Zechariah 2

NEW JERUSALEM	Sacra Bibbia Garofalo
1 Then, raising my eyes, I had a vision. It was this: There were four horns.	1 Poi alzai gli occhi e vidi: ecco, quattro corna.
2 I said to the angel who was talking to me, 'What are these?' He said to me, 'These are the horns whichscattered Judah (Israel) and Jerusalem.'	2 Allora dissi all’angelo che parlava in me: «Che sono queste?”. Egli mi disse: “Queste sono le corna che hanno disperso Giuda, Israele e Gerusalemme”.
3 Yahweh then showed me four smiths.	3 Quindi Jahvè mi fece vedere quattro operai.
4 And I said, 'What are these coming to do?' He said to me, '(Those horns scattered Judah so completelythat no one dared to raise his head; but) these have come to terrify them, to throw down the horns of the nationswho raised their horns over the land of Judah to scatter it.'	4 Allora dissi: “Che cosa vengono a fare costoro?”. Egli disse: “Queste sono le corna che hanno disperso Giuda, in modo che nessuno più levò la testa. Sono venuti a impaurire quelle; ad abbattere la potenza delle genti che alzano il corno contro il paese di Giuda, per disperderlo”.
5 Then, raising my eyes, I had a vision. There was a man with a measuring line in his hand.	5 Poi alzai gli occhi e vidi: ed ecco un uomo, che aveva in mano una funicella da misura.
6 I asked him, 'Where are you going?' He said, 'To measure Jerusalem, to calculate her width and length.'	6 Allora dissi: “Dove vai?”. Egli mi disse: “A misurare Gerusalemme, a vedere quanto sia grande la sua larghezza e quanto la sua lunghezza”.
7 And then, while the angel who was talking to me walked away, another angel came out to meet him.	7 Ed ecco, l’angelo che parlava in me, uscì e un altro angelo andò incontro a lui.
8 He said to him, 'Run, and tell that young man this, "Jerusalem is to remain unwal ed, because of the great number of men and cattle inside.	8 Quegli disse a lui: “Corri, di’ a quel giovane: Gerusalemme resterà una contrada aperta per la quantità di uomini e di bestiame in essa.
9 For I -- Yahweh declares -- shal be a wall of fire al round her and I shal be the Glory within her." '	9 Io poi sarò per lei — oracolo di Jahvè — un muro di fuoco all’intorno e sarò per la sua gloria in mezzo a lei.
10 Look out! Look out! Flee from the land of the north -- Yahweh declares- for I have scattered you to thefour winds of heaven -- Yahweh declares.	10 Orsù, orsù, fuggite dal paese del nord — oracolo di Jahvè — voi che ai quattro venti del cielo io avevo disperso — oracolo di Jahvè! —
11 Look out! Make your escape, Zion, now living with the daughter of Babylon!	11 Orsù, cerca scampo a Sion, tu che abiti in Babilonia”.
12 For Yahweh Sabaoth says this, since the Glory commissioned me, about the nations who plunderedyou, 'Whoever touches you touches the apple of my eye.	12 Poiché così dice Jahvè degli eserciti, che dopo la gloria mi ha inviato, riguardo alle genti che vi hanno spogliato, poiché chi tocca voi, tocca la pupilla del suo occhio:
13 Now look, I shal wave my hand over them and they wil be plundered by those whom they haveenslaved.' Then you wil know that Yahweh Sabaoth has sent me!	13 “Sì, ecco io agito la mano su di essi e saranno preda dei loro servitori. Saprete che Jahvè degli eserciti mi ha inviato.
14 Sing, rejoice, daughter of Zion, for now I am coming to live among you -Yahweh declares!	14 Giubila e rallegrati, figlia di Sion, poiché, ecco vengo e abito in mezzo a te: — oracolo di Jahvè! —
15 And on that day many nations will be converted to Yahweh. Yes, they wil become his people, and theywil live among you. Then you wil know that Yahweh Sabaoth has sent me to you!	15 Molti popoli si uniranno a Jahvè in quel giorno e saranno suo popolo. Io abiterò in mezzo a te. Tu poi saprai che Jahvè degli eserciti mi ha inviato a te.
16 Yahweh wil take possession of Judah, his portion in the Holy Land, and again make Jerusalem hischoice.	16 Allora Jahvè si impadronirà di Giuda come di una sua proprietà nella terra santa e sceglierà di nuovo Gerusalemme.
17 Let al people be silent before Yahweh, now that he is stirring from his holy Dwel ing!	17 Taccia ogni creatura alla presenza di Jahvè, poiché egli si ridesta dalla sua santa dimora!”.
