Mark 13

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA CEI 2008
1 As he was leaving the Temple one of his disciples said to him, 'Master, look at the size of thosestones! Look at the size of those buildings!'	1 Mentre usciva dal tempio, uno dei suoi discepoli gli disse: «Maestro, guarda che pietre e che costruzioni!».
2 And Jesus said to him, 'You see these great buildings? Not a single stone wil be left on another;everything wil be pul ed down.'	2 Gesù gli rispose: «Vedi queste grandi costruzioni? Non sarà lasciata qui pietra su pietra che non venga distrutta».
3 And while he was sitting on the Mount of Olives, facing the Temple, Peter, James, John and Andrewquestioned him when they were by themselves,	3 Mentre stava sul monte degli Ulivi, seduto di fronte al tempio, Pietro, Giacomo, Giovanni e Andrea lo interrogavano in disparte:
4 'Tel us, when is this going to happen, and what sign wil there be that it is all about to take place?'	4 «Di’ a noi: quando accadranno queste cose e quale sarà il segno quando tutte queste cose staranno per compiersi?».
5 Then Jesus began to tel them, 'Take care that no one deceives you.	5 Gesù si mise a dire loro: «Badate che nessuno v’inganni!
6 Many wil come using my name and saying, "I am he," and they wil deceive many.	6 Molti verranno nel mio nome, dicendo: “Sono io”, e trarranno molti in inganno.
7 When you hear of wars and rumours of wars, do not be alarmed; this is something that must happen,but the end wil not be yet.	7 E quando sentirete di guerre e di rumori di guerre, non allarmatevi; deve avvenire, ma non è ancora la fine.
8 For nation wil fight against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There wil be earthquakes in variousplaces; there wil be famines. This is the beginning of the birth-pangs.	8 Si solleverà infatti nazione contro nazione e regno contro regno; vi saranno terremoti in diversi luoghi e vi saranno carestie: questo è l’inizio dei dolori.
9 'Be on your guard: you wil be handed over to sanhedrins; you wil be beaten in synagogues; and you wil be brought before governors and kings for my sake, as evidence to them,	9 Ma voi badate a voi stessi! Vi consegneranno ai sinedri, sarete percossi nelle sinagoghe e comparirete davanti a governatori e re per causa mia, per dare testimonianza a loro.
10 since the gospel must first be proclaimed to al nations.	10 Ma prima è necessario che il Vangelo sia proclamato a tutte le nazioni.
11 'And when you are taken to be handed over, do not worry beforehand about what to say; no, saywhatever is given to you when the time comes, because it is not you who wil be speaking; it is the Holy Spirit.	11 E quando vi condurranno via per consegnarvi, non preoccupatevi prima di quello che direte, ma dite ciò che in quell’ora vi sarà dato: perché non siete voi a parlare, ma lo Spirito Santo.
12 Brother wil betray brother to death, and a father his child; children will come forward against theirparents and have them put to death.	12 Il fratello farà morire il fratello, il padre il figlio, e i figli si alzeranno ad accusare i genitori e li uccideranno.
13 You wil be universal y hated on account of my name; but anyone who stands firm to the end wil besaved.	13 Sarete odiati da tutti a causa del mio nome. Ma chi avrà perseverato fino alla fine sarà salvato.
14 'When you see the appal ing abomination set up where it ought not to be (let the reader understand),then those in Judaea must escape to the mountains;	14 Quando vedrete l’abominio della devastazione presente là dove non è lecito – chi legge, comprenda –, allora quelli che si trovano nella Giudea fuggano sui monti,
15 if a man is on the housetop, he must not come down or go inside to col ect anything from his house;	15 chi si trova sulla terrazza non scenda e non entri a prendere qualcosa nella sua casa,
16 if a man is in the fields, he must not turn back to fetch his cloak.	16 e chi si trova nel campo non torni indietro a prendersi il mantello.
17 Alas for those with child, or with babies at the breast, when those days come!	17 In quei giorni guai alle donne incinte e a quelle che allattano!
