membra non hanno tutte la stessa funzione,
5 in the same way, al of us, though there are so many of us, make up one body in Christ, and asdifferent parts we are al joined to one another.	5 così noi molti siamo un corpo solo in Cristo, e, per i rapporti reciproci, siamo membri gli uni degli altri.
6 Then since the gifts that we have differ according to the grace that was given to each of us: if it is agift of prophecy, we should prophesy as much as our faith tells us;	6 E secondo la grazia data a noi abbiamo doni differenti: o la profezia, [e chi l'ha, deve usarla] secondo la proporzione della fede;
7 if it is a gift of practical service, let us devote ourselves to serving; if it is teaching, to teaching;	7 o il ministero, [e chi v'è chiamato, attenda] al ministero; così chi insegna [si dedichi] a insegnare;
8 if it is encouraging, to encouraging. When you give, you should give generously from the heart; if youare put in charge, you must be conscientious; if you do works of mercy, let it be because you enjoy doing them.	8 chi esorta [lavori] nell'esortazione; chi dà, [lo faccia] con semplicità; chi presiede, [lo faccia] con tutto impegno: chi fa opere di pietà [le faccia] con animo ilare.
9 Let love be without any pretence. Avoid what is evil; stick to what is good.	9 L'amore sia senza ipocrisia. Odiando il male, siate attaccati al bene;
10 In brotherly love let your feelings of deep affection for one another come to expression and regardothers as more important than yourself.	10 con amor fraterno amandovi gli uni gli altri, e quanto a rispetto, anteponendo ciascuno gli altri a se stesso.
11 In the service of the Lord, work not halfheartedly but with conscientiousness and an eager spirit.	11 Per diligenza non tardi; di spirito ferventi; a Dio servendo;
12 Be joyful in hope, persevere in hardship; keep praying regularly;	12 nella speranza rallegrandovi, nelle tribolazioni pazienti, perseveranti nella preghiera.
13 share with any of God's holy people who are in need; look for opportunities to be hospitable.	13 Ai bisogni dei santi prendete parte, praticate l'ospitalità.
14 Bless your persecutors; never curse them, bless them.	14 Benedite quelli che vi perseguitano, benedite e non maledite.
15 Rejoice with others when they rejoice, and be sad with those in sorrow.	15 Rallegrarsi con chi gode, piangere con chi piange.
16 Give the same consideration to al others alike. Pay no regard to social standing, but meet humblepeople on their own terms. Do not congratulate yourself on your own wisdom.	16 Abbiate gli stessi sentimenti gli uni per gli altri; non alte cose presumendo, ma accompagnandovi cogli umili. «Non siate savi agli occhi di voi medesimi».
17 Never pay back evil with evil, but bear in mind the ideals that all regard with respect.	17 A nessuno rendete male per male, ricercando il bene a tutti gli uomini.
18 As much as possible, and to the utmost of your ability, be at peace with everyone.	18 Se possibile per quant'è da voi, abbiate pace con tutti gli uomini;
19 Never try to get revenge: leave that, my dear friends, to the Retribution. As scripture says:Vengeance is mine -- I wil pay them back, the Lord promises.	19 non vendicandovi da voi stessi, o diletti, ma date luogo all'ira divina, perchè sta scritto: «A me la vendetta, io darò la retribuzione», dice il Signore.
20 And more: If your enemy is hungry, give him something to eat; if thirsty, something to drink. By this,you wil be heaping red-hot coals on his head.	20 Anzi: «Se ha fame il tuo nemico dagli da mangiare; se ha sete, abbeveralo; poichè facendo così radunerai carboni di fuoco sopra la sua testa».
21 Do not be mastered by evil, but master evil with good.	21 Non lasciarti vincere dal male, ma vinci nel bene il male.
