Zechariah 2

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA RICCIOTTI
1 Then, raising my eyes, I had a vision. It was this: There were four horns.	1 - E alzai gli occhi miei e vidi, ed ecco un uomo che aveva in mano una corda da misurare.
2 I said to the angel who was talking to me, 'What are these?' He said to me, 'These are the horns whichscattered Judah (Israel) and Jerusalem.'	2 E dissi: - Dove vai tu? - Ed egli mi disse: - A misurare Gerusalemme, per vedere quanta sia la sua larghezza e quanta la sua lunghezza. -
3 Yahweh then showed me four smiths.	3 Ed ecco l'angelo che parlava meco si avanzò verso un altro angelo, che mosse ad incontrarlo.
4 And I said, 'What are these coming to do?' He said to me, '(Those horns scattered Judah so completelythat no one dared to raise his head; but) these have come to terrify them, to throw down the horns of the nationswho raised their horns over the land of Judah to scatter it.'	4 E gli disse: - Corri a parlare a cotesto giovane e a dirgli: "Senza mura sarà abitata Gerusalemme, per la gran quantità di gente e d'animali che vi saranno dentro di essa ".
5 Then, raising my eyes, I had a vision. There was a man with a measuring line in his hand.	5 Ed io stesso, dice il Signore, le sarò una muraglia di fuoco tutt' intorno e sarò in gloria in mezzo di essa.
6 I asked him, 'Where are you going?' He said, 'To measure Jerusalem, to calculate her width and length.'	6 Deh! Deh! Fuggite dalla terra del settentrione, dice il Signore; perchè ai quattro vènti io vi avevo dispersi, dice il Signore.
7 And then, while the angel who was talking to me walked away, another angel came out to meet him.	7 Fuggi, o Sion, che abiti presso alla figlia di Babilonia;
8 He said to him, 'Run, and tell that young man this, "Jerusalem is to remain unwal ed, because of the great number of men and cattle inside.	8 perchè così dice il Signore degli eserciti: "A tutela della gloria sua dietro a voi mi ha mandato, tra le genti che vi hanno spogliati, perchè chi tocca voi, tocca la pupilla dei miei occhi".
9 For I -- Yahweh declares -- shal be a wall of fire al round her and I shal be the Glory within her." '	9 Ecco che io alzo la mano sopra coloro, e saranno preda di quelli che erano loro schiavi, e conoscerete che il Signore degli eserciti mi ha mandato.
10 Look out! Look out! Flee from the land of the north -- Yahweh declares- for I have scattered you to thefour winds of heaven -- Yahweh declares.	10 Canta ed esulta, o figliuola di Sion; perchè ecco, che io vengo e abiterò in mezzo a te, dice il Signore.
11 Look out! Make your escape, Zion, now living with the daughter of Babylon!	11 Molte genti si accosteranno al Signore in quel giorno, e diventeranno mio popolo; e abiterò in mezzo a te, e saprai che il Signore degli eserciti mi ha mandato a te.
12 For Yahweh Sabaoth says this, since the Glory commissioned me, about the nations who plunderedyou, 'Whoever touches you touches the apple of my eye.	12 E il Signore possederà Giuda, suo retaggio nella terra santa ed eleggerò di nuovo Gerusalemme.
13 Now look, I shal wave my hand over them and they wil be plundered by those whom they haveenslaved.' Then you wil know that Yahweh Sabaoth has sent me!	13 Che ogni creatura ammutolisca al cospetto del Signore, perchè si è levato su dalla sua santa dimora. -
14 Sing, rejoice, daughter of Zion, for now I am coming to live among you -Yahweh declares!
15 And on that day many nations will be converted to Yahweh. Yes, they wil become his people, and theywil live among you. Then you wil know that Yahweh Sabaoth has sent me to you!
16 Yahweh wil take possession of Judah, his portion in the Holy Land, and again make Jerusalem hischoice.
17 Let al people be silent before Yahweh, now that he is stirring from his holy Dwel ing!
