Matthew 5

NEW JERUSALEM	EINHEITSUBERSETZUNG BIBEL
1 Seeing the crowds, he went onto the mountain. And when he was seated his disciples came to him.	1 Als Jesus die vielen Menschen sah, stieg er auf einen Berg. Er setzte sich, und seine Jünger traten zu ihm.
2 Then he began to speak. This is what he taught them:	2 Dann begann er zu reden und lehrte sie.
3 How blessed are the poor in spirit: the kingdom of Heaven is theirs.	3 Er sagte:Selig, die arm sind vor Gott; denn ihnen gehört das Himmelreich.
4 Blessed are the gentle: they shal have the earth as inheritance.	4 Selig die Trauernden; denn sie werden getröstet werden.
5 Blessed are those who mourn: they shal be comforted.	5 Selig, die keine Gewalt anwenden; denn sie werden das Land erben.
6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for uprightness: they shal have their fil .	6 Selig, die hungern und dürsten nach der Gerechtigkeit; denn sie werden satt werden.
7 Blessed are the merciful: they shal have mercy shown them.	7 Selig die Barmherzigen; denn sie werden Erbarmen finden.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart: they shal see God.	8 Selig, die ein reines Herz haben; denn sie werden Gott schauen.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers: they shal be recognised as children of God.	9 Selig, die Frieden stiften; denn sie werden Söhne Gottes genannt werden.
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted in the cause of uprightness: the kingdom of Heaven is theirs.	10 Selig, die um der Gerechtigkeit willen verfolgt werden; denn ihnen gehört das Himmelreich.
11 'Blessed are you when people abuse you and persecute you and speak al kinds of calumny againstyou falsely on my account.	11 Selig seid ihr, wenn ihr um meinetwillen beschimpft und verfolgt und auf alle mögliche Weise verleumdet werdet.
12 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven; this is how they persecuted the prophetsbefore you.	12 Freut euch und jubelt: Euer Lohn im Himmel wird groß sein. Denn so wurden schon vor euch die Propheten verfolgt.
13 'You are salt for the earth. But if salt loses its taste, what can make it salty again? It is good fornothing, and can only be thrown out to be trampled under people's feet.	13 Ihr seid das Salz der Erde. Wenn das Salz seinen Geschmack verliert, womit kann man es wieder salzig machen? Es taugt zu nichts mehr; es wird weggeworfen und von den Leuten zertreten.
14 'You are light for the world. A city built on a hil -top cannot be hidden.	14 Ihr seid das Licht der Welt. Eine Stadt, die auf einem Berg liegt, kann nicht verborgen bleiben.
15 No one lights a lamp to put it under a tub; they put it on the lamp-stand where it shines for everyone inthe house.	15 Man zündet auch nicht ein Licht an und stülpt ein Gefäß darüber, sondern man stellt es auf den Leuchter; dann leuchtet es allen im Haus.
16 In the same way your light must shine in people's sight, so that, seeing your good works, they maygive praise to your Father in heaven.	16 So soll euer Licht vor den Menschen leuchten, damit sie eure guten Werke sehen und euren Vater im Himmel preisen.
17 'Do not imagine that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets. I have come not to abolish but tocomplete them.	17 Denkt nicht, ich sei gekommen, um das Gesetz und die Propheten aufzuheben. Ich bin nicht gekommen, um aufzuheben, sondern um zu erfüllen.
18 In truth I tell you, till heaven and earth disappear, not one dot, not one little stroke, is to disappear fromthe Law until al its purpose is achieved.	18 Amen, das sage ich euch: Bis Himmel und Erde vergehen, wird auch nicht der kleinste Buchstabe des Gesetzes vergehen, bevor nicht alles geschehen ist.