18 Pray that this may not be in winter.	18 Pregate che ciò non accada d’inverno;
19 For in those days there will be great distress, unparalleled since God created the world, and such aswil never be again.	19 perché quelli saranno giorni di tribolazione, quale non vi è mai stata dall’inizio della creazione, fatta da Dio, fino ad ora, e mai più vi sarà.
20 And if the Lord had not shortened that time, no human being would have survived; but he did shortenthe time, for the sake of the elect whom he chose.	20 E se il Signore non abbreviasse quei giorni, nessuno si salverebbe. Ma, grazie agli eletti che egli si è scelto, ha abbreviato quei giorni.
21 'And if anyone says to you then, "Look, here is the Christ" or, "Look, he is there," do not believe it;	21 Allora, se qualcuno vi dirà: “Ecco, il Cristo è qui; ecco, è là”, voi non credeteci;
22 for false Christs and false prophets wil arise and produce signs and portents to deceive the elect, ifthat were possible.	22 perché sorgeranno falsi cristi e falsi profeti e faranno segni e prodigi per ingannare, se possibile, gli eletti.
23 You, therefore, must be on your guard. I have given you full warning.	23 Voi, però, fate attenzione! Io vi ho predetto tutto.
24 'But in those days, after that time of distress, the sun wil be darkened, the moon wil not give its light,	24 In quei giorni, dopo quella tribolazione, il sole si oscurerà, la luna non darà più la sua luce,
25 the stars will come falling out of the sky and the powers in the heavens wil be shaken.	25 le stelle cadranno dal cielo e le potenze che sono nei cieli saranno sconvolte.
26 And then they wil see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.	26 Allora vedranno il Figlio dell’uomo venire sulle nubi con grande potenza e gloria.
27 And then he wil send the angels to gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the world tothe ends of the sky.	27 Egli manderà gli angeli e radunerà i suoi eletti dai quattro venti, dall’estremità della terra fino all’estremità del cielo.
28 'Take the fig tree as a parable: as soon as its twigs grow supple and its leaves come out, you knowthat summer is near.	28 Dalla pianta di fico imparate la parabola: quando ormai il suo ramo diventa tenero e spuntano le foglie, sapete che l’estate è vicina.
29 So with you when you see these things happening: know that he is near, right at the gates.	29 Così anche voi: quando vedrete accadere queste cose, sappiate che egli è vicino, è alle porte.
30 In truth I tel you, before this generation has passed away al these things will have taken place.	30 In verità io vi dico: non passerà questa generazione prima che tutto questo avvenga.
31 Sky and earth wil pass away, but my words wil not pass away.	31 Il cielo e la terra passeranno, ma le mie parole non passeranno.
32 'But as for that day or hour, nobody knows it, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son; no one butthe Father.	32 Quanto però a quel giorno o a quell’ora, nessuno lo sa, né gli angeli nel cielo né il Figlio, eccetto il Padre.
33 'Be on your guard, stay awake, because you never know when the time wil come.	33 Fate attenzione, vegliate, perché non sapete quando è il momento.
34 It is like a man travel ing abroad: he has gone from his home, and left his servants in charge, eachwith his own work to do; and he has told the doorkeeper to stay awake.	34 È come un uomo, che è partito dopo aver lasciato la propria casa e dato il potere ai suoi servi, a ciascuno il suo compito, e ha ordinato al portiere di vegliare.
35 So stay awake, because you do not know when the master of the house is coming, evening,midnight, cockcrow or dawn;	35 Vegliate dunque: voi non sapete quando il padrone di casa ritornerà, se alla sera o a mezzanotte o al canto del gallo o al mattino;
36 if he comes unexpectedly, he must not find you asleep.	36 fate in modo che, giungendo all’improvviso, non vi trovi addormentati.
37 And what I am saying to you I say to al : Stay awake!'	37 Quello che dico a voi, lo dico a tutti: vegliate!».
