Zechariah 2

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA TINTORI
1 Then, raising my eyes, I had a vision. It was this: There were four horns.	1 Ed alzai gli occhi e vidi: ed ecco un uomo che aveva in mano una corda da misurare.
2 I said to the angel who was talking to me, 'What are these?' He said to me, 'These are the horns whichscattered Judah (Israel) and Jerusalem.'	2 E io dissi: « Dove vai tu? » Mi rispose: « A misurare Gerusalemme, per vedere quanta ne sia la larghezza e quanta la lunghezza ».
3 Yahweh then showed me four smiths.	3 Ed ecco uscir l'angelo che parlava con me, ed un altro angelo gli andava incontro
4 And I said, 'What are these coming to do?' He said to me, '(Those horns scattered Judah so completelythat no one dared to raise his head; but) these have come to terrify them, to throw down the horns of the nationswho raised their horns over the land of Judah to scatter it.'	4 a dirgli: « Corri, parla a questo giovane e digli: Senza mura sarà abitata Gerusalemme per la gran quantità di uomini e di bestie che avrà nel suo seno.
5 Then, raising my eyes, I had a vision. There was a man with a measuring line in his hand.	5 Ma io sarò per essa — dice il Signore — una muraglia di fuoco che la circonderà, e sarò in gloria in mezzo a lei.
6 I asked him, 'Where are you going?' He said, 'To measure Jerusalem, to calculate her width and length.'	6 Oh! oh! Fuggite dalla terra del settentrione, — dice il Signore — perchè io v'ho dispersi ai quattro venti del cielo — dice il Signore —
7 And then, while the angel who was talking to me walked away, another angel came out to meet him.	7 Oh! Fuggi, o Sion, che abiti presso la figlia di Babilonia;
8 He said to him, 'Run, and tell that young man this, "Jerusalem is to remain unwal ed, because of the great number of men and cattle inside.	8 perché così paria, il Signore degli eserciti: Per la gloria mi ha inviato allo nazioni che vi spogliarono, perchè chi tocca voi tocca la pupilla del mio occhio.
9 For I -- Yahweh declares -- shal be a wall of fire al round her and I shal be the Glory within her." '	9 Ecco che io alzo sopra di loro la mia mano, e saranno preda di quelli che furon loro schiavi, e voi conoscerete che mi ha mandato il Signore degli eserciti.
10 Look out! Look out! Flee from the land of the north -- Yahweh declares- for I have scattered you to thefour winds of heaven -- Yahweh declares.	10 Canta inni, rallegrati o figlia di Sion perchè ecco che vengo ad abitare in mezzo a te dice il Signore —
11 Look out! Make your escape, Zion, now living with the daughter of Babylon!	11 e molte nazioni si attaccheranno al Signore in quel giorno, e saranno mio popolo ed io abiterò in mezzo a te, e saprai che mi ha mandato a te il Signore degli eserciti.
12 For Yahweh Sabaoth says this, since the Glory commissioned me, about the nations who plunderedyou, 'Whoever touches you touches the apple of my eye.	12 E il Signore possederà Giuda come sua porzione nella Terra Santa, e di nuovo sceglierà Gerusalemme.
13 Now look, I shal wave my hand over them and they wil be plundered by those whom they haveenslaved.' Then you wil know that Yahweh Sabaoth has sent me!	13 Ogni mortale taccia dinanzi al Signore, perchè egli s'è alzato dalla sua santa dimora ».
14 Sing, rejoice, daughter of Zion, for now I am coming to live among you -Yahweh declares!
15 And on that day many nations will be converted to Yahweh. Yes, they wil become his people, and theywil live among you. Then you wil know that Yahweh Sabaoth has sent me to you!
16 Yahweh wil take possession of Judah, his portion in the Holy Land, and again make Jerusalem hischoice.
17 Let al people be silent before Yahweh, now that he is stirring from his holy Dwel ing!