19 Therefore, anyone who infringes even one of the least of these commandments and teaches others todo the same wil be considered the least in the kingdom of Heaven; but the person who keeps them and teachesthem wil be considered great in the kingdom of Heaven.	19 Wer auch nur eines von den kleinsten Geboten aufhebt und die Menschen entsprechend lehrt, der wird im Himmelreich der Kleinste sein. Wer sie aber hält und halten lehrt, der wird groß sein im Himmelreich.
20 'For I tell you, if your uprightness does not surpass that of the scribes and Pharisees, you wil neverget into the kingdom of Heaven.	20 Darum sage ich euch: Wenn eure Gerechtigkeit nicht weit größer ist als die der Schriftgelehrten und der Pharisäer, werdet ihr nicht in das Himmelreich kommen.
21 'You have heard how it was said to our ancestors, You shal not kil ; and if anyone does kil he mustanswer for it before the court.	21 Ihr habt gehört, dass zu den Alten gesagt worden ist: Du sollst nicht töten; wer aber jemand tötet, soll dem Gericht verfallen sein.
22 But I say this to you, anyone who is angry with a brother wil answer for it before the court; anyone whocal s a brother "Fool" wil answer for it before the Sanhedrin; and anyone who cal s him "Traitor" wil answer for it in hel fire.	22 Ich aber sage euch: Jeder, der seinem Bruder auch nur zürnt, soll dem Gericht verfallen sein; und wer zu seinem Bruder sagt: Du Dummkopf!, soll dem Spruch des Hohen Rates verfallen sein; wer aber zu ihm sagt: Du (gottloser) Narr!, soll dem Feuer der Hölle verfallen sein.
23 So then, if you are bringing your offering to the altar and there remember that your brother hassomething against you,	23 Wenn du deine Opfergabe zum Altar bringst und dir dabei einfällt, dass dein Bruder etwas gegen dich hat,
24 leave your offering there before the altar, go and be reconciled with your brother first, and then comeback and present your offering.	24 so lass deine Gabe dort vor dem Altar liegen; geh und versöhne dich zuerst mit deinem Bruder, dann komm und opfere deine Gabe.
25 Come to terms with your opponent in good time while you are stil on the way to the court with him, orhe may hand you over to the judge and the judge to the officer, and you wil be thrown into prison.	25 Schließ ohne Zögern Frieden mit deinem Gegner, solange du mit ihm noch auf dem Weg zum Gericht bist. Sonst wird dich dein Gegner vor den Richter bringen und der Richter wird dich dem Gerichtsdiener übergeben und du wirst ins Gefängnis geworfen.
26 In truth I tell you, you wil not get out til you have paid the last penny.	26 Amen, das sage ich dir: Du kommst von dort nicht heraus, bis du den letzten Pfennig bezahlt hast.
27 'You have heard how it was said, You shall not commit adultery.	27 Ihr habt gehört, dass gesagt worden ist: Du sollst nicht die Ehe brechen.
28 But I say this to you, if a man looks at a woman lustfully, he has already committed adultery with her inhis heart.	28 Ich aber sage euch: Wer eine Frau auch nur lüstern ansieht, hat in seinem Herzen schon Ehebruch mit ihr begangen.
29 If your right eye should be your downfal , tear it out and throw it away; for it wil do you less harm tolose one part of yourself than to have your whole body thrown into hell.	29 Wenn dich dein rechtes Auge zum Bösen verführt, dann reiß es aus und wirf es weg! Denn es ist besser für dich, dass eines deiner Glieder verloren geht, als dass dein ganzer Leib in die Hölle geworfen wird.
30 And if your right hand should be your downfall, cut it off and throw it away; for it wil do you less harmto lose one part of yourself than to have your whole body go to hel .	30 Und wenn dich deine rechte Hand zum Bösen verführt, dann hau sie ab und wirf sie weg! Denn es ist besser für dich, dass eines deiner Glieder verloren geht, als dass dein ganzer Leib in die Hölle kommt.
31 'It has also been said, Anyone who divorces his wife must give her a writ of dismissal.	31 Ferner ist gesagt worden: Wer seine Frau aus der Ehe entlässt, muss ihr eine Scheidungsurkunde geben.
