Zechariah 2

NEW JERUSALEM	NOVA VULGATA
1 Then, raising my eyes, I had a vision. It was this: There were four horns.	1 Et levavi oculos meos et vidi, et ecce quattuor cornua;
2 I said to the angel who was talking to me, 'What are these?' He said to me, 'These are the horns whichscattered Judah (Israel) and Jerusalem.'	2 et dixi adangelum, qui loquebatur in me: “Quid sunt haec?”. Et dixit ad me: “Haecsunt cornua, quae ventilaverunt Iudam et Israel et Ierusalem”.
3 Yahweh then showed me four smiths.	3 Et ostenditmihi Dominus quattuor fabros;
4 And I said, 'What are these coming to do?' He said to me, '(Those horns scattered Judah so completelythat no one dared to raise his head; but) these have come to terrify them, to throw down the horns of the nationswho raised their horns over the land of Judah to scatter it.'	4 et dixi: “Quid isti veniunt facere?”. Quirespondit dicens: “Haec sunt cornua, quae ventilaverunt Iudam per singulosviros, ut nemo eorum levaret caput suum; et venerunt isti deterrere ea, utdeiciant cornua gentium, quae levaverunt cornu super terram Iudae, utdispergerent eam”.
5 Then, raising my eyes, I had a vision. There was a man with a measuring line in his hand.	5 Et levavi oculos meos et vidi; et ecce vir, et in manu eius funiculusmensorum.
6 I asked him, 'Where are you going?' He said, 'To measure Jerusalem, to calculate her width and length.'	6 Et dixi: “Quo tu vadis?”. Et dixit ad me: “Ut metiar Ierusalemet videam, quanta sit latitudo eius et quanta longitudo eius”.
7 And then, while the angel who was talking to me walked away, another angel came out to meet him.	7 Et ecce angelus, qui loquebatur in me, egrediebatur, et angelus aliusegrediebatur in occursum eius;
8 He said to him, 'Run, and tell that young man this, "Jerusalem is to remain unwal ed, because of the great number of men and cattle inside.	8 et dixit ad eum: “Curre, loquere ad puerumistum dicens: Absque muris habitabitur Ierusalem prae multitudine hominum etiumentorum in medio eius.
9 For I -- Yahweh declares -- shal be a wall of fire al round her and I shal be the Glory within her." '	9 Et ego ero ei, ait Dominus, murus ignis in circuituet in gloria ero in medio eius.
10 Look out! Look out! Flee from the land of the north -- Yahweh declares- for I have scattered you to thefour winds of heaven -- Yahweh declares.	10 Heu, heu! Fugite de terra aquilonis, dicit Dominus, quoniam in quattuorventos caeli dispersi vos, dicit Dominus.
11 Look out! Make your escape, Zion, now living with the daughter of Babylon!	11 Heu, Sion, fuge, quae habitas apudfiliam Babylonis!
12 For Yahweh Sabaoth says this, since the Glory commissioned me, about the nations who plunderedyou, 'Whoever touches you touches the apple of my eye.	12 Quia haec dicit Dominus exercituum, cuius gloria misit mead gentes, quae spoliaverunt vos: Qui tetigerit vos, tangit pupillam oculi mei.
13 Now look, I shal wave my hand over them and they wil be plundered by those whom they haveenslaved.' Then you wil know that Yahweh Sabaoth has sent me!	13 Quia ecce ego levo manum meam super eos, et erunt praeda servorum suorum; etcognoscetis quia Dominus exercituum misit me.
14 Sing, rejoice, daughter of Zion, for now I am coming to live among you -Yahweh declares!	14 Iubila et laetare, filia Sion, quia ecce ego venio et habitabo in medio tui, ait Dominus.
15 And on that day many nations will be converted to Yahweh. Yes, they wil become his people, and theywil live among you. Then you wil know that Yahweh Sabaoth has sent me to you!	15 Et applicabuntur gentes multae ad Dominum in die illa et erunt ei in populum. Et habitabo in medio tui, et scies quia Dominus exercituum misit me ad te.
16 Yahweh wil take possession of Judah, his portion in the Holy Land, and again make Jerusalem hischoice.	16 Et possidebit Dominus Iudam partem suam super terram sanctam et eliget adhuc Ierusalem.
17 Let al people be silent before Yahweh, now that he is stirring from his holy Dwel ing!	17 Sileat omnis caro a facie Domini, quia consurrexit de habitaculo sancto suo”.
