NEW JERUSALEM	Biblija Hrvatski
1 Seeing the crowds, he went onto the mountain. And when he was seated his disciples came to him.	1 Ugledavši mnoštvo, uziđe na goru. I kad sjede, pristupe mu učenici.
2 Then he began to speak. This is what he taught them:	2 On progovori i stane ih naučavati:
3 How blessed are the poor in spirit: the kingdom of Heaven is theirs.	3 »Blago siromasima duhom: njihovo je kraljevstvo nebesko!
4 Blessed are the gentle: they shal have the earth as inheritance.	4 Blago ožalošćenima: oni će se utješiti!
5 Blessed are those who mourn: they shal be comforted.	5 Blago krotkima: oni će baštiniti zemlju!
6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for uprightness: they shal have their fil .	6 Blago gladnima i žednima pravednosti: oni će se nasititi!
7 Blessed are the merciful: they shal have mercy shown them.	7 Blago milosrdnima: oni će zadobiti milosrđe!
8 Blessed are the pure in heart: they shal see God.	8 Blago čistima srcem: oni će Boga gledati!
9 Blessed are the peacemakers: they shal be recognised as children of God.	9 Blago mirotvorcima: oni će se sinovima Božjim zvati!
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted in the cause of uprightness: the kingdom of Heaven is theirs.	10 Blago progonjenima zbog pravednosti: njihovo je kraljevstvo nebesko!«
11 'Blessed are you when people abuse you and persecute you and speak al kinds of calumny againstyou falsely on my account.	11 »Blago vama kad vas – zbog mene – pogrde i prognaju i sve zlo slažu protiv vas!
12 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven; this is how they persecuted the prophetsbefore you.	12 Radujte se i kličite: velika je plaća vaša na nebesima! Ta progonili su tako proroke prije vas!«
13 'You are salt for the earth. But if salt loses its taste, what can make it salty again? It is good fornothing, and can only be thrown out to be trampled under people's feet.	13 »Vi ste sol zemlje. Ali ako sol obljutavi, čime će se ona osoliti? Nije više ni za što, nego da se baci van i da ljudi po njoj gaze.«
14 'You are light for the world. A city built on a hil -top cannot be hidden.	14 »Vi ste svjetlost svijeta. Ne može se sakriti grad što leži na gori.
15 No one lights a lamp to put it under a tub; they put it on the lamp-stand where it shines for everyone inthe house.	15 Niti se užiže svjetiljka da se stavi pod posudu, nego na svijećnjak da svijetli svima u kući.
16 In the same way your light must shine in people's sight, so that, seeing your good works, they maygive praise to your Father in heaven.	16 Tako neka svijetli vaša svjetlost pred ljudima da vide vaša dobra djela i slave Oca vašega koji je na nebesima.«
17 'Do not imagine that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets. I have come not to abolish but tocomplete them.	17 »Ne mislite da sam došao ukinuti Zakon ili Proroke. Nisam došao ukinuti, nego ispuniti.
18 In truth I tell you, till heaven and earth disappear, not one dot, not one little stroke, is to disappear fromthe Law until al its purpose is achieved.	18 Zaista, kažem vam, dok ne prođe nebo i zemlja, ne, ni jedno slovce, ni jedan potezić iz Zakona neće proći, dok se sve ne zbude.
19 Therefore, anyone who infringes even one of the least of these commandments and teaches others todo the same wil be considered the least in the kingdom of Heaven; but the person who keeps them and teachesthem wil be considered great in the kingdom of Heaven.	19 Tko dakle ukine jednu od tih, pa i najmanjih zapovijedi i tako nauči ljude, najmanji će biti u kraljevstvu nebeskom. A tko ih bude vršio i druge učio, taj će biti velik u kraljevstvu nebeskom.«
20 'For I tell you, if your uprightness does not surpass that of the scribes and Pharisees, you wil neverget into the kingdom of Heaven.	20 »Uistinu kažem vam: ne bude li pravednost vaša veća od pravednosti pismoznanaca i farizeja, ne, nećete ući u kraljevstvo nebesko.«
21 'You have heard how it was said to our ancestors, You shal not kil ; and if anyone does kil he mustanswer for it before the court.	21 »Čuli ste da je rečeno starima: Ne ubij! Tko ubije, bit će podvrgnut sudu.
22 But I say this to you, anyone who is angry with a brother wil answer for it before the court; anyone whocal s a brother "Fool" wil answer for it before the Sanhedrin; and anyone who cal s him "Traitor" wil answer for it in hel fire.	22 A ja vam kažem: Svaki koji se srdi na brata svoga bit će podvrgnut sudu. A tko bratu rekne ‘Glupane!’, bit će podvrgnut Vijeću. A tko reče: ‘Luđače!’, bit će podvrgnut ognju paklenomu.«
23 So then, if you are bringing your offering to the altar and there remember that your brother hassomething against you,	23 »Ako dakle prinosiš dar na žrtvenik pa se ondje sjetiš da tvoj brat ima nešto protiv tebe,
24 leave your offering there before the altar, go and be reconciled with your brother first, and then comeback and present your offering.	24 ostavi dar ondje pred žrtvenikom, idi i najprije se izmiri s bratom, a onda dođi i prinesi dar.«
25 Come to terms with your opponent in good time while you are stil on the way to the court with him, orhe may hand you over to the judge and the judge to the officer, and you wil be thrown into prison.	25 »Nagodi se brzo s protivnikom dok si još s njim na putu, da te protivnik ne preda sucu, a sudac tamničaru, pa da te ne bace u tamnicu.