32 But I say this to you, everyone who divorces his wife, except for the case of an il icit marriage, makesher an adulteress; and anyone who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.	32 Ich aber sage euch: Wer seine Frau entlässt, obwohl kein Fall von Unzucht vorliegt, liefert sie dem Ehebruch aus; und wer eine Frau heiratet, die aus der Ehe entlassen worden ist, begeht Ehebruch.
33 'Again, you have heard how it was said to our ancestors, You must not break your oath, but must fulfilyour oaths to the Lord.	33 Ihr habt gehört, dass zu den Alten gesagt worden ist: Du sollst keinen Meineid schwören, und: Du sollst halten, was du dem Herrn geschworen hast.
34 But I say this to you, do not swear at al , either by heaven, since that is God's throne;	34 Ich aber sage euch: Schwört überhaupt nicht, weder beim Himmel, denn er ist Gottes Thron,
35 or by earth, since that is his footstool; or by Jerusalem, since that is the city of the great King.	35 noch bei der Erde, denn sie ist der Schemel für seine Füße, noch bei Jerusalem, denn es ist die Stadt des großen Königs.
36 Do not swear by your own head either, since you cannot turn a single hair white or black.	36 Auch bei deinem Haupt sollst du nicht schwören; denn du kannst kein einziges Haar weiß oder schwarz machen.
37 All you need say is "Yes" if you mean yes, "No" if you mean no; anything more than this comes from the Evil One.	37 Euer Ja sei ein Ja, euer Nein ein Nein; alles andere stammt vom Bösen.
38 'You have heard how it was said: Eye for eye and tooth for tooth.	38 Ihr habt gehört, dass gesagt worden ist: Auge für Auge und Zahn für Zahn.
39 But I say this to you: offer no resistance to the wicked. On the contrary, if anyone hits you on the rightcheek, offer him the other as wel ;	39 Ich aber sage euch: Leistet dem, der euch etwas Böses antut, keinen Widerstand, sondern wenn dich einer auf die rechte Wange schlägt, dann halt ihm auch die andere hin.
40 if someone wishes to go to law with you to get your tunic, let him have your cloak as well.	40 Und wenn dich einer vor Gericht bringen will, um dir das Hemd wegzunehmen, dann lass ihm auch den Mantel.
41 And if anyone requires you to go one mile, go two miles with him.	41 Und wenn dich einer zwingen will, eine Meile mit ihm zu gehen, dann geh zwei mit ihm.
42 Give to anyone who asks you, and if anyone wants to borrow, do not turn away.	42 Wer dich bittet, dem gib, und wer von dir borgen will, den weise nicht ab.
43 'You have heard how it was said, You wil love your neighbour and hate your enemy.	43 Ihr habt gehört, dass gesagt worden ist: Du sollst deinen Nächsten lieben und deinen Feind hassen.
44 But I say this to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you;	44 Ich aber sage euch: Liebt eure Feinde und betet für die, die euch verfolgen,
45 so that you may be children of your Father in heaven, for he causes his sun to rise on the bad as wellas the good, and sends down rain to fal on the upright and the wicked alike.	45 damit ihr Söhne eures Vaters im Himmel werdet; denn er lässt seine Sonne aufgehen über Bösen und Guten, und er lässt regnen über Gerechte und Ungerechte.
46 For if you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Do not even the tax col ectors do asmuch?	46 Wenn ihr nämlich nur die liebt, die euch lieben, welchen Lohn könnt ihr dafür erwarten? Tun das nicht auch die Zöllner?
47 And if you save your greetings for your brothers, are you doing anything exceptional?	47 Und wenn ihr nur eure Brüder grüßt, was tut ihr damit Besonderes? Tun das nicht auch die Heiden?
48 Do not even the gentiles do as much? You must therefore be perfect, just as your heavenly Father isperfect.'	48 Ihr sollt also vollkommen sein, wie es auch euer himmlischer Vater ist.
