NEW JERUSALEM	GREEK BIBLE
1 I urge you, then, brothers, remembering the mercies of God, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, dedicated and acceptable to God; that is the kind of worship for you, as sensible people.	1 Σας παρακαλω λοιπον, αδελφοι, δια των οικτιρμων του Θεου, να παραστησητε τα σωματα σας θυσιαν ζωσαν, αγιαν, ευαρεστον εις τον Θεον, ητις ειναι η λογικη σας λατρεια,
2 Do not model your behaviour on the contemporary world, but let the renewing of your mindstransform you, so that you may discern for yourselves what is the wil of God -- what is good and acceptable andmature.	2 και μη συμμορφονεσθε με τον αιωνα τουτον, αλλα μεταμορφονεσθε δια της ανακαινισεως του νοος σας, ωστε να δοκιμαζητε τι ειναι το θελημα του Θεου, το αγαθον και ευαρεστον και τελειον.
3 And through the grace that I have been given, I say this to every one of you: never pride yourself onbeing better than you real y are, but think of yourself dispassionately, recognising that God has given to eachone his measure of faith.	3 Διοτι λεγω δια της χαριτος της εις εμε δοθεισης προς παντα οστις ειναι μεταξυ σας, να μη φρονη υψηλοτερα παρ' ο, τι πρεπει να φρονη, αλλα να φρονη ωστε να σωφρονη, κατα το μετρον της πιστεως, το οποιον ο Θεος εμοιρασεν εις εκαστον.
4 Just as each of us has various parts in one body, and the parts do not al have the same function:	4 Διοτι καθως εχομεν εν ενι σωματι μελη πολλα, παντα δε τα μελη δεν εχουσι το αυτο εργον,
5 in the same way, al of us, though there are so many of us, make up one body in Christ, and asdifferent parts we are al joined to one another.	5 ουτω και ημεις οι πολλοι εν σωμα ειμεθα εν Χριστω, ο δε καθεις μελη αλληλων.
6 Then since the gifts that we have differ according to the grace that was given to each of us: if it is agift of prophecy, we should prophesy as much as our faith tells us;	6 Εχοντες δε χαρισματα διαφορα κατα την δοθεισαν εις ημας χαριν, ειτε προφητειαν, ας προφητευωμεν κατα την αναλογιαν της πιστεως,
7 if it is a gift of practical service, let us devote ourselves to serving; if it is teaching, to teaching;	7 ειτε διακονιαν, ας καταγινωμεθα εις την διακονιαν, ειτε διδασκει τις, ας καταγινηται εις την διδασκαλιαν,
8 if it is encouraging, to encouraging. When you give, you should give generously from the heart; if youare put in charge, you must be conscientious; if you do works of mercy, let it be because you enjoy doing them.	8 ειτε προτρεπει τις, εις την προτροπην? ο μεταδιδων, ας μεταδιδη εν απλοτητι, ο προισταμενος ας προισταται μετ' επιμελειας, ο ελεων ας ελεη εν ιλαροτητι.
9 Let love be without any pretence. Avoid what is evil; stick to what is good.	9 Η αγαπη ας ηναι ανυποκριτος. Αποστρεφεσθε το πονηρον, προσκολλασθε εις το αγαθον,
10 In brotherly love let your feelings of deep affection for one another come to expression and regardothers as more important than yourself.	10 γινεσθε προς αλληλους φιλοστοργοι δια της φιλαδελφιας, προλαμβανοντες να τιματε αλληλους,
11 In the service of the Lord, work not halfheartedly but with conscientiousness and an eager spirit.	11 εις την σπουδην αοκνοι, κατα το πνευμα ζεοντες, τον Κυριον δουλευοντες,
12 Be joyful in hope, persevere in hardship; keep praying regularly;	12 εις την ελπιδα χαιροντες, εις την θλιψιν υπομενοντες, εις την προσευχην προσκαρτερουντες,
13 share with any of God's holy people who are in need; look for opportunities to be hospitable.	13 εις τας χρειας των αγιων μεταδιδοντες, την φιλοξενιαν ακολουθουντες.
14 Bless your persecutors; never curse them, bless them.	14 Ευλογειτε τους καταδιωκοντας υμας, ευλογειτε και μη καταρασθε.
15 Rejoice with others when they rejoice, and be sad with those in sorrow.	15 Χαιρετε μετα χαιροντων και κλαιετε μετα κλαιοντων.
16 Give the same consideration to al others alike. Pay no regard to social standing, but meet humblepeople on their own terms. Do not congratulate yourself on your own wisdom.	16 Εχετε προς αλληλους το αυτο φρονημα. Μη υψηλοφρονειτε, αλλα συγκαταβαινετε εις τους ταπεινους. Μη φανταζεσθε εαυτους φρονιμους.
17 Never pay back evil with evil, but bear in mind the ideals that all regard with respect.	17 Εις μηδενα μη ανταποδιδετε κακον αντι κακου? προνοειτε τα καλα ενωπιον παντων ανθρωπων?
18 As much as possible, and to the utmost of your ability, be at peace with everyone.	18 ει δυνατον, οσον το αφ' υμων ειρηνευετε μετα παντων ανθρωπων.
19 Never try to get revenge: leave that, my dear friends, to the Retribution. As scripture says:Vengeance is mine -- I wil pay them back, the Lord promises.	19 Μη εκδικητε εαυτους, αγαπητοι, αλλα δοτε τοπον τη οργη? διοτι ειναι γεγραμμενον? εις εμε ανηκει η εκδικησις, εγω θελω καμει ανταποδοσιν, λεγει Κυριος.
20 And more: If your enemy is hungry, give him something to eat; if thirsty, something to drink. By this,you wil be heaping red-hot coals on his head.	20 Εαν λοιπον πεινα ο εχθρος σου, τρεφε αυτον, εαν διψα, ποτιζε αυτον? διοτι πραττων τουτο θελεις σωρευσει ανθρακας πυρος επι την κεφαλην αυτου.
21 Do not be mastered by evil, but master evil with good.	21 Μη νικασαι υπο του κακου, αλλα νικα δια του αγαθου το κακον.