26 In truth I tell you, you wil not get out til you have paid the last penny.	26 Zaista, kažem ti, nećeš izići odande dok ne isplatiš do posljednjeg novčića.«
27 'You have heard how it was said, You shall not commit adultery.	27 »Čuli ste da je rečeno: Ne čini preljuba!
28 But I say this to you, if a man looks at a woman lustfully, he has already committed adultery with her inhis heart.	28 A ja vam kažem: Tko god s požudom pogleda ženu, već je s njome učinio preljub u srcu.
29 If your right eye should be your downfal , tear it out and throw it away; for it wil do you less harm tolose one part of yourself than to have your whole body thrown into hell.	29 Ako te desno oko sablažnjava, iskopaj ga i baci od sebe. Ta bolje je da ti propadne jedan od udova, nego da ti cijelo tijelo bude bačeno u pakao.
30 And if your right hand should be your downfall, cut it off and throw it away; for it wil do you less harmto lose one part of yourself than to have your whole body go to hel .	30 Ako te desnica tvoja sablažnjava, odsijeci je i baci od sebe. Ta bolje je da ti propadne jedan od udova, nego da ti cijelo tijelo ode u pakao.«
31 'It has also been said, Anyone who divorces his wife must give her a writ of dismissal.	31 »Rečeno je također: Tko otpusti svoju ženu, neka joj dade otpusnicu.
32 But I say this to you, everyone who divorces his wife, except for the case of an il icit marriage, makesher an adulteress; and anyone who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.	32 A ja vam kažem: Tko god otpusti svoju ženu – osim zbog bludništva – navodi je na preljub i tko se god otpuštenom oženi, čini preljub.«
33 'Again, you have heard how it was said to our ancestors, You must not break your oath, but must fulfilyour oaths to the Lord.	33 »Čuli ste još da je rečeno starima: Ne zaklinji se krivo, nego izvrši Gospodinu svoje zakletve.
34 But I say this to you, do not swear at al , either by heaven, since that is God's throne;	34 A ja vam kažem: Ne kunite se nikako! Ni nebom jer je prijestolje Božje.
35 or by earth, since that is his footstool; or by Jerusalem, since that is the city of the great King.	35 Ni zemljom jer je podnožje njegovim nogama. Ni Jeruzalemom jer grad je Kralja velikoga!
36 Do not swear by your own head either, since you cannot turn a single hair white or black.	36 Ni svojom se glavom ne zaklinji jer ni jedne vlasi ne možeš učiniti bijelom ili crnom.
37 All you need say is "Yes" if you mean yes, "No" if you mean no; anything more than this comes from the Evil One.	37 Vaša riječ neka bude: ‘Da, da, – ne, ne!’ Što je više od toga, od Zloga je.«
38 'You have heard how it was said: Eye for eye and tooth for tooth.	38 »Čuli ste da je rečeno: Oko za oko, zub za zub!
39 But I say this to you: offer no resistance to the wicked. On the contrary, if anyone hits you on the rightcheek, offer him the other as wel ;	39 A ja vam kažem: Ne opirite se Zlomu! Naprotiv, pljusne li te tko po desnom obrazu, okreni mu i drugi.
40 if someone wishes to go to law with you to get your tunic, let him have your cloak as well.	40 Onomu tko bi se htio s tobom parničiti da bi se domogao tvoje donje haljine prepusti i gornju.
41 And if anyone requires you to go one mile, go two miles with him.	41 Ako te tko prisili jednu milju, pođi s njim dvije.
42 Give to anyone who asks you, and if anyone wants to borrow, do not turn away.	42 Tko od tebe što zaište, podaj mu! I ne okreni se od onoga koji hoće da mu pozajmiš.«
43 'You have heard how it was said, You wil love your neighbour and hate your enemy.	43 »Čuli ste da je rečeno: Ljubi svoga bližnjega, a mrzi neprijatelja.
44 But I say this to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you;	44 A ja vam kažem: Ljubite neprijatelje, molite za one koji vas progone
45 so that you may be children of your Father in heaven, for he causes his sun to rise on the bad as wellas the good, and sends down rain to fal on the upright and the wicked alike.	45 da budete sinovi svoga Oca koji je na nebesima, jer on daje da sunce njegovo izlazi nad zlima i dobrima i da kiša pada pravednicima i nepravednicima.
46 For if you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Do not even the tax col ectors do asmuch?	46 Jer ako ljubite one koji vas ljube, kakva li vam plaća? Zar to isto ne čine i carinici?
47 And if you save your greetings for your brothers, are you doing anything exceptional?	47 I ako pozdravljate samo braću, što osobito činite? Zar to isto ne čine i pogani?«
48 Do not even the gentiles do as much? You must therefore be perfect, just as your heavenly Father isperfect.'	48 »Budite dakle savršeni kao što je savršen Otac vaš nebeski!«
